With all the hate out in the world, I believe this is a beautiful representation of the love and individual can have for innocent children that deserve a good parent to love them unconditionally despite not being blood related & in that parenting role like an adoptive parent/step parent/etc

But I don't recommend anything before that for you if you couldn't get into it. I love every season, but it's only this season that fits with the other shows

Vampire Fan, no, Caroline is essentially a surrogate who didn't have a choice to be one in the first place. Jo is the biological mother. I was glad she thanked Caroline too (even if I do prefer Jo). She wasn't able to take care of them or Alaric, and she realizes that Caroline stepped up and filled her place for her. Think how depressing and helpless that would feel but also the amount of gratitude in such a situation. Makes ya think.

She was just 17 or maybe 18. She is easily the best character in the entire show. Josette was great I am not trying to throw shade at her but sorry she was in no way near caroline.
Alaric really deserves to be happy. I always thought he was very underrated in TVD, for me he's one of the best characters and I'm glad he plays the main part on this show. He has been through so much, he lost many people that he loved, he even died and then came back... Yet he was never selfish, self-centered, he always put his friends first, he took care of Elena and Jeremy even though they weren't related, he forgave Damon after all that he's done to him... He's really good role model for the twins and I really hope he finds happiness at the end.
I think penelope knows about the merge so she’s trying to change josie to think more about herself . Bescause right know josie wouldn’t fight for the merge. She will let lizzie win. So penelope is scare to loss josie at the end.

Julie Plec really needs to come up w a better plot for why Caroline is gone bc first off they won’t be 22 for another 6yrs, secondly how in the world could 2 siphons possibly do the merge when they don’t have magic of they’re own, just like Kai who was exempt bc they didn’t want a siphon to be the leader of the Gemini coven since he had no magic of his own and can only gain that magic by merging w Jo who had magic at the time, and finally they should’ve left the merge plot in TVD bc wat Coven is one of the Twins gonna lead since Kai killed them all when he died the the first time, leaving only Valerie and one of the twins who won the merge to be left of the coven(frankly not much of coven, really would just be one powerful siphon).
I think theyll do what there grandfather did. When he merged with his twin he became the leader of the Gemini coven. Then he got married and had kids, twins, josette and malachi, who he thought would merge and become the new leader. Then when he found out kai was a siphon he had more kids until liv and Luke were born, ensuring his coven would have a leader now

Actually I think there may be 2 members still living besides the twins. As far we know, Valerie is alive somewhere, and Kai is alive in the new prison world that Bonnie, Lizzie, and Josie created.
Technically theres a merge but its a plot hole. 1. There is no more coven and no more leader and the only reason to merge is so they wouldn't did when leader dies, but that is literally a non issue. 2. siphoners dont have any magic to steal in the merge so nothing would even happen. Siphons had been exempt from the merge, other than Kai and thats only because he forced them to do it because he knew he'd win as he had no magic for the other to take and also had an ability specifically meant to steal magic from others. They're ret conning the merge as an excuse for why Caroline isn't there. Which is a lame excuse because it is still a very long time away and if anyone would be able to find anything out its Valerie who we know cares a lot about the twins and would be more than willing to help.
Alaric could've been happy with Jenna but they killed her. He could've been happy with Jo too but they also killed her. Godsdamn, I hate them for that; These characters deserve better.
In gemini coven twins have to do a merging ritual at the age of 22, the stronger one wins and the weaker one..dies. It was shown once in tvd in season 6, i'm sure you can you find the scene on yt or read about it on vampirediarieswikia

there’s no “they” in this. Just one of them. One of them has to merge so, technically, one of them has to die.
Technically theres a merge but its a plot hole.
1. There is no more coven and no more leader and the only reason to merge is so they wouldn't did when leader dies, but that is literally a non issue.
2. siphoners dont have any magic to steal in the merge so nothing would even happen. Siphons had been exempt from the merge, other than Kai and thats only because he forced them to do it because he knew he'd win as he had no magic for the other to take and also had an ability specifically meant to steal magic from others.
They're ret conning the merge as an excuse for why Caroline isn't there. Which is a lame excuse because it is still a very long time away and if anyone would be able to find anything out its Valerie who we know cares a lot about the twins and would be more than willing to help.

Alaric could've been happy with Jenna but they killed her. He could've been happy with Jo too but they also killed her. Godsdamn, I hate them for that; These characters deserve better.

From what I've heard: she was murdered at their wedding after he had spoken their vows but before she could promise hers. Which means they weren't yet married (also no marriage certificate).
So some people consider her his wife, and others don't (he's called her his wife before too).
