I have the same impression, so much of Israel Crosby's playing on Poinciana seems to foreshadow Jamerson, almost to the point where you could say Poinciana is as representative of Jamerson's style as of Crosby's... What Crosby plays on the C7 at 5:26, for example, with the repeated/ghosted notes, or the way he often leans on the 6th of the major and minor chords. They both used the right hand first finger exclusively, which might account for some similarity in phrasing. By the way, on the A7 chord in Poinciana, it sounds to me like the note on beat 4 is a tom and the bass plays on the and of four.
