At my IKEA they have a place where you can leave your 7 year old and younger child at and they would take care of them. It’s actually pretty cool, it doesn’t even cost that much either.

By decreasing transportation and labour costs, and by having a massive warehouse in a cheap location, their expenses are far lower than almost all other furniture stores. That is why the quality of the furniture is so good for such a reasonable price.
The quality has a lot to do with engineering as well... most of their stuff i bacallt built with paper. (dont get me wrong i love IKEA and bacally exclusivley have their stuff in my home)

I legit fell madly in love at an IKEA. My inner circle decided to meet up there to play hide and go seek when we were in our early 20s. Me and this kind, timid guy ended up hiding together and talking about interior design. No one found us so we started wandering, talking for hours about building a house together and eventually about building a life together. A real quiet dude, I'd never heard him ramble before and I was loving it. I realized how many wonderful qualities he'd had all along and--while uncomfortably reclined on a cheap modernist sofa--just how **hunky** this nerd was. By the time we all reconvened for meatballs I wanted to marry the guy. Almost 30 now and still together lol.
I am kinda lazy and bad with all kind of manual works and I never understood the IKEA hype, it seems like such a scam to me. 🙈😅 I also can recommend having a look at the ingredient lists of the food they sell there, it's really the cheapest industry food possible. 🤢

IKEA issued a recall for my dresser 20 years after we bought it. It was already a bit broken because I had been over stuffing it. We returned it for a full refund and bought a new dresser that was the same size for less money. Love IKEA

And once you've bought your knicknacks, tealights and paper napkins, you add some kitchen gadgets, a cutting board, a couple of those sheets you like in a new colour, some cute bowls, a duvet cover that matches the sheets, a super cute stuffie, a plant, a plant pot and a plant stand -- presto! You've spent 200 dollars!

A few years ago I had an IKEA right on the route I drove to work, so whenever I felt overtaxed after work I'd stop by for a cheap cinnamon roll and free coffee until I felt like a person again. It's a good thing my life isn't half as stressful anymore, because now that I've moved to another city the nearest IKEA is much too far away for any kind of leisure visits. The next time I move I'll have to take closeness to the IKEA into consideration.

Couple of years ago we had a big snowstorm in Denmark (big for us anyways) and some people ended up being snowed in at an IKEA. Tbh, if you have to be stuck somewhere, it's kinda the perfect place for it 😂

i made the mistake of going to an ikea on a saturday a few weeks ago and the shop was overcrowded with people like an anglerfish with teeth. it felt like an amusement park where you bring the whole family along and just happen to buy furniture on the side. children were running around everywhere, not only on the indoor playground, the restaurant was packed to the brim with people and they also bought the last egg slicer before i could fight my way to it. i feel lucky i made it out alive.

My ex told me he didn’t care how i redecorated. Literally didn't matter to him. i dragged him to ikea because i had a suspicion he would hate my choices and we would live in an argument instead of a living room. Sure enough, he hated the couch, table, chair, lamp, etc i had picked out. Good news was i saved $500. But he did build anything i brought home. Exercise equipment, desks, a wine rack.
Last year I went there for the first time and it was so overwhelming that I just went to the restaurant and ordered food 🥲

When I was a college student, I’d stay in their restaurant for hours just for free refills of their coffee, perfect place to do school works 🥰
Free coffee refill is expected in Sweden so long as you’re drinking regular coffee. We even have a specific word for it “påtår”.
Whenever we go with the kids we get one soft drink cup and everyone just takes turn getting refills.

IKEA issued a recall for my dresser 20 years after we bought it. It was already a bit broken because I had been over stuffing it. We returned it for a full refund and bought a new dresser that was the same size for less money. Love IKEA

The recall was in 2016 on Malm chests and dressers because of child deaths from unsecured units tipping over. From the IKEA website: "Consumers are entitled to a full refund for chests and dressers manufactured between January 2002 and June 2016. Consumers with chests and dressers manufactured prior to January 2002 will be eligible for a partial store credit."

I often go there just to hang out. I get great ideas, drink a very large coffee, eat gluten free cake and a meal in the restaurant before I leave. I call it IKEA therapy.
A few years ago I had an IKEA right on the route I drove to work, so whenever I felt overtaxed after work I'd stop by for a cheap cinnamon roll and free coffee until I felt like a person again.
It's a good thing my life isn't half as stressful anymore, because now that I've moved to another city the nearest IKEA is much too far away for any kind of leisure visits.
The next time I move I'll have to take closeness to the IKEA into consideration.

Couple of years ago we had a big snowstorm in Denmark (big for us anyways) and some people ended up being snowed in at an IKEA. Tbh, if you have to be stuck somewhere, it's kinda the perfect place for it 😂

One of my favourite memories was driving to Italy and we stopped at IKEA for lunch because they have so much better food than the other cafeterias or fast food places on the autobahn. 10/10 would do again.
i made the mistake of going to an ikea on a saturday a few weeks ago and the shop was overcrowded with people like an anglerfish with teeth. it felt like an amusement park where you bring the whole family along and just happen to buy furniture on the side. children were running around everywhere, not only on the indoor playground, the restaurant was packed to the brim with people and they also bought the last egg slicer before i could fight my way to it. i feel lucky i made it out alive.

IKEA is the only shop I have ever been to where I went in to get some drinking glasses, and left with them, a box of cutlery, a thermos, a night stand, a bed side lamp and a couch... I even had to buy the big 3½-person couch because the 2- and 3-person couch couldn't fit in my car.
