thinking about writing a detailed 120 page fishing book. techniques, fish to target, rigs, reading the beach, ocean conditions and a lot more. Is there any interest in this.....? Be honest!

Awesome channel bro! I just picked up a new deep sea custom rod and a heavy duty penn spinning reel, a lot of old timers are really against spinning reels for deep sea but i've got 300 metres worth of line and i dont really see anything wrong with using spinning reels out deep, whats your take on this?

Fisherman's Life I actually had this idea for a awhile to go for it you'd probably get more exposure than I would considering your fans fishing over here in Florida is very very different from over there but regardless fishing is fishing I'd be on board for your fishing book -tight lines

I love your videos man! Best part of catch and cook is when you get that close up of the cooked fish. Sometimes you don't get that money shot, but when you do it makes my mouth literally water. 🎣

This channel is going somewhere. I know it is. You're a charismatic person who is makes well edited vids and you have a very, most importantly, *professional & positive* concept in your videos. I don't see how anyone could dislike his content! Keep making videos, _Fishermans Life_ ! Subbed since you were at *18k* :)

I really like that you are very every-day, down-to-earth, budget oriented, common outdoors angler in your use of gear, tackle and supplies. Nothing overboard pricey, nothing fancy or expensive. You speak to so many of us.
It is your niche, your strength and why you have so many viewers, subscribers, friends, followers and fans. I'm subscribed. Your outdoors cooking is very good stuff.

its called the highend athlete/forager diet. you eat little bit of food but high in fats. so you have energy during the day to work hard. its called science. high fats allows you to burn that energy right away. if you eat veges/fibres - it burns from your own fat system. but your own fat is low cause you are always foraging moving around. its about your own individual self and how food, activity affects your own body.

Cooking tip, I would salt the fish and cook it first, then when the fish is almost ready.. add butter. The fish will taste better, try it :) Salt will tenderized the meat more than if you use butter from the beginning. Love your videos.. And Butter....

a successful channel like Matt's may yield enough money to live off of. A lot of youtubers get money from youtube and put it back into their business(channel) by buying new gear to provide better videos(camera equipment, mics, in Matt's case, fishing gear too).

just as an option to the knife when using limpets... we used another limpet like a spoon. it lets you scoop the limpet right out without a knife. maybe helping avoid cutting yourself if your hands are cold, wet or clumsy. we also used to snack on them like jerky while waiting for a bite. enjoyed the video thx.

Comin to you from the west coast bringin you some tips 1:that first fish is called a "brown" or a "brown cod" and they get a lot bigger than that. 2:you DO NOT gut then scale unless it is a perch or sanddab you always want to fillet. ( especially if you have kids) they have very thick ribs. 3:you will have way more fun on a party or your own boat you catch more and bigger fish. 3:also try in deep holes in between rocks there might be a fish in there. 4:have a little more patience, sometimes the fish have to swim by it or smell it, or you have to drift into them in order for them to bite it. 5:have fun, explore there are a lot of fish species to "catch and cook" and most of them are delicious, but make sure you have a chart on you so you don't take any illegal fish have fun!

not gonna lie homie, you have motivated me to go ocean fishing/crabbing. I live in Santa Clara about 40 min from Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay and SF, I enjoy freshwater fishing...but who cares about a lake when the Pacific Ocean is soo close?! You had a video where you went to the jettys in HMB and pointed out some cool areas to checkout. so, thats what im gonna do a few weeks from now :) I went to the flea market and got a 12ft rod and saltwater reel for $40 and spent $20 on some basic tackle....pretty excited, a little nervous don't really know what to expect. thanks for the inspiration! keep up the killer work on your videos!

Your pin coming out of your watch band at 10:13 was killing me. I kept imaging myself pushing it back in.

I believe that limpets can only be harvested buy hand, no tools. I haven't checked in awhile. Maybe the rule has changed. We should look into this. Other wise, I did well on my trip yesterday, Four different species of perch. Excellent vid as always Youngen.

love how you really don't waste any meat! lots of these "pro fishers" will fillet the fish and chop it up until there's only a tiny piece of flesh left from a 5lb fish! recently watched a video of these kids "catch and cooking" yet when they went to cook the fish they gutted it, filleted it (useless to gut it?), then when they had the fillets they cut away from all the blood vessels and threw it all out! Good content as always :)

If you do end up reusing or making your own little charcoal cooker
.. you can put them out with water just douse em and let em steam it off.. they'll light up again next time. Tbh get a charcoal chimney and just cook straigbt on top.. do need a spacer but can use your pan or poor coals out into flat ground or rock etc too

That's the best way to cook the fish whole with head and bones. More juicy from the bones. Also if you get a big fish head don't forget to eat the cheeks, the best piece of meat on a large fish. Nice you have inspired me to fish again this summer. Cheers mate
