thinking about writing a detailed 120 page fishing book. techniques, fish to target, rigs, reading the beach, ocean conditions and a lot more. Is there any interest in this.....? Be honest!
Awesome channel bro! I just picked up a new deep sea custom rod and a heavy duty penn spinning reel, a lot of old timers are really against spinning reels for deep sea but i've got 300 metres worth of line and i dont really see anything wrong with using spinning reels out deep, whats your take on this?
Fisherman's Life I actually had this idea for a awhile to go for it you'd probably get more exposure than I would considering your fans fishing over here in Florida is very very different from over there but regardless fishing is fishing I'd be on board for your fishing book -tight lines
I love your videos man! Best part of catch and cook is when you get that close up of the cooked fish. Sometimes you don't get that money shot, but when you do it makes my mouth literally water. 🎣
This channel is going somewhere. I know it is. You're a charismatic person who is makes well edited vids and you have a very, most importantly, *professional & positive* concept in your videos. I don't see how anyone could dislike his content! Keep making videos, _Fishermans Life_ ! Subbed since you were at *18k* :)
I really like that you are very every-day, down-to-earth, budget oriented, common outdoors angler in your use of gear, tackle and supplies. Nothing overboard pricey, nothing fancy or expensive. You speak to so many of us. It is your niche, your strength and why you have so many viewers, subscribers, friends, followers and fans. I'm subscribed. Your outdoors cooking is very good stuff.
its called the highend athlete/forager diet. you eat little bit of food but high in fats. so you have energy during the day to work hard. its called science. high fats allows you to burn that energy right away. if you eat veges/fibres - it burns from your own fat system. but your own fat is low cause you are always foraging moving around. its about your own individual self and how food, activity affects your own body.
Cooking tip, I would salt the fish and cook it first, then when the fish is almost ready.. add butter. The fish will taste better, try it :) Salt will tenderized the meat more than if you use butter from the beginning. Love your videos.. And Butter....
Looking good Matts. I like to see you expanding your adventures to writing a book to guiding expos! Include your Catch n Cook on your guided trips as well! Update us when you get new design and decals! Great job Matts!
That was so epic that the fish you caught had the last 3 baits you lost in its stomache! That fish was seriously greedy and literally pushed his luck 1 times too many. 3rd times the charm lmao
Hi im genard from the phillippines, my father and i really love all of ur video.. watching it is our bonding! Sunday is our fishing day.. we learn a lot from u.. keep it up.. and always make video for us.. 😊😊😊
I'm learning a lot from watching your videos. i am not a beginner but it's always nice to learn more ways of setting the baits, hooks, swivels & sinkers. thank you for every details and tips on every vid. i love your videos :D
Cool tip, if you go to a Korean grocery store (in your case in Oakland or San Jose) they have these grills for pretty cheap. From last I remember at least. Good money saver. Love the videos man, keep it up! You're definitely one of the top anglers I like watching and learning from on youtube. Would love to go fishing with you next time I go back to NorCal. Tight lines man!
I love this guy. I've only been watching for a few days but he's got a really neat life to peek into. I've always thought that exotic fishermen were pretentious but he seems very down to earth. Also he's such a butter lover :3
Matt, I am SUPER curious as to what you do for a living? Whatever it is, it allots you ample time to fish and enough coin to buy all that trick fishing gear.
a successful channel like Matt's may yield enough money to live off of. A lot of youtubers get money from youtube and put it back into their business(channel) by buying new gear to provide better videos(camera equipment, mics, in Matt's case, fishing gear too).
I don't fish but for some reason I can't stop watching your vids bro lol it's chill and relaxing and really cool to see you catch and cook your food right where you fished. I had to subscribe lol
Gotta give you a fist bump man. I haven't ate fish since I was probably 10 years old currently 22 watching your videos on catch and cook pushed me to try it again and yezzes I was missing out on delicious food. Thanks brotha. 👊🏼
You can buy these little square mesh sheets that we used to row up salmon eggs. They work perfect for other baits as well it's a great way to keep your bait on the hook longer especially if you're using something like Heron or mackerel has a cut bait
herping is the search of reptiles and amphibians some people catch them some people observe and photograph them. some people think snakes and frogs are fat cans of nope;).
just as an option to the knife when using limpets... we used another limpet like a spoon. it lets you scoop the limpet right out without a knife. maybe helping avoid cutting yourself if your hands are cold, wet or clumsy. we also used to snack on them like jerky while waiting for a bite. enjoyed the video thx.
You weren't kidding about half a stick of butter! lol! Your videos inspire me to get out. I live in Central California and these spots aren't too far away. Used to freshwater fishing out here.
Cannabis is sadly still illegal in FL. They had the chance to legalize medical last year but they went ahead and fucked that up. Last I was there, it was a charge that leads to jail, not a fine.
You can use the coals as a campfire on the ground too.(surround with rocks, add some sticks to the fire if needed) and then you have the container to use for other things, like boiling water or cooking food..,a table.., a tin hat! :)
as always awesome video! i have only fished saltwater a few times, mainly a freshwater guy. but love watching your videos seeing the different types of fish
Liked, commented, and subscribed. Love your videos homie! Keep up the good work. I can't believe that fish had all you bait inside its stomach! Fishermen's life for life!!!!
Man totally cooked that rock fish! butter! Great Video! catch and cook new way to show noobs how to fish and cook their catch! really interested in your guide, like I say "I'm down!" half moon bay my favorite place!catch you fishing Matts
Comin to you from the west coast bringin you some tips 1:that first fish is called a "brown" or a "brown cod" and they get a lot bigger than that. 2:you DO NOT gut then scale unless it is a perch or sanddab you always want to fillet. ( especially if you have kids) they have very thick ribs. 3:you will have way more fun on a party or your own boat you catch more and bigger fish. 3:also try in deep holes in between rocks there might be a fish in there. 4:have a little more patience, sometimes the fish have to swim by it or smell it, or you have to drift into them in order for them to bite it. 5:have fun, explore there are a lot of fish species to "catch and cook" and most of them are delicious, but make sure you have a chart on you so you don't take any illegal fish have fun!
I used that in Maui, first time using it. I grilled some hot dogs on sugar beach with my girl and watched the sunset after a long drive. great lil kit ☺
I think a great video or friendly reminder video would be about the fishing terminology and what some words like pound test liter 2 odd hooks words like that. maybe some newer people don't know... love the catch n cook video
Nice video mate, New sub here from Australia....love how you keep it simple and not like some fishing people that only use high priced items...Tight lines forever . Cheers Rob
I'm a new subscriber and i'm binge watching, please continue the catch and cook series. I cant fish due to various reasons and those videos make me calm and make me feel like i'm there fishing too! Lol awesome videos btw!
Its funnie how he does simple things and make u stay n watch. I guess he is a cool guy to hang out with. Actually his videos are made like he is actually talking to u one on one.
not gonna lie homie, you have motivated me to go ocean fishing/crabbing. I live in Santa Clara about 40 min from Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay and SF, I enjoy freshwater fishing...but who cares about a lake when the Pacific Ocean is soo close?! You had a video where you went to the jettys in HMB and pointed out some cool areas to checkout. so, thats what im gonna do a few weeks from now :) I went to the flea market and got a 12ft rod and saltwater reel for $40 and spent $20 on some basic tackle....pretty excited, a little nervous don't really know what to expect. thanks for the inspiration! keep up the killer work on your videos!
I believe that limpets can only be harvested buy hand, no tools. I haven't checked in awhile. Maybe the rule has changed. We should look into this. Other wise, I did well on my trip yesterday, Four different species of perch. Excellent vid as always Youngen.

Cashmoney21 I know what it tastes like lmao fish flavored butter
its just a little butter, just a little.
"This guy was hungry , I'm hungry now !" 😂😂😂
I love your videos man! Best part of catch and cook is when you get that close up of the cooked fish. Sometimes you don't get that money shot, but when you do it makes my mouth literally water. 🎣

those little disposable grills are super popular in the uk. during the summer pretty much every shop sells them for cheap.
Would you like some fish with that butter?
You weren't kidding about half a stick of butter! lol! Your videos inspire me to get out. I live in Central California and these spots aren't too far away. Used to freshwater fishing out here.

I really like how your channel is evolving. Keep it up!

I think a great video or friendly reminder video would be about the fishing terminology and what some words like pound test liter 2 odd hooks words like that. maybe some newer people don't know... love the catch n cook video
good tips. I'll remember that
first video of yours I've watched. so glad I found your channel

Just found your channel it's awesome I live in Bakersfield I want to go ocean shore fishing now keep up the great videos
Your pin coming out of your watch band at 10:13 was killing me. I kept imaging myself pushing it back in.
Wow idk but im hungry right now , love your vids . Greetings from South Amarica
Man I’m not a big fan of fish but your videos make me crave it lol
Recently found you channel and ♥️ it. I was more worried about your watch pin falling out. 😂. Great settings I love your catch and cooks!
You should make more videos with the charcoal grill!! Really enjoying your videos man. Make some wanna fish a lot more !
"Fresh frozen anchovies". Awesome! 😂
Matts, do a " Catch and Cook guided tour" of NorCal coast. you will be become a rockstar of the fishing community.
I believe that limpets can only be harvested buy hand, no tools. I haven't checked in awhile. Maybe the rule has changed. We should look into this. Other wise, I did well on my trip yesterday, Four different species of perch. Excellent vid as always Youngen.
The picture quality of your vids are insane!
Finally you come back after a long time waiting.
Love this! Keep up the amazing work you do! Hope to see a lot more in the future!
love how you really don't waste any meat! lots of these "pro fishers" will fillet the fish and chop it up until there's only a tiny piece of flesh left from a 5lb fish! recently watched a video of these kids "catch and cooking" yet when they went to cook the fish they gutted it, filleted it (useless to gut it?), then when they had the fillets they cut away from all the blood vessels and threw it all out! Good content as always :)
If you do end up reusing or making your own little charcoal cooker
.. you can put them out with water just douse em and let em steam it off.. they'll light up again next time. Tbh get a charcoal chimney and just cook straigbt on top.. do need a spacer but can use your pan or poor coals out into flat ground or rock etc too
That's the best way to cook the fish whole with head and bones. More juicy from the bones. Also if you get a big fish head don't forget to eat the cheeks, the best piece of meat on a large fish. Nice you have inspired me to fish again this summer. Cheers mate
That's awesome brother so glad I watch your vidz I am grabbing 10 of those grills !!
So cool how you caught that fish that kept taking your bait and at the end you got to eat him. Food chain bro lol. Your vids are so entertaining and very motivational too! keep it up
just started watching him cant stop watching him always with his butter 😂😂
Cant wait for some new designs!
