I love the neutral decor it’s beautiful. The antique wax on the fireplace is gorgeous ❤️. Try a magic eraser on your mirror. Get it a bit wet then scrub it and clean with glass cleaner. I clean all my mirrors that way and they always sparkle.

Your mantle looks beautiful. The best glass cleaner I have ever used is Sprayway glass cleaner . It always leaves the windows , mirrors , glass shower doors perfect every time.you can buy it at Walmart, Lowe’s even grocery stores. Hope it will work for your mirror.

Everything is just beautiful! That fireplace amazing! The rug is so gorgeous as well!
Try just good old fashion Dawn dishsoap on the mirror. Sometimes there is a coating that glass cleaner just moves around. Also I use newspaper, so it doesn't have that little tiny lint anywhere or dust whatever it is, just annoyes me. Some mirrors are hard I had one from pier one that was an antigue finish & the actual finish keep coming off & made it very hard to clean properly!

@@houseandholm 💖 make it shine. I did mean to add the Dawn to water, just a little does the job. Soapy water cleansing almost anything.

Good morning Skye. I watched this video about three times it so stunning. If you tried everything including vinegar, alcohol or shaving cream on the mirror and it's an antique, it's probably the silver backing. You can have it repaired or chalk it up as part of it's charm. ❤️

Your decor and mantle are just lovely. The mirrors old backing might be making the marks through the glass. But if not and there’s a residue on the surface, I use hot water and magic eraser followed up with a wipe and buff with a dry cotton or norwex cloth.

Your new home is absolutely so warm and cozy with all your Christmas decor! I love the tree and the mantle. When we lived in Columbia SC we used to travel up to Concord, NC and go to Concord Mill, one of my most favorite antiquing places. I really miss going there. Looks great! Thanks for sharing! Literally plain water on a paper towel will clean your mirror too! :) just wipe the water off with a dry paper towel and you're good to go! Great for cleaning windows too!
Your house looks beautiful! No smudges or smearing with Spray Way (in the can) or Jaws Glass Cleaner & use a Glass E-loth to clean it with. I was using Spray Way, but when I ordered the Jaws Cleaning Set, I am loving it just the same!

Love the way you have decorated your home, so beautiful, calm and cozy! The antique wax brought the fireplace to another level, it’s gorgeous! I have used a combination of half vinegar and half water in a spray bottle to clean my mirrors.

Hello Skye ! Sorry so late seeing this video…OH MY ..THE MANTEL.. Stunning stunning stunning! Chad did an excellent job on that. Your eye goes right to it and it looks like you pulled it out of an old home and reinstalled it just as it was. It is the star of the room! With your white walls, light tone flooring…excellent choice ! Excellent choice !
I have seen other mirrors like yours have a film on it. It never comes clean. It is something in the glass , a film 🤷♀️ I use the old fashion window clean.I make it 1/3 cup of rubbing alcohol, 1/3 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of vinegar. I make a big bottle of it. Maybe that would work or straight alcohol 🤷♀️…. That is to bad. Maybe you need to take the back off the mirror and see what is going on behind it? Might have to re- mirror it…( I know that is not a word…but you know what I mean I hope )

You are exactly right! The more I’ve tried to clean it, this is the conclusion that I’ve come to! There’s some sort of film on it that just doesn’t want to come clean. I’m going to try your solution and see if I have any luck! Thank you!!! 🥰

Everything looks amazing, I love the rustic fireplace. We always tend to see the same white fireplaces, so love seeing something different that is equally classic. When you do end up doing window treatments, please share all the details, because I have not gotten any in the 4 years I've lived in my home because I'm so scared of failing to get the right ones. Your guidance/inspiration could be the push I need to go ahead with a plan!

There's a product called Peel Stop that works great on chippy pieces. I don't know if it's paintable.

On cleaning your mirror. Try just lightly damp microfiber cloth with water only and wipe clean. Or use Sprayway Glass Cleaner(a little goes a long way 😀)

Hi Skye! Everything looks beautiful! Love the contrast of the fireplace against the walls. Was your tree a Noble Fir? I was trying to find it online. I have a King of Christmas flocked tree which I purchased a couple years ago and love it so much but I may want to get a green one and flip between two rooms… probably not this year but maybe next. Have to see if my current tree would fit into the other room. But if I do get one, I want one similar to yours. Are all the garlands on your mantle from your shop? Are you attaching with push pins? Thanks and I hope I can try to see how I may sneak a peak at your shop on Monday but with work, I usually don’t have the time to get on til later in the day. I use Windex Foaming Glass Cleaner on a mirror that’s about 60 years old snd I think it works great. But yes it’s not completely perfect.

Thank you! We just used a white flat paint. It was Sherwin Williams, but ultimately doesn’t matter.

I would try vinegar and water mixed in a spray bottle and use news paper to wipe it with. That should leave it smudge and streak free! 😊❤

Are you sure there isn’t a protective film on the mirror? If not try water and white vinegar to clean it.

I know what works for me and I have been using it for years, rubbing alcohol .. pour it in a squirter bottle and spray on wipe off with paper towels. Cheapest cleaner you will ever find.. Maybe try it a couple of times to cut thru all the fog of other cleaners that always leave a mess. I use it on top of my counter to wipe up the Mrs. Meyers stuff.. LOL
