I like the lore of the remnants. You become bound to an object and obsessed with it. By making the car a main mode of transportation and needing it to be repaired constantly, it forces the player to quite literally be obsessed with the car.
Thats what i also thought! At first I was like „Yea the charcter will go crazy at some point“ But after he found the paint it made sense. You not only repair it and need it. You also can customize it. And you will spend much time with it and it will safe you often. Such an awesome 4th wall mechanik kinda
Its even proven in his gameplay, when the car brings him back to the auto shop after he gets swallowed by the void the first thing he does is collect supplies from the dumpster to fix THE CAR and then he goes to heal himself. Its a genius move on the developers part and a very clever way to portray the protagonists growing madness I am thoroughly impressed

@@yggdrasilburnes I find elite dangerous to be fun personally, just going around, smacking pirates, selling loot, doing quests. But obviously not for everyone.
I like how the things you do in the game are explained and part of the story as well as the lore. “People who are bound to remnants become obsessed with them,” is obviously the game’s way of explaining the player’s behavior because everything you will do in this game is essentially you obsessing over the vehicle/ remnant. It’s brilliant!

As a former resident of the Puget sound, this is relatively accurate for the peninsula. Though it's missing flannel, beard oil, an REI and absurd amounts of traffic due to tourists (out of state ones). I'm honestly surprised the game designers didn't implement tolls somewhere in the zone.
As a long time gamer I have now officially given up trying to understand what goes through the minds of these devs to come up with truly crazy stuff like this.
Look off the novel Roadside Picnic. Most of these stories are based off of it. Stalker, metro, Atomic heart, encased, and this game all run more or less with some of themes of the book. The zones in Stalker, Encased, and this game where reality is changed. Paranormal elements, and bizarre science. Artifacts left behind with strange abilities beyond our comprehension. Stalkers, and scientists entering these zones for money, fame, or seeking something to save themselves. Mutant horrors from those left behind, and things from other realities entering.
That's what I love about games like this. They may have their formula (loot, build, explore, repeat) but the core of it is maintaining curiosity and some semblance of sanity in an inherently unknowable environment. Even the designers don't know the true scale of the horror of their little universe.

A family station wagon offroading through the forest without bottoming out or getting stuck is the most supernatural part of this game so far. I'm chalking that up to remnant superpowers. How do you get unstuck without a tow truck anyway?

Parts of this remind me of a dream I had a long time ago. It was the apocalypse, lava spewing everywhere, earth shattering, and various other disasters and I was driving a car with some survivors in it. I just kept driving as fast as possible, the roads would get blocked off and I'd drive up the banking jumping over pools of lava, fallen trees, molten boulders, etc. Shit looked like the driving scene from 2012 lol. Haven't thought about that dream in awhile but this game reminds me of it quite a bit, despite this being more supernatural based.

DUDE! The voice acting in this game is incredible!!! Oppy and Tobias both came off as totally fleshed out, believable as fuck characters in their introductions, and then the opening was so beautifully designed and intuitive and cohesive. I think I'm going to buy this game on principle alone so long as it doesn't go to shit later in the video (which I very highly doubt). Haven't thought about that dream in awhile but this game reminds me of it quite a bit, despite this being more supernatural based.
do more on this please, this has got me extremely intruiged and i love your videos IGP your are one of my most favorite youtubers out there...love ya dude
Can I just say that the music and atmosphere is freaking phenomenal.
I started watching because the concept seemed interesting, I stayed because of the absolutely surprised "excuse me!" as you were pulled into the first new area
i CANNOT WAIT for this game to come out. I need more of this.
Oh, absolutely fantastic. Please play more of this.😊
igp play the game "do you copy" it has a sequel too, like this comment so it reaches igp
Make this a series. We want to see more.
I want to see more of this!
DAMNIT IGP! The 1st video of yours to be recommended to me in 2 years and it's the start of a game I now MUST play! Keep the content coming good Sir!
the fact that this game is set in my home state of Washington concerns me.
42:10 don’t apologize for exploring, i love this type of stuff, honestly if i was playing this game i would have still been at the auto garage fixing my car and destroying things for scrap and parts cause i love building and fixing things up, it reminds me of house flipper and powerwash simulator
Yo! I love this! I love the simplicity of 3 voices, crafting shit, keeping your new obsession alive and pretty, and avoiding radiation and exploding mannequins and aliens, and driving. I would NEVER play this game. It’s too scary. But I love watching you play through it!
That "uh oh," glance down at your dead car, and dead pan back out the windshield earned you a subscriber. 😂
WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS GAME?! it looks GORGEOUS AND it's an intensely suspenseful game
coz it's still in development.
Im pretty sure the driver was delivering packages to seattle (took the ferry from british Columbia), but got sucked into the exclusion zone
IGP, Brother, this would make a good series
You work as a dang good advertisement cause now I just pre ordered it did not even know we had a game like this in the works
Hey man the full game is out, please play it again
I don't get a lot of free time to watch videos anymore, but I was *really* hoping you'd post a video on this game! I hope you play more!!
This game is very interesting! I hope you do a series on this game once it fully releases!
👍❤
dude.. the fact you started singing Rage after she said "guerilla radio" is awesome.. I started singing it immediately as soon as she said it, and then you started with the guitar part; i love it lol
Oh my lord! When you honked the horn my cat literally lifted her head up and looked around like where is that noise coming from? 😂 anyways, I always look forward to your videos! They put a smile on my face! ❤
Fuggin jealous you get to play it early, looks so fun
This game comes out a day after my birthday, and I've been waiting for it since the reveal trailer. I'm so glad we get to see more game play of it.
Hi what's the name of ?
@@horiansoltani9256pacific drive?
My family lives up near Dungeness, this is 100% factual. Raedeon, Boeing, Microsoft etc are all up there and do ‘testing’ on ‘native land’. It’s wild.
My first time seeing this channel. At the start when he started reading, I thought it was an actual in-game narration. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a history in voice acting! Very cool video and cool game :3 Nice job
Nothing like a cold, snowy night and weekend to snuggle up warmly while watching IGP 😊 It's hilarious watching you alternate between fear and curiosity 😄 and driving just adds to the awesomeness 👌🏾 I hope you continue this game!
Man oh man the amount of stuff you walked right past without scrapping made me skip the rest of the video.
ya he is streamer you.. aloser XD

Aight kid
I can't wait for Pacific Drive to come out, I've been waiting for the release for a while!
Edit at 19:40: Nope, fuck this, I'm buying it right now and playing it tomorrow without any further spoilers. This game looks like exactly the kind of rare horror game that is directly up my alley.
Edit two minutes later: Damnit, forgot this was a preview. Only five and a half weeks until I can get it, though!
I know right, pre ordered it as well; interesting as heck game. I love horror games that are more atmospheric and dread-focused over ones that shell out excessive jump scares. This game checks out all of the boxes for me.
your comment was an emotionel journy bro
@@rectumm you ain't wrong
How did playing it go? As it's still not out yet?
@@rectummrectum? Damn near killed em.
