Thanks for the info, as a new home garden grower, how much of the diluted seawater should I use every two weeks to water my peppers? I know it all in the video but just a little clarification.
My recipe is 30g of sea salt in 1L of water to make "seawater", then dilute that in 1:25 ratio to water my peppers. So about 40ml of seawater for 1L of water. does that makes sense?? Thanks!

He recommends applying highly diluted sea salt, along with anaerobic plant liquid, every 1-2 weeks. As long as it is properly diluted (500g sea salt in 20L water) and you apply to the soil for a week or two *before* planting, it can be given safely and should definitely help micronutrients. organic Bloodmeal fertilizer can also help with this--blood is like seawater.

  • @bluejay3945

I read that we currently understand about 0.04% of soil biology so I’m concerned with a few things in regard to using sea water. For example, there are several metals like arsenic, vanadium, etc that while may be necessary is micro amounts surety are not necessary is large amounts.
There is very limited information about mobility of these metals in soil so long term soil accumulation may impact either soil or may enter the crop.
I think products like Sea 90 list over 73 elements. I believe soil scientists understand somewhat 27 element interactions between plants and soil so there is a significant gap in knowledge.
I bought a bag of Sea -90 and I believe it states to discontinue applications after 4 years and the application rate is very small to begin with.
Can you provide any peer reviewed studies that demonstrate long term applications of sea water are beneficial? Thank you

The good effects on the plant are obvious but what effect, if any, does JMS have on the worms?
      2. Would yeast be a good substitute for leaf litter, or could it be used as an additive, to the JMS solution?

There is no need to use extra salt at the beach.

I am on the west side of Florida and collected a half gallon of water from the beach, a few blocks from my house, to start using it on my plants. I read to use a ratio of 1 to 30 parts dilution. But I doubled it the amount of water, and am using it as a foliar spray at first, but plant to also use it in the soil. I don't want to harm the plants, and since I am new to this, am proceeding with caution. I believe that sea water is so totally underutilized for agriculture, and since it is free, shame on us.

Calculate the amount of salt based on the area. It uses approximately 20 kg of salt per 1/4ac. You can divide this weekly, and use it monthly.
