The really cool thing about environmental anxiety is that it makes you feel anxious when listening with all that’s going on in the production… it’s not everybody’s taste but it’s definitely art.
Just back to say hi and so proud of our girl Raye and her SIX Brit awards! So happy for her after the diss by the Grammys. Between her wins and the medley she performed I'm hoping the world is about to learn who Raye is! btw. I think I've watched this review 5 or 6 times now.... lolz
she's so incredible - when I first heard this album I genuinely could not believe how I hadn't heard most of it before. she's truly an insane artist and so lovely also
One of the times it would mean even more to you if you knew a little of her backstory. Such a celebration of her independence and finally getting her project out into the world. I've watched about 5 reactions to this early AOTY and New Artist Grammy contender and I enjoyed yours the most. Thanks for doing the Tiny Desk bonus. As an FYI... there is an hour long live set of RAYE performing her album available on UA-cam. Just search for "Raye - Live at City Sessions Los Angeles". It is totally worth your time
Black Mascara is the only true dance track on the album. Dance music was pretty much the only music that RAYE was allowed to sing while with her previous label. This album is very different from most of her past music, so she added one dance track on there! So full circle, I love this album so much, I’ve been waiting for like 6+ years! ❤️🔥
I'm very late to Raye, about 5 days now really. Saw her on SNL but I honestly didn't know what I was witnessing/hearing... I literally couldn't process the incredible masterful 'greatness' I was hearing. Your full reaction helped confirm in some of the ways I was experiencing my 🤯 was similar to yours, but you articulated very, very well... outstanding perceptions and insights. Good work. Can't wait until you her incredible OPUS that is Genesis Parts 1-3, the 7 minute plus story of her, and our, lifetimes. Such an incredible work. Cheers 🥂
I adore Raye! love love this album. Reason this is her 1st album is her prev record compay kept her in a preditory contract. She was signed to release 4 albums starting from when she was 17 years old but they didnt allow her to release even one. She got out of her contract in 2022 (i believe) and is now independent! Also the reason she said all the songs sound all diffrent is because she wrote most of these songs over the past 7 years and they were supposed to go on her debut albums, which never happened. The label would contantly lie over the past 7 years and promise her debut albums multiple times. Each time they promised her an album she would create a diffrent type of album . If this material is 7 years old, i cant wait to see the new stuff she can come up with now. Raye said song writing is her super power and i 1000% agree. She wrote for alot of other artist (Beyonce, John Legend, Ellie Golding, Madison Beer and soo many more). Def check out her song writing credits! Shes in the top 100 streamed artist on spotify and in the world!
thank you so much for providing that context! i am literally obsessed with her rn and that info makes me even more impressed. as you mentioned, if this is her old work i can only imagine what she’ll make now!!
So glad you reacted to this album. I’ve been following Raye for years (since seeing her supporting Halsey on tour) - she has a great Dance Pop EP called Euphoric Sad Songs which I adore and because of that I adore her song Black Mascara most but I’m so happy she is getting to do what she wants now. Really excited to see her live in September! I thi k you’d really enjoy her EP euphoric sad songs and (because you like Ava Max) Bebe Rexha has a great disco pop album that came out today!
lol not me reading this comment as i’m listening to black mascara 😂 love it. i didn’t realize she had an ep! also that’s amazing you’ll see her live again. ooh interesting, if i have time i’ll check it out! 🩵
The BEST reaction ever! You were going through it in the end & I LOVED it! I had the exact experience and literally became INSTANTLY OBSESSED with her in every way 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
After all this years, she finally had a chance to make this album and let me say it loud and clear: It's one of the best albums this year, if not the best. In all those songs you can hear pain, honesty, freedom and you can hear Raye! She writes her own music, we know that, but she's also a producer and she co-produced almost all of the songs in this album! She is super talented. She's an amazing human being and she really deserves a better recognition. I wish her all the best, she deserves it ❤
I’m so happy for Raye she’s kinda been a dance track feature girl for a while (likely due to her label) I’m glad she was finally able to release an album.
@@BethThereseReacts it’s 9 songs, 31 minutes of PURE POP PERFECTION imo. I think this was during the time when her label wouldn’t let her release her album.
I have the most exciting news to share gurl!! I AM SEEING RAYE IN ATL TUESDAY WITH THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!!! YAS gawd! I’m blessed to share this moment with the sweetest most beautiful man……She will be there with Kali Uchis (who also has released a darn great R&B album)
No cus the way I got a sneak peek for this video! I had followed u on Spotify and noticed your most recent artist listened too was raye, I had feeling this video was coming❤😂
So happy you reacted to this album! This and preachers daughters by Ethel Cain are AOTY in my opinion….really hoping you’ll do Preachers Daughter soon!
@@BethThereseReacts Yeah.. the songs are really haunting and beautiful at the same time idk 😅 i think the album will reflect on freedom and her ongoing legal battle with an old producer..
This was something else, like what? Amazing album, amazing reaction! 🍀 Oh and I don't like Cheek to cheek that much as well. Maybe you would like Gagas Westfield concert. It has the same vibe as her jazz at the Oscars.
The thrill is gone is not a jazz song at all, it is a R&B/Funk song, that's why it has brass and loud drums, which you never meet in jazz music. This is also the reason many compare her to Amy Winehouse, because that kind of R&B sound was famous with Amy. (And the whole album too, there's no jazz at all, there's some blues influence, but the majority sound that you described was R&B :)
I'm telling you if they do another James Bond movie she better be 1st pick to sing the theme 🥴!! Never watched a James bond movie 🤣🤣🤣 but I will if this happens 🤣! She is annointed forsure ✨️✨️
I just recently bought this album. It appears that the recording studio mess up with the recording, the Escapism track has way too much gain, it sounds distorted and horrible to listen to. Radio 1's live lounge did a much better copy
Album of the year. Fight me.
i’m thinking the same 💯💯💯
Fight you? If anything I'm supporting you
No fight to fight. Period. Im with you.
not gonna
Fight you? Ima fight with ya, best album of the year
Oscar Winning Tears is one of the best first tracks i've ever heard. so great start to the album
right 😭😭😭
black mascara i ever put out
*INSTANT CLASSIC MASTERPIECE*
A clear Album of the year and album of the century ❤

ohh that makes sense! literally love that song now 🩵
So so happy you love the album! And love that you watched tiny desk too. So many great moments in that performance. Raye is a treasure ✨
🩵🩵🩵 she really is!!!

YES a lot of people are finding out about her and it’s so easy to fall in love with her
Please PLEASE react to RAYEs 21st Century Symphony - the live album with full orchestra and choir - LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE
i know raye since like 2015 ( i feel like she was bigger in europe already back then) But she was more of an featured artist on like edm/house music
Omg I love raye. I would totally love to see your reaction to Euphoric Sad Songs. It’s like a collection of fun pop songs she did. Its my fav
i had no idea she had an ep!!

Oscar winning tears live at royal Albert hall is a very good example of her vocal mastery.
Such an underrated singerr likee howw??! she deserves the world 🤯

One of the best reactions I’ve watched for this album…Thoroughly enjoyed!
So happy Raye is getting more recognition!!!

You should check out her first EP too! 😊
You must be so glad you had that dream 😊

Hey Beth! Do you have plans to react too ‘That! Feels Good!’, the new album by Jessie Ware? It just came out today 😁
TBD! :)
“I’m excited for ice cream man” me, out loud: you just played yourself 😂
All went down when Flip a Switch appeared. I’ll love if the album would’ve finish on Ice Cream Man. 😞
YESS YOU DID MY SUGGESTION! TYSM
🩵🩵🩵
I love your reviews ❤
omgg i'm so happy you're getting into RAYE, btw I was wondering if you'd listen to Jessie Ware's newest album
great reaction
if i have time i might! thank you so much 🩵
Idk if anyone explained this but “hard out here” is basically about her struggle with her old label
Underrated album from this year for sure! Also you’ll love the new Jessie Ware album if you liked what’s your pleasure
I'm telling you if they do another James Bond movie she better be 1st pick to sing the theme 🥴!! Never watched a James bond movie 🤣🤣🤣 but I will if this happens 🤣! She is annointed forsure ✨️✨️
can you react to Walk Me Home by Benson Boone? Or his new ep that comest out may 5th? Love your videos! Keep up the good work!
thank you!! if i have time i will check it out :)
FINALLY
I'vr only listened to this album once but watching your reaction made me realise I need to listen to it more.
Also 1:04:19 is my favourite part, lol 😅

Please give a reaction to Madison Beer's LIFE SUPPORT album, one of the best debut albums
Heyyy, Jessie Ware has released the new album “That! Feels Good!”, you should definitely check it out (I find it better than What’s Your Pleasure)
Ice cream man is awsome but so sad.
you listened to Oscar Winning Tears at Albert Hall yet?
I cannot like this video enough
❤❤❤
🩵🩵🩵
She should have smashed the Grammies. What is wrong with the industry.
Please react to Bebe Rexha's new album BEBE! It's full of bangers
I just recently bought this album. It appears that the recording studio mess up with the recording, the Escapism track has way too much gain, it sounds distorted and horrible to listen to. Radio 1's live lounge did a much better copy
Thank you, Beth!! I hadn't even heard of this artist, but you got me hooked with your review! Such a great album!! Much love ❤✌
