Such elegance . It is like my Krieghoff drilling or my shotguns. I believe that one could find a Krieghoff for any shooting need
my lokal dealer use the semprio in his shooting cinema for more than 60000 shots now without any damage of the gun ...the precision is still in the range of 2-3cm on 100m

I really want one of these rifles. My only detracting comment is that the "safe-to-carry position" invites dirt and debris into the action. Safe, perhaps, but not ideal.

Just carry it with the cocking plunger in the uncocked (rearward) position... totally safe... like carrying hammer down on a DA/SA handgun with a firing pin interceptor/block.
It's for range purposes. Not for hunting purposes.

Different does not mean better. This action would be very combersome to use in any position other than standing upright. Shooting from prone with a bipod is not even an option. What is the advantage? Fast follow up shot? This advantage is moot as moving the entire barrel and fore end of the rifle will cause excess motion and swing vs. a traditional bolt only movement or automatic operation like the BAR. I see no advantage to this at all.
It's a gun specifically made for German driven game shooting. Where nearly all shots are taken from a standing position on close but fast targets (often multiple ones). And semi-autos are legally limited to only 2 rounds in the Magazine.
For that application (and only that), it is quite the elegant solution.

Not liking it from an aesthetically point of view is very much a valid feeling to have.
But to use your metaphor: It's mostly like a go-cart. Quite nice and good in its intended role, but definitely not made for driving off-road.

Well, there were pump action rifles before. But the semprio is probably shorter. But also you have to pump more weight than a normal pump action.

Naja, Krieghoff macht tolle Sachen, aber der Sinn dieser Büchse erschließt sich mir nicht. Der Verdacht kommt auf, als wollte man halt mal etwas anders machen als alle anderen...egal ob sinnvoll oder nicht. Würde immer einen konventionellen Repetierer vorziehen (und tue des auch). Wenn es schneller gehen muss/soll, halt nen Halbautomaten.

Это для понтов в кине....вроде как классно и красиво,а в жизни,оптика двигается вместе с цевьем и каждый раз стрелок будет подстраиваться под нее после каждого выстрела....а в итоге,скажу по русски.....дерьмо ..красиво только в кино,на показуху рекламы !!!!!!!!
