I can’t help but feel like hospitals should enforce mandatory DNA tests before allowing someone to leave with a baby, to prevent a kidnapping or an accidental swap. If the DNA doesn’t match, then either a doctor or one of the biological parents could explain the situation. In that case, it would most likely be that the parents decided to give the child up for adoption.

@cute2neko that isn't a matter of control. It could be some sort of instantaneous test done right there at the entrance (once those exist, of course). If the results match, or they don't for a valid reason, they are free to go. If they dont match and no good explanation is given, they are taken to security to decide upon further action.

      @ hannah krug
Yes! While I agree that raising a physically or mentally disabled child isn’t ideal or easy all the time (medical bills, support, etc), it’s those kids who need the love and support of their parents the most. It’s hard enough when they attend school and hardly make friends and struggle harder than their peers or going out in public and feel like they’re being judged and stared at. But being abandoned by parents……the very same people who should love them unconditionally, is way worse.

Did Marcus's ex-wife seriously not think the truth would come out eventually? If they live in the same town, it was inevitable that Marcus or Pamela would have seen their biological daughter and started looking. Also, Olivias' physical features would have become to apparent that, if someone questioned them when they were teens, they would've sought the truth themselves. Rose hurt everyone; her mother by basically cutting her out of her life, Marcus by lying to him for years, Pamela by stealing her child and both of the girls(but especially her biological daughter because she didn't want to have a child whose blind).

As someone who almost got swapped at the hospital when I was born, I think your father totally did the right thing! 👍
Some people may consider it controlling or paranoid, but considering things like in this story also happen in real life, it is quite understandable! And only wanting to keep an eye on your newborn child isn't hurting anybody anyways!
Is it possible though for the fathers/people close to the parents to actually be present at all times when the child needs to be taken away for checkups and everything?
Because if I'll ever have kids, I would want someone to be able to make sure my child will be okay and returned to me!

@@Aruna_Shadows yes, it is possible for a family member to be with the baby at all times. I know because I’m perfectly healthy. If you say that you want someone with your baby, then doctors should be okay with that.
And think about it. If doctors are hesitant to let a family member watch the baby, then they’re probably trying to do something they shouldn’t be doing. From my perspective it’s “if I can’t witness what you’re about to do to my baby, then it must not be that important.”
As you said, there’s nothing wrong with someone wanting to make sure they’re newborn is okay at all times.

Darn Darn right! I don't care how slighted that horrible witch felt by having a disabled parent just because her mom was not normal enough for her it's no excuse to be a kidnap and innocent child then ditch your biological one for not being physically perfect!
