Ellen Kennedy was fantastic as Kyoko. Maison Ikkoku might be Rumiko Takahashi’s masterpiece, and Ellen’s performance was one of the dub’s highlights. It’s nice that she stuck with the entire series, unlike almost everyone else that got recast after the dub’s long hiatus. I’m sure you’re trying, but it would be so neat if you got Saffron Henderson too. I don’t think she’s been interviewed in 20 years. She also has some cool live action credits.
Chris your on a roll recently with getting these underrated and forgotten voice actors who never had any interviews before. Great job! Try going for more of the Hamtaro English dub cast like Chantal Strand which I adore for her roles like Cassie From Dragon Tales and Bijou from Hamtaro, and Jillian Michaels who did Panda and Shippo from Inuyasha.
I have an appreciation for Vancouver-based VAs, since Krypto the Superdog consisted entirely of Vancouver-based VAs, and they made up a majority of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s cast, and each have been among my favorite animated shows. Ellen did quite well as Brainy Barker in Krypto the Superdog, as well as her handful of one-shot MLP roles, each of which sound distinct from each other (I’m guessing they edited her voice for the Chimera specifically as the tiger)!
KYOKO OTONASHI?! I'm shocked to find this video! My heart is throwing up over trying to listen for any moments of times I can hear Kyoko's tones coming from you, Kennedy! ❤ An few moments later update! Her merely SAYING THE TITLE of that Anime I can notice 'Kyoko'! ❤🥲
Definitely an underrated talent for sure. To know DBZ was the first time I heard her perform during the time where the Canadian actors were initially utilized. To hear her in other shows afterwards definitely hits the light bulb. Kirby Morrow is the same way too.

Thank you, based off of your other comments we think exactly like in terms of VAs, haha. You're right about Saffron. Hoping to hear something soon!

Thank you! I'll definitely try!
Have you seen my interview with Chiara Zanni? She'd never done one before either
@@ChrisMayek Oh I seen the interview before. You did it wonderfully!

My favorite character she does is Mrs Pteranodon from Dinosaur Train
Good stuff man!
Great to see an interview with Kyoko Otonashi herself!
If I remember correctly, she was Finn and Kiki on Dragon Tales.
Where's the part where she talked about Hamtaro in this interview? I couldn't find it.
Destiny in X-Men Evolution Grandma Pocket in Polly Pocket Red Cap in The Hollow and Princess Snake in the infamous Ocean Group dub of Dragon Ball Z.
Not everyone in the OG DBZ dub is bad, by far
@@ChrisMayek I nearly forgot how that dub launched the voice acting careers of the people who worked on it.
I Love Ellen Kennedy As Connie In Molly Of Denali.
Interesting interview. Samurai troopers? did you mean ronin Warriors?
Yes. Since that's what Matt Hill referred to it as back when I interviewed him, that was why
Misha Miramond
I finished Maison Ikkoku a few weeks ago and she was PHENOMENAL as Kyoko her performance is in my top 10 dub performances
