Bamboo can grow up to 1 meter a day! Stronger than steel by weight. There is strong push by Dept of Agriculture around the world to push this permaculture in their regions. Amazing!!! Bamboo houses are ideal, I think, at the countryside of tropical countries like the Philippines. This is cooler during summer days. There is no need of Air Conditioning Apliances and/or Electric fans. AURAPHIL thanks for sharing. God bless!!

Proper treatment of the bamboo is crucial along with specific building techniques and maintenance. It is for example most important to avoid direct contact with soil, sun or rain to ensure the durability of bamboo.
Highly trained and skilled workers can build a standard bamboo house from scratch in 2 months, all depends of the design of course.

All the sites I see it listed under refer to it as a "log cabin" or "log home". One in particular says it is made from Santol wood:

"Santol, or cottonfruit is quite common in the Philippines. What most people don’t realize, however, is that the santol fruit is ideal as a wood alternative. While the material is less dense compared to other wood variants, it is actually very easy to work with. With correct curing, this wood is highly resistant to wood borers, making it ideal to use as skeletal framework."
Whether that is true or not, you can see that it is straight wood (logs) rather than rounded bent bamboo.
Not only is it rigid, but it also appears larger and thicker than most bamboo. Here is the clearest photo I could find of that same house.

(It also shows bears at the bottom, carved out of wood. That would not be typical of a bamboo house. It is also in a country lake setting, rather than tropical.)
