This is something I’ve personally been considering installing throughout my house. I have hearing-impaired grandparents and the strobes would definitely help wake them up, in addition to being able to integrate with my MS-10UD system in the basement thanks to existing wiring from our old security system
Mhm, moreso if you get either models with "CSX" in the model number or newer versions, as both have a wire to activate the strobe with, thus you could have the FACP trip the strobes on them for added warning (though sadly Gentex doesn't sell this particular series anymore).
Yup, because us deaf/hard of hearing folk need something that really gets our attention.. the 125 candela versions barely cut it for some, because some of us need the brightness to alert us from a deep sleep.
Even though all these devices are discontinued, the actual strobe, model GXS-120177, is still in production. I believe with Gentex's current relay alarms, you can hook a GXS up to them, kind of making it like this type of system.
@@SERSafety yea that’s because I have a silver version of that Schlage fe595 keypad lock! The fe575 is autolock only not flex lock where passage mode can be turned on
I have one in my house at hallway. Because I’m deaf required that smoke alert but this Louisiana law just pass required come with Carbon Dioxide and smoke alert. That meaning I will get other one.
I think it’s really cool that Gentex made these alarms, and I enjoyed them in action!
Really dig the different sounds the various models make. Those strobes are BRIGHT too.
Ahhh yes the unsynchronized strobes. Reminds me of the old alarms that were at my elementary and middle school.
Sounds and looks like a demon is coming 😈 👿

You can still get gentex smoke alarms with an alarm relay that can activate a strobe
@@The09creeper Yes, but like I said the ones that have a strobe _on_ them Gentex no longer makes.
THAT IS LOUD!!!!
177 candela is crazy. For reference, most commercial fire alarm strobes only go up to 125.

I lobe the Gentex residential NA It reminds me of a real building even though it's a house great video and soundoff.
This is my favorite video
Ya know if someone was hard of hearing & had photo sensitive epilepsy this would not be good for that person
Ser:talking
Gentex alarms: *chirp chirp chirp*

Those are my favorite alarms!
THE DETECTORS SOUND LIKE THEY'RE TALKING TO EACH OTHER XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Cool Video!!! I have seen a Gentex Smoke Detector before. But the one I saw, didn't have the Strobe. It was just like a Typical Smoke Detector.
I've got a similar model, though it doesn't have a strobe, it's a 710CS from 1987.
Lol at 0:05 the four of them started doing a low battery chirp after the start of the video. It kind of sounded like they were greeting us lol.
Btw I saw two older gentex smoke alarms with strobes in a hotel room. Cool video cause that’s the only place I saw them in real life.
Thank you for testing fire alarms 😂
Hey, @SERSafety what device was this video recorded with, and what kind of phone do you have? iPhone or Android?
What pilots hear when the plane is flying too low to the ground 🤣
I just ordered one.
Have heard of UK alarm apollo could be cool to check out.

I want one!

🔥🔥🔥
The chirping is really making me angry lol
Your house will never burn with so many fire alarms 😂😂😂
👍
This looks like Gentex took a old home smoke detector and slapped the strobe of a Gentex shg on there
That's basically what they did, sorta lazy but it works.
I seen it at Burger King
I don't like the kind of the flash light ....oucy the eyes
Face reveal
