We'll be back! If you are serious, send the location of your property and acreage to info@GrowingDeer.com
I own 42 acres that’s half pulp wood and half blend of mature pine, hardwoods, sweet gum, and poplar. It’s been a struggle to find any timber crews to cut it. Maybe eventually someone will be willing to cut it. I know it’s not worth a lot of money but it’s worth something.
Glenn - The pine market is very low in most place. I have clients with 800 acres and great timber that can't get it cut. it seems the timber market a bit closer to the coast is more active in many states.
I’m in central Georgia and the timber market seems non existent. Planning to do a controlled burn next year and select some areas of hack and squirt on the sweet gums and poplars.
I removed 80 pines this winter as part of Grants plan. Zero timber market for logs. I pulled all the stumps and suggest the same for others. It’s not that much additional cost.
Nice work!
Grant what do you do to the stumps. Dig them up, grind or leave and plant around them
Burning
Frank - in the timber the stumps are left. In plots I prefer to remove them and level the field. Stumps will rot out and leave big holes in plots.
Who is the forester? Steve who?
David - if you have timber to cut send me an email at info@GrowingDeer.com
Inexpensive microphones designed for run and gun can significantly enhance the quality of your videos.
Yup - I agree. We were focused on the management plan on this trip and weren't prepared to film. May bad!
You ain’t seen nothing yet. 😂
I would really like for you guys to do some segments on how you contract and work with loggers and timber brokers. Expectations by the land owner and how the logging project actually ends up can be vastly different! It's a subject you really need to talk about. I am looking at significant costs to clean up my property that I was not expecting!
He said Steve, is that Mr Chapman y’all are working with?
Sorry - I don't know Mr. Chapman.
You can hear the excitement and happiness in Doc’s voice to see his plan implemented.
Haha, liked that little boy playing around at the end 👍👍😂😂
Awesome update!
