The view of most "Trump supporters" (I put that in quotes because not everyone that didn't vote for Biden is a Trump supporter) is that they don't care who you have relations with or what you do with your body, so long as you leave the kids alone. @ People tout Free Speech but if you actually read the constitution, there are limitations to free speech. If we are being technical, but sure free speech let’s go that way. In addition, there are consequences to free speech. However, read the comments in response to the black girl. It was implied that she was inferior to the other school students because she was black and that’s it. She was called a DEI as a slur, it was stated to insult her. How do you not know she isn’t intelligent? How do you know she isn’t a valedictorian? How do you know she isn’t top 5% of her class? It was said to belittle her. It was a passive-aggressive insult. Just because you don’t like what she said doesn’t correlate to her intelligence. It’s like asking a Chinese person if they like math and they say no and the retort is how could you not like math? You’re Chinese! It’s the same concept here. She was called a DEI because people don’t like what she said the two don’t correlate at all. Yes I disliked her response and disagree but calling her a DEI, it’s condescending. It’s a passive-aggressive form of bigotry. What she said was stupid imo, but to call her a DEI you’re saying she’s only there because she’s black

I agree that Trump supporters don't really have an issue with who anyone chooses to be with. But these kids are being told that their rights are going to be taken away by the media, 80% of their professors and the celebrities and social media influencers that they listen to. The level of fear-mongering is like nothing we've seen before, in modern history. This is a generation that has been raised to believe that they're either oppressed or they're the oppressors. It's starting as early as pre-school and it's time for more parents to wake up and see what their kids are being taught, by the people that they're told to pay attention to.

Um... he has no authority in Canada anyway so why would you have any fears? The problem is what the right wants to do in the US, not in Canada. Republican judges like Clarence Thomas talk openly about repealing not just Obergefell but Lawrence, which struck down laws criminalizing being gay. This. Most dems are too dense to even understand the irony and hypocrisy of accusing everyone who disagrees with them of being a “threat to democracy” while refusing to hold a real primary, fighting to keep RFK off the ballot in as many states as possible, and covering up the cognitive decline of their candidate.
Obama didn’t make it legal. The Supreme Court made it legal and that had nothing to do with Obama. Obama and the democrats didn’t support gay marriage until the majority of Americans did.
My son is gay…. He voted for the first time this year, for Kamala. My husband and I voted Trump. My son is 21 years old… he hadn’t experienced enough to be conservative yet. I voted democrat until around 2001…. Or my later 20s. He’ll get there once he’s paying taxes and mortgage, having no safety net. That’s how I became a conservative.
Same. I was strictly democrat until I turned 24(ish) and had been on my own for 5 years and experienced life and then when I had children in the last 3 years it furthered my concern for their future and took an honest look at politics and realized certain things may sound "nice and fair" but do not work in practice. When it comes to open borders I often think "we do not expect the family down the street to put their family in potential danger to save their neighbors, so why is it "bad" that Americans shouldn't just freely open their doors to the world" and the whole argument that we stole America does not make sense because everyone here living did not conquer America nor were we the only ones to do so, so we are here whether people like it or not so as intelligent beings we should focus on building up and protecting Americans first. Other countries do the same or even stricter things to protect their citizens so the whole America is mean argument is absurd. And these people who say America is bad would have a wake up call if they actually moved to a different country. They complain from their expensive Iphones sitting in their comfy homes without fear of war and starving to death is highly unlikely so they have no idea how good they really have it. I remember pushing back against my family big time when i was 18 and very left leaning. And then I really had to do it on my own and realized that life isn't always "nice" and it's ok to be proud of your country and want it to excel. I think your son will come around. It's probably very hard for him at his age being gay and seeing social media to think outside the echo chamber.

They'll say Hamas just to avoid saying anything to do with Trump would be the better option. Also, people seem to have taken a liking to taking someone saying they're against a couple of things about a subject, to mean they're against everything about the subject.
Which option is a greater threat to Palestinian lives? It's pretty simple. If you think it's the resistance group instead of the most powerful guy on the planet funding their eradication, you've lost your grip on reality. It would be no different if it were Biden or Harris or really any other American politician, they'd still take the same actions.

Not having a general consensus of truth has lead to eveyones individual truths to be justified by algorithms. The bubbles people are in are more rewarding than the actual truth. Be honest you tell someone to google something, they come up with answers you dont like, then you look it up yourself. On the internet you can prove many things are true. We need to be grounded in research before we have an opinion and nobody understands such today.

I know my daughter (10) who is always online is subject to all kinds of stuff but I am there to guide her and shes smart so its all good, she sees through the BS, shes logical and she knows she can come to me with any questions with 0 fear of my reaction. My dad taught them that there was nothing to cry about, its just a stupid glass, a little cleanup and its like it never happened, here's another glass of juice for you. This is how we need to treat each other.
A problem with questions like this is there's sort of a dogwhistle. When a person hears "LGBT rights" do you think "people shouldn't be jailed for homosexuality" or do you think "homosexuality should be front and center in media, entertainment, and even school cirricula"?

However, read the comments in response to the black girl. It was implied that she was inferior to the other school students because she was black and that’s it. But when parents complain about agendas being taught to minors in schools , do not pretend that some "right" is being taken away.

Obama made it legal, but it was in the middle of his term, but Trump was the first to "come into" the office supporting gay rights.
I am for gay rights as long as it is the same rights we all have, and not for "special rights."
@teresavoegele5114 completely agree. People's sexuality, race, religion shouldn't make any difference.
Obama didn’t make it legal. The Supreme Court made it legal and that had nothing to do with Obama. Obama and the democrats didn’t support gay marriage until the majority of Americans did.
I support rights, not named group rights though. The rights are the same.

Also if they wanna be trans that’s fine, just don’t force it or push the kids into it like it clearly is happening, most these things are trends and they are easily influenced by people they look up to trying to fit in, or make their parents happy. There’s no way you can tell me that the 6 year old boy in my nieces class wants to dress as a girl every day to school.. let kids be kids and find out on their own when they get older what they really want when they can actually think logically for themselves and even then some will regret it but at least they’re at an adult age where they know the results of their actions
