Was hoping to play the new factions during the campaign but didn't get the chance, so streamed a few that we hadn't played before last week and the last two from the expansion this week.

Doesnt the game end at the end of the enemy phase, just so you have a chance to get 10 note or steal a relic from her

It hurts me when Anthony pronounces Bo’sun as bot-swain

Is there an ending on the app after a player wins. Or do you just say I win and walk away.

How does Sea of Legends compare to Dead Reckoning. Obviously more story driven but is gameplay better? More thematic etc mechanics smoother?

We’ve never played Dead Reckoning so we can’t say which is better. It’s on our want list.

I can tell ya. I've been playing dead recoking for the past two weeks. But i only played the base game and not the expansion that adds story elements. Dead recoking to me feels like you have to conquer lands to win. Even if you go through and get second place on all every lands you will have a great chance of wining. You are really weak at the start of the game. The card building/upgrading is fun and you do feel like you are getting stronger. The battle system feels way to random. Its really hard to sink or hurt ships during battle fights, and you can get tons of barrel and coins (money and victory points) for doing battles. The game last about 1 1/2 hour per player. And by then you either are just done with the game or you wish you can go on longer because you just became a little bit more powerful. The only thing i dont like are the componets are limited in the box. You need more buildings and barrels and the rules say use a substitue. If you own 5 islands you wont have that many cubes to attack. Only having 30 cubes hurt a lot, because they are used a lot for almost everything. Especailly if you used 9 cubes to hold on to an island. By the end of the game, people I play with do hold grudge for taking over their island, but i just wanted it so i can get second place points. They can take it back. I dont really feel like i'm a pirate. I feel like a merchant going back and forth to port and island i control or will control.
This game is pretty damn cool. The semi coop could be a turn off, especially if someone thinks they arent going to win and just tanks the game by helping the factions to win, so everyone loses. But this game feel more open right at the begining. You can basically do anything you want. The game does have a pandemic feel that if you leave the factions alone it will cascade and end the game pretty quickly. You have to work with the people around the table and help control the factions while still trying to do what you want to do. You personally really want to do your 3 stories, but there is no way you can complete them all before you or someone else hit 10 notoritey, which could leave a bad taste in someone mouth, because they probably won't ever see that story's ending. But i like the fantasy and story elements. Collecting rumors and relics feels great. I love collecting faction relic cards, because it bring so much story and favor to the game. You don't have to go around defeating ports if you dont want to, but it does help, and you dont even have to do your story mission to win. The battling system is fun with the dice manipulation. The a.i. is the hardest thing to control in this game. They have way to many "if/then" rules. I dont think anyone, right now, can play it 100% correclty without a cheat sheet. I do feel like a fantasy pirate playing this game. It like a bend of forgotten waters with actual board game. I kind of wish the app told us where the faction would move, but then it might take away feel of control that the first player has, and it will feel more like a videogame. This really doesnt feel like a videogame at all.
Edit: the base of sea of legends has 4 faction. So that's 6 different ways to play the game.
While dead recokining only has one way to play.

Does that app randomize or change things at all or is it just a digital version of what could be in a book?

It does randomize the stories, because I’ve played the same character with the same lover and nemesis and had different quests. We think you get different quests every time and the app plugs in your characters’ names for flavor.
