CELPIP Live! Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions - S4E11

In this week’s episode, we will read a practice test question, and identify the writing skills that raters look for when they assess your CELPIP writing. Next, we will evaluate and compare these skills between three test responses that scored Level 5, Level 9, and Level 12. Our goal is to understand the features that characterize a high scoring writing response.

As a teacher, l learned more about how to evaluate a writing test. While as an interested person on CELPIP test, all this analysis makes me think twice before applying for the test.

It is recently brought to my attention that organization is considering to conduct a training either for 2 full days during the weekend or at the end of shift every Tuesday for a month. While many may opt for having split training seasons, I would prefer to have 2 full days training during the weekend.
To start with, having two full days training requires less time commitment for both trainees and trainer. Many colleagues including myself have to pick up kids from school after work at 5pm, and it is difficult to ask favor to neighbor to pick up kids every Tuesday for a month
In addition, having full day training means greater focus on training from trainees. While training are done at once, it is easier to follow the content. Whereas, when training is done every week, attendees tend to forget what was covered during last week season.
To sum up, because full day training demands less time commitment and trainees can have higher concentration , I would choose, full day training during the weekend .
