- Have you ever wondered whether it would be possible to fully furnish your sims home without ever going into build and buy? If the answer to that question is yes then you’ll probably like this video!
In today’s video we will be finding ways to get furniture for my sims apartment, some of the tactics include stealing, going to the flea market and diving for deals in the dumpster.

You need to stay in an area for the dumpsters to fill up. They aren’t filling because you are leaving too quickly. It doesn’t take 24 hours. In the neighborhood around Sprucewood Square there are 3 more dumpsters. You can keep alternating between them all to increase your chances of getting stuff. In Port Promise, there are two dumpsters besides the one at the Community Space. Take one of the bikes so you can travel between dumpsters quickly.
As soon as she found the bike I was all excited thinking she was going to use it to travel faster ... then she put it in her house. I was like ... oh okay? haha
It's too late for this series, but if you put some trash in the dumpster then it fills up again. Just a plate or a water glass will do. Also napping or woohooing in there adds trash. The best way of getting random stuff is using an upgraded sim ray. You need level 3 in the science career. Zap crap from the dumpster with it and it will turn into random other items.
Just a heads up, you can bring your trash to the dumpster and it will refill it automatically you don’t have to wait 24 hours
I would quite enjoy a repeat of this challenge. After all, the end apartment will look different every time!

For some reason if you make a club and give them swiping as an action you can steal much more than usual.

I was inspired to play this challenge in the Sims 3, it was a lot of fun. I stole a shower and a toilet from the Landgraabs 😂
I think it's quite literally impossible to watch you play without goin', 'I'll just pop in for a bit' to my own games. Between you and another of my main Sims4 channels, it's a wonder I can play any other game!!!
edit: I believe you have to stay on the lot to fill the dumpsters so if you leave it's not filling up. Add a 2nd dumpster to your lots that have them. I promise it helps! LOL
If you'd like to add alternative ways to accrue items, you can also build a tub with the workbench and can create items with the fabricator!
What you need to be able to steal fridges, stoves, toilets and the like is the Burgliate spell from Realm of Magic. You can literally steal ANYTHING with that spell. Or you can go to a neighborhood where the Sharing is Caring NAP is on and that will also allow you to steal pretty much anything.
You must not have watched Stranger Things 4 yet or you would NOT want that grandfather clock anywhere near you 😂💀

This was so hard to watch there's literally a public toilet close by.
You can put the dyes in the trash to refill it then reuse the same dumpster over and over💅

I'm three months late to this, but I love this challenge so much that I'm doing it now. I didn't realize you could actually get a fridge in the dumpster! I cheated a little in that if my sim fixed a fridge or stove at the community lot I let her buy the same one since the game won't allow her to take it home. But I was lucky to find a toilet! I thought I was going to have to woodwork to get a bad one.
I think if you give her the freegan trait she'll get better stuff from dumpsters. I know there were a few comments about throwing things away to "replenish" the dumpster.

I just want to take the time to admire how it’s inappropriate to cook in someone’s home YET everybody and their uncles won’t stop half making white cakes when they come around to my home uninvited.

I love this challenge. I want to try it on my Sims. I'm considering starting a new world where every Sim started out homeless and has to earn their way up in the world. I'll make every lot empty and over time, fill them with Sims. Some might start homeless. Some might start with empty homes. Every Sim will have slightly different scenarios. But all will start with a plank slate. I find that Sims build their skill better, when they have to be resourceful. I think it also taps into our human nature to make a home out of our space. It's also a constant rewarding experience.
dumster diving can get you anything you need it takes awhile tho
You can get water form the sinks and throw the glass in the bin then you can dive in it again
Also you can do the same with food plates
I missed this one when it came out, but I have been doing something similar but living in Evergreen harbor, I then voted for a maker space and put a dumpster on the lot (and added showers to the bathrooms). The dumpster seems to fill quicker on the maker space lot and you can refill it, by woohooing in it (and putting the garbage back in it. I found 2 stoves, a fridge, a toilet 4 sinks, etc and beds (though bad ones). I thine crafted the other things I needed. I don't think I found any kitchen counters, but did find upper cabinets which is weird.
It takes a while but I've seen people find the bottom cabinets/counters in the dumpsters before.
There was a dumpster behind the pub
fascinating that there aren't any furniture stores or hardware/home improvement stores in the game. But to be fair, demand wouldn't be terribly high with the build mode. But, oh well, her appartment looks great in the end, so all's well...

You should do a good to bad with rambunctious religion and basemental drugs. Finds religion, quits swiping, smoking, drinking, sex stuff, the pipe etc

Is there anyway to get the kleptomaniac trait in game for the sims? like whitout choosing it when you make one, if so how?
An interesting challenge and well done. Very enjoyable to watch. Some of these challenges make me wonder about sims and autonomy, a thing that annoys you every so often as we see. My thought was, if you give a sim an aspiration, the likes, and tools of the aspiration, left alone will he/she/them/they be able to make enough money to survive? or will they loose everything because they just dick about? Right now my challenge is an artist with an easel and so far he's painted some paintings but not making a lot of money. Thank you for this sims entertainment and inspiration.
I hope your sims did what they needed to do. and I think her autonomy would be different because of the mc command center

You can bring your trash from your apartment, put it in the dumpster, and dive more.
Could you try the In the Moodlet scenario?? I think mine is busted, which saddens but doesn't surprise me 🙄
there's also a dumpster by the bar in evergreen harbor. it's out on the street v close.
This makes me wish there was some kind furniture store so your Sims could actually go and buy stuff for their homes.

I know it's kind of an old video but also you can go camping and purchase the air mattresses and other items there in Granite Falls!
