4:44 Why I'm a not getting that little extra window underneath the stockpile zone so I can turn on auto-claim?
Edit: okay, press "p" and then press on that pile. Now you can turn on auto-claim

Pressing p will do it, but you *should* be able to click directly on the stockpile to bring up the configuration options.

What if you used one of those general-purpose tools that can show your (keyboard) inputs on screen? That might help people who are trying to figure out what you're doing to navigate menus and so on.
Since it's too late to incorporate something like that for this series of videos, maybe something similar can be done in the subtitles? Not exactly sure how that'd work--it's just a thought.

7:50 I can't get my miners to dig out that one up/down staircase. Very frustrating

This seems to be a bug; I fixed this by shifting the aquifer tap by one tile, digging out the highest up/down stair (leaving a down stair) and designating stairs on the adjacent tile leading up to the tap.

@@eigenhector I move my tap one step to the left, and just channled my way from the top downward. Doesn't look pretty but it works. Thanks mate

Just use the dig-now command in DFHack. Use the -z flag to only dig what is on your current Z level.
