Wow that's a good looking hay crop there. One thing I never liked about green feed is it took for ever to cure out. Take care

Hello. What do you apply to oat hay during harvest? I am from Poland and I am very interested in the issue of oat hay. How long does it take from mowing to harvesting? At what humidity do you harvest hay. Great production, great farm.

Hello there...my mother is from Poland...outside of a little fertilizer when I seed it I don't apply anything...we cut in early to mid milk stage on the kernel and depending on how heavy the crop is it can take from 3 days to a week providing we get good dry conditions...I bale it at 18-21% moisture

@@bcpfarmandtrucking6560 That's great, you have Polish roots 😉. Do you know Polish? Approx. To the point. Do you wrap such bales in foil? When I make hay from grass, I dry it to 14-15% humidity and sometimes there may be a problem when the bale is compacted well. Do you know the nutritional value of such hay? I will feed it to heifers for meat and steers.

@piotrgrabowski8122 no im sorry I don't know polish...no my bale are not foil wrapped or plastic wrapped I don't have any feed value numbers available for you but I tubgrind and mix all my feed stuffs together and feed it to all my cattle...same ration only feeder calves get top dressed with grain...I started with oat hay because it generally produces more tonnage per acre than alfalfa hay

@@bcpfarmandtrucking6560 Nice feed. Next month I will be harvesting a mixture of winter rye, winter barley and winter vetch. This will make silage wrapped in foil. After this, a mixture of oats, vetch, rye and peas will be sown. I will try to make this mixture into dry hay or dry silage. My animals also receive crushed grain in this feed. Such hay made from whole grain plants seems to be better than grass hay.

Wanting to break up some of my old hay stand and put up some green feed in there. Couldn't decide if I wanted to put barley or oats. I see you got a mix in there. What were your seeding rates?

Thought you were going to say. Save a horse ride a cowboy. Yup that 35 highway is something else. If you have false teeth, take them out and put them in your pocket. Manitoba highway's aren't any bloody better.
