  • enjoy :)
The Arcade Fire's song "Haiti" from the album "Funeral".
    Haïti, mon pays,
    wounded mother I'll never see.
    Ma famille set me free.
Throw my ashes into the sea.
    Mes cousins jamais nés
    hantent les nuits de Duvalier.
    Rien n'arrete nos esprits.
Guns can't kill what soldiers can't see.
In the forest we lie hiding,
    unmarked graves where flowers grow.
    Hear the soldiers angry yelling,
in the river we will go.
Tous les morts-nés forment une armée,
soon we will reclaim the earth.
All the tears and all the bodies
    bring about our second birth.
    Haïti, never free,
n'ai pas peur de sonner l'alarme.
    Tes enfants sont partis,
In those days their blood was still warm
NOTE: I do NOT own this song or any part of this song. I just decided to put this on for the enjoyment of others.

One small correction to the lyrics:
It's not "N'ai pas peur de sonner l'alarme," but "N'aie pas peur de sonner l'alarme." The omission of that E changes the meaning of the sentence completely. ;)

+Josh Andallo I think saying «n'ai pas peur de sonner l'alarme» is totally incorrect since it hasn't got a subject. It'd be correct if it was «je n'ai pas peur de sonner l'alarme».

Sara Haouzi Aie is the imperative form of avoir in the singular form. It's correct.

In the age of the single, this could have been an A-side, with the slightly lesser known "Dominican Republic" on the B-side

      Murad Laradji
That is kind of rude. If you aren't French or Algerian you have no idea what their standards are or their customs. That is like me saying people of your nationality aren't nice.

Fair enough, i see why you think that but you shouldn't think that ALL French people are mean, lots of them are proably nice :)

Yeah I have French family (some immigrated there after the revolution). And they're nice. I was referring to imperial France in my first comment
