He won this on the last attempt, last driver to go up the mountain. I was on the edge of my seat watching it live from @racecraftTV
Could not have scripted a better finish 🍻
Brilliant. Would love to see some of the classic British hill climb tracks
I would love for both Pikes Peak and Goodwood
After watching this all I can think about is what a WRC would be like in iracing
Stupid expensive at 10$ a stage
@@Hal9023 theres some free ones and its worth $10
How good is that! on point piloting and how nice is that setup, planted as.
I love the hillclimb aspect of this game. This is a great course but I can't lie pikes peak would be an amazing piece to game
And Mt. Fuji at some point.
@@JarutheDamaja there are a ton of hillclimbs Iracing could scan! Pennsylvania hill climb association and Appalachian hill climb have great courses not to mention the tail of the dragon would be epic.
Hippydoug absolutely, blood mountain, cherahola, dragon. I have thought about making it for asetto but never started as the project would be nuts but it would get big and probably get a lot of donations to pay to map out the entire Appalachians
he just nailed it !
Me attempting this = DEAD first bend, along with a few trees. Respect for that run! Amazing.
So fast!
complete with a regulation sim-racing finish
Next update we want the fiat x1/9…hillclimb monster by manuel dondi
This reminds me how dated the game looks, even compared to 10-year old rally titles.
If graphics could just be fully overhauled that would be great. It is so dated but such a brilliant game.
Referred email?
Emphasis on "flying"
Easy when you can't die
If I would drove like that with my wife in the car and she'd hit me.
What car?
Let's just ignore the fact he killed the cones
They were fine, they all survived without a scratch!
Alexa, play the arca brake weekly cone funeral song
@@Den_Raider30 unfortunately they got much worse than a scratch
In the work place hitting a cone is hitting a person. Tsk tsk
Poor cones :c
The fact he did this live in front of an audience, in competition, on a do or die run makes it so much more intense.
what if I told you that hes also in a dorm room on a desk setup with a laptop no extra monitors lol
What? Are you guys for real?
Not even a minute in and this run is SKETCH AF.
But that's how you set crazy times.
What's that saying? Something about if you're in control you could be going faster
-_-
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti@@slandoraparalex2328
I definitely want to go to the top of that run with a fun car, put it in neutral and 'soap box' it back down!
I believe there's a soapbox setup for the Formula Vee to do just that
I run up and down the mountain every few weeks just for fun. Its a wild ride. Would love more time trial videos and competitions. Its challenging and would be cool to see what times everyone is putting down.
I stopped counting at 1000 ways to die... Awesome virtual drive.
That crash after the finish line was hard. I hope driver is ok?! 🙃
I got to ride up this in my side x side. Not quite that fast though!
iRacing, you should tag Pastrana bro
sorry I saw nothing. Was too scared since turn 2, i closed my eyes...just open them at the end, to see a flip : was right to close them XD
Wow 3:04 was insane.
Been up that mountain a couple times on bike day. It's really cool, being surrounded by thousands of motorcycles going up and down that twisty road. It looks pretty accurate, right down to the rest stops on the way up. Nice drive.
Post the setup so we can all give it a try!
Good Hill Climbing Challenge.
And Where in Mount Washington in.
The spectators just before the finish and the checkered-flag waver at the finish were INCHES away from being killed!
Simply Lovely.
Touge drivers are another breed. Rally drivers too I guess but his background I believe in sim-racing is touge mountain racing. Give it up for Mister 2-time.
Seamlessly flying from pavement to dirt. Respect!!!!!
Hill climbing sounds fun, I think I'll buy that track.
_watches video_
I'll stick with Nords. Nords is easy. I like Nords.
This is 30 secs faster than the actual record. Is that just because of the confidence you can have when you know you aren’t going to die if you make a mistake or is there a difference in physics or the car? I know iracing is supposed to be really accurate but 30 secs is a lot.
Wow, real life almost looks like a computer game!
This is such an underrated mode.
What simulation is this?
I'll take your question at face value - it's iRacing
Does iRacing allows to drive a GT3 car on this track ? Just for fun offcourse and with some high speed of the mountain crashes if that is possible.
I need to buy this track to have some fun 😅
What's the point of the back facing camera ?
Exactly. Any “look at this crazy lap time” videos should just be the cockpit view behind the steering wheel for the entire duration.
Pretty scenery?
RIP orange cones
How many takes
Tens
Hundreds
Thousands
Joke
Like the GAME
Why the wrc is not in Iracing ?
Because it would take a zillion years to laser scan and build.
@@ClaytonMacleod no need to laser scanning to be honest
@@marcing2505 That’s how iRacing operates. Every single track is laser scanned so everything is correct down to the millimetre. Their goal is to be as accurate of a simulator as possible. It isn’t a video game where you can just go do whatever you want and it doesn’t matter. Their goal is accuracy. Accurate tracks. Accurate cars. Accurate physics. So they do what they can in order to be as accurate as is reasonably possible. They don’t just make a 3D model that looks like the car. They laser scan and/or build it from CAD data from the manufacturer to make sure all the parts are where they should be and behave like they should in order to make the car in the sim actually behave as close to the real thing as they can get it. It doesn’t just look like that car with made up performance numbers that are kinda close to the real thing. It is built like the real car with all the parts behaving like they do in the real car specifically the way they do in that car so as to drive as closely as possible to the real thing. It performs the way it does in the real world because it is physically modelled the same way. This is why they only have so many cars and so many tracks, because they don’t just fudge things like any number of video games out there. They are trying to be a serious simulator that behaves as close to real life as possible. If you just want to play a rally racing game then Dirt already exists so you can just go play that. iRacing isn’t going to change their core values just to have a rally racing game. Their core values have stayed the same since it’s inception 14+ years ago. And I see no indication that that is ever going to change. Nor would I want it to. Games made by other people exist, and they’re more appealing to some people for various reasons. And a hardcore simulator like iRacing appeals to other people for other reasons. iRacing is very good at what they do, and in my opinion there is nobody doing it better. And hopefully they continue with their philosophy. There’s plenty of room in the market for other titles from other companies. But iRacing does its thing its way and probably always will.
@@ClaytonMacleod Yes, iRacing has no competition because they are way ahead of everyone else.
@@LyroLife a decade behind*
5:09 duuuuuuude!
Flying LAP?💀💀💀💀💀
RIP cones
I never saw the auto road that well groomed.
HE IS NOT USING THE FIXED SETUP LOL
make this the loading screen
He hit 4 out of 8 cones!! But he missed that 1 double bonus cone sitting by itself on the right, although he did come close!
I have an iq of -40 so sorry but what car is this ?
Had to put on the sound to recodnize it, because the visuals didn't reveal it for me. But this is one of iRacing's Rally cars (Subaru WRX STI, VW Beetle GRC or Ford Fiesta RS - Not the Beetle Lite!)
It's a Subaru WRX STI in the thumbnail so I'm assuming it's that
@@sloth_energy 🦥 👍
Show off!! & I love it!
Christian is so precise
The current record is 5 minutes, 28.67 seconds IRL...
Proof iracing ain't 'real'...
Proof that you can push much harder in a simulator, knowing that you won't die if you miss a corner...
This isn't the intelligent take you thought it was
facepalm.gif
The best supercomputer in the world can't even simulate a single complex atom. Before Iracing becomes "real" a lot more needs to happen anyway.
