it’s so funny that you pull back from fantasy in the fall because I’m the exact opposite! 😂 as soon as the weather starts getting colder, it’s like an alarm goes off in my head like “perfect! time to make a cozy hot drink, bundle up under a fluffy blanket, and get fully immersed in a medieval high fantasy world 🥰🕯️” I hope you love all the books you got!! 🍁💖🍂
I'm reading The Pumpkin Spice Cafe right now. I'm like halfway through it and it is just so so aesthetic. Like the most perfect fall vibes. It's in a small town, in fall, in the northeast. There's a fall festival and they start talking about pumpkins in like the first chapter so it really is putting me in the fall mood
ugh i love you so much ashlynn! im so glad i found your channel, youre such a ray of sunshine and i can really see God's love shining through you! thank you for being you!
The Secret History is so good! It brought me back to reading after a long hiatus from books. Currently starting If We Were Villains and looks promising!
The Silent Patient, The Maidens and The Fury, exists in the same universe. Not really necessary to read in order, but there are bits and pieces of information that link them all together. It's a nice touch by the author! I love anything Alex Michaelides. Excited for you to read them. 😊
Have you read the Emily Wilde books? They take place around a lottt of snow, but still somehow, for me, totally have fall vibes! Not everyone likes this series, but it has my heart 💛
The Truly Devious books are some of my favorites ever. I especially love Box in the Woods because it gives off 80's summer camp slasher vibes, but Nine Liars is also an amazing standalone in the series.
Here are some other fall books you should get once you read those if you have not already read them. The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake, The Lanterns Ember by Colleen Houck, All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody, Shady Hollow by Juneau Black, The Walls Around us by Nova Ren Suma, Little White Lies by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, In the Shadow Garden by Liz Parker, If I Stopped Haunting You by Colby Wilkens, Pumpkin Spice and Everyting Nice by Katie Cicateli-Kuc, and Witch of Wilde Things by Raquel Vasquez Gililand. These are all really good fall books I think you’d really like!
So excited for you to read thriller books again! I read The Silent Patient and loved it way more than The Maidens. Hope your reading experience is good😌
I missed that in the haul I thought you put it back! Yay!!! It's so good I hope you like it when you pick it upppp! Honestly it can be slow, at times, but I love the journey it takes us on!!
So excited for fall reads! I just picked up The Secret History at a used bookstore recently and can’t wait to check it out! The Pumpkin Spice Cafe sounds like something I need in my life 😂🎃🍁
I'm saying this as a non native english speaker who only just started reading for about 2 year, Secret History is not difficult at all, and it's one of my favourite!
Ooh you should definitely pick up The Silent Patient! I'm the same, I really don't like scary/horror books and covers sometimes turn me off. But I absolutely loved TSP - also if you can get through If We Were Villains you can definitely handle it!
I am gonna cry. Stalking Jack the Ripper should be there especially since the new cover for paperbacks it's out😭 I was also shocked that there was The Tearsmith from Erin Doom😨❤ Btw you are very beautiful and thank you so much for this video❤ Love from Italy❤
Oooh very excited! Several of these have been on my tbr for a hot minute! I really want to see a reading vlog of the maidens! I read the silent patient and loved his writing but wasn’t a fan of how the book ended so I’m curious if that one would be a better fit for me!
Can’t wait for Magnolia Parks! I also thought the series wasn’t for me, but I finished the 3rd books yesterday and I’m loving it. FYI on the spice, I wouldn’t say its completely closed door, but what is described is not specific and more about their thoughts/feeling during… it’s also a large topic of conversation among the characters, but it didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. Hope that helps!
I am so excited to see if you like Magnolia Park! I have been wanting to pick it up for so long since I love Gossip Girl but I’m scared! I also thought it had spice, (and I don’t like that) so keep us updated! ❤ happy fall!!!!
I’m nearly done reading Pumpkin Spice Cafe and I’m so disappointed! I love the setting and the concept of the series! The cover is soooo cute! But the story is such a big let down! Cant wait to hear your thoughts on the book.
I’ve heard the pumpkin spice cafe is quite spicy (and the whole series), which made me so sad cos they look so cute! interested to hear your thoughts on it!
In case you don't enjoy The Maidens, definitely try the Silent Patient because I absolutely loved the second one by far more than I did the first one!❤❤
So the first book in the Magnolia Parks universe was a one star for me 🙃 But truly I just had to get through it and from there on the next two were 4.25 and 5 stars and I’m sure the next ones are also going to be rated so highly! 😫 The characters are my everything now
Hi! I saw you got The Maidens! I recently read it! It is so good! I know you scared of the cover for The Silent Patient but it is worth it. Please read it. Happy Fall! Have a good weekend!
G U R L ! It's like we are cosmically connected! My sis and I went on a quest to find a DarkAc book to buddy read for Fall Read Kickoff, and we settled on The Maidens!😂 Also, I am in UT, too, and my fav daydream is running into u and Ian while bookshopping 🫶
As a Christian and big Gilmore Girls fan, I thought the pumpkin spice cafe was going to be a cute cozy read, but I had to DNF it around 50%. It practically copied Gilmore Girls. Like way too much it made me angry lol and it surprisingly was too icky for me. They fall in love within like 2 seconds of meeting each other which made me a bit angry too lol
I just paused the video to say that, you should read “The silent patient”! Omg, I’m literally almost finished reading it, and the final pages I read just left me speechless. I still need to read the last 20 pages, but I’m not joking, I couldn’t put this book down. I hardly recommend you to read it! Me personally, I can’t wait to finish it, I’m already looking forward to it :D
The Secret History is full of unpleasant characters doing awful things, but for some reason I really enjoyed reading it! I normally hate that kind of thing, but it was so compelling and well-written, I couldn't put it down! The Goldfinch by the same author has a similar vibe but is less dark, it's kind of a modern Charles Dickens in my opinion, and it felt *very* autumnal.
I am also super judgey to Goodreads ratings! Which is interesting because I have definitely loved books rated under 4 stars yet it’s so hard for me to actually try them 😅
I loved The Secret History! I read a library copy but then bought my own in case I want to read it again. They are definitely not trying to find out who killed their friend. That's revealed in the first chapter, or maybe it was the prologue. I read it a few months ago and am still thinking about it. 5 stars for me! Tonight I will finish If We Were Villians.
I had no idea about the last two spin-offs from truly devious and apparently she is writing more! But I’m reading now in the woods right now and it’s so good definitely the creepiest so far 😅 but not too scary lol
I'm most eager to see you read Magnolia Parks. I got the pumpkin spice cafe book on the kindle app, and I'm like a few pages in and idk if I'm going to finish it...because I started reading The Games that God's play by Abigail Owens. And that book like swept me away.
Wow i definitely want to read if we were villains.. never read a dark academia before so im a little nervous!!! Also so random but you look soooo pretty in the thumbnail 🥰🥰🥴
most like to see what you think of secret history because i want to know whether it is worth the read. I think you will have more fun with others ones though.
Your Barnes & Noble is SO NICE! 😮
That is how the newer stores look like…

Facts!

I hope you love all the books you got!! 🍁💖🍂
Same! Idk why but I feel like autumn/winter are perfect for reading fantasy, and romance works best during spring/summer!
I'm reading The Pumpkin Spice Cafe right now. I'm like halfway through it and it is just so so aesthetic. Like the most perfect fall vibes. It's in a small town, in fall, in the northeast. There's a fall festival and they start talking about pumpkins in like the first chapter so it really is putting me in the fall mood
the secret history is surprisingly quite readable! one of my favourite books of all time
ugh i love you so much ashlynn! im so glad i found your channel, youre such a ray of sunshine and i can really see God's love shining through you! thank you for being you!

The Silent Patient was good.
Did you like The Fury? I was really disappointed in it
It’s always good day when I get a notification that Ashlynn posted!🤍
The Secret History is my favorite book of the year!

Lol I commented the exact same thing when I first watched her videos. 😂 Both she and Ian are great!
Facts.
I feel you on the pricy books lmao, however I have noticed many of my favorites have been on the higher end of the price range
omg magnolia parks!!!!! love that series so much. truly feels like you’re watching chuck and blair from gossip girl, but in book form 🥹🥹🥹
I can’t wait to read it!!! Thank you so much for the suggestion 🫶🏼🥰🙌🏼
The Secret History is so good! It brought me back to reading after a long hiatus from books. Currently starting If We Were Villains and looks promising!
It always makes my day when you and Ian post on the same day.
The Silent Patient, The Maidens and The Fury, exists in the same universe. Not really necessary to read in order, but there are bits and pieces of information that link them all together. It's a nice touch by the author! I love anything Alex Michaelides. Excited for you to read them. 😊

i LOVE your going out and vlogging videos. They’re actually my fave!
The Truly Devious books are some of my favorites ever. I especially love Box in the Woods because it gives off 80's summer camp slasher vibes, but Nine Liars is also an amazing standalone in the series.
Oooooo that’s so exciting!!!!

I love your channel and I love the dodgy filming 😂 like it’s still totally relatable channel no matter how much your following goes up ❤️

Always so glad to see you dropped a video!
Def excited to see you read the rest of the Truly Devious series and The Secret History!😊
omg the secret history has been my favourite book for years good luck with that, the plot is really crazy but it's easy to read! ♡
ash !!! idk if you've read a secret history yet, but if you're into audiobooks, donna tartt narrates the audiobook and it's STUNNING.
So excited for you to read thriller books again! I read The Silent Patient and loved it way more than The Maidens. Hope your reading experience is good😌
I need to try matcha ❤sitting with my fall coffee, sitting next to my sunflower 🌻 doing my kids paperwork. Perfect 👌

I missed that in the haul I thought you put it back! Yay!!! It's so good I hope you like it when you pick it upppp! Honestly it can be slow, at times, but I love the journey it takes us on!!
I didn’t want to read The Silent Patient either but finally did and loved it - you need to read it!
So excited for fall reads! I just picked up The Secret History at a used bookstore recently and can’t wait to check it out! The Pumpkin Spice Cafe sounds like something I need in my life 😂🎃🍁
I found that The Pumpkin Spice Cafe was cute but too spicey for me! I do think it gave some Gilmore Girl vibes though lol
Pumpkin Spice Cafe is shelved in Romance!! Go get you that cozy book❤❤
I'm saying this as a non native english speaker who only just started reading for about 2 year, Secret History is not difficult at all, and it's one of my favourite!

I'm adding the Maidens to my TBR, that sounds good! I pull more forwards fantasy during fall so I'm currently reading the Zodiac Academy books.
🍁📚🎃🍁 Great haul! The Maiden was pretty good, and The Secret History is fantastic.
I am gonna cry. Stalking Jack the Ripper should be there especially since the new cover for paperbacks it's out😭 I was also shocked that there was The Tearsmith from Erin Doom😨❤
Btw you are very beautiful and thank you so much for this video❤
Love from Italy❤

i'm almost done with the pumpkin spice cafe and it's really light hearted and at times it's silly.
Aww, yay! That’s what I want! Did you find it super spicy?
Autumn playlist 👉 October Project 🎶
The Silent Patient is not scary, you would be totally ok😊.
I'm most eager to see you read Magnolia Parks. I got the pumpkin spice cafe book on the kindle app, and I'm like a few pages in and idk if I'm going to finish it...because I started reading The Games that God's play by Abigail Owens. And that book like swept me away.
