Project Mopar: HiREV ICU and Distributor Review for Small Block Mopar

Product review of Richard Ehrenberg's HiREV Ignition Control Unit and Distributor.
One thing I failed to mention in the video is the performance curve designed into these distributors.

Less than 4 deg. mechanical adv. below 650 RPM (for cranking)
approx. 8 deg. at 950 (fast idle)
Approx 13 deg. at 2500 (HP)
Vacuum: near-zero at 10" vac, then 9-10 deg @ 15" (fuel economy / no oil dilution)

Bought 3 distributors from Rick. Great quality for the money, and you can use a limiter plate with these, unlike the Proform. Replaced a Proform with an out of round reluctor.

Great video. I hope you get more life than I did. My Hi-rev box only lasted maybe 1000 miles. That Distributor sure looks nice though!

I know a couple of fellows who ran a ground wire to the box, just for that reason.

Yeah good idea. I'm a fan of extra ground wires.
