Does anyone have any tips for playing Bar 25-27? (the part at 18:38) I've been practicing it but I can't seem to play it correctly because the rhythm is throwing me of.
Thank you for these excellent videos. I love to hear new perspectives on pieces--I played parts of the video over a few times 'cuz they were so thought-provoking. So, which of the etudes DO you find more challenging? Winterwind was my bane years ago...
I have not spent much time on Winterwind, but I think it is one of the most difficult. A lot of people find the thirds etude also to be the most difficult. Personally I find Winterwind more demanding, but it is different for everyone depending on their strengths and weaknesses.
Great tutorial. You make a common mistake in measure 7 - the tenth 16th note is B natural [from earlier in the measure], not B flat. The correct B natural moves up a diminished octave to B flat.
