@crosaphiso1 What angle are you talking about? The sweep of the wings, the angle of attack (nose high or low depending on wind and lift conditions) Glide ratio (how many feet does it drop per every foot it moves forward)? Please specify.
i fly planes, i fly a piper cherokee 140 so i have a basic understanding of flight so whats the chances of me jumping on one of these things without ever flying one and living lol my friend wants me to go.
@crosaphiso1 the best advise I can give you is call a hang gliding school in or near area. I would not suggest building one without prior knowledge or experience. I took lessons over29 years ago from So Calif School of Hang Gliding. (now called windsports(dot)com). I learned from Joe Greblo and Rich Grisby back in the day.)

@airwolfgunner You are right, it was posed in a wrong way, anyway, the thing that I would add is that by doing it in water, not so distant from the ground, nothing can happen to the pilot (as long as he can swim), for sure if it's marine water/salt water, the wing would be destroyed for sure. Crash into the water at that speed with no life vest tangled in that harness - when you drowning you wont be able to un clip you cant move ??? I came off a jetski at speed, hit so hard all the wind was knocked out of me followed by a mouthful of lake water - forced injection, a real face plant, I had a vest on and came right up but the damage was already done, it took a good 45 sec before I got my first gasp of air, I really thought I was going to die If he face plants it could be the last time.
@manometre the same could happen if the hang glide touch the hard surface in landing...anyway, if you do it in a good way there is no risk, they take maximum speed and groud effect ends many meters away from water, and if you watch closely in the first part, they stall the wing by intention, to land steady, but the ground effect could continue for many meters if the would.
