Such a delight hearing this man talk, so many stories/memories, probably It's the beard that gives him so much wisdom, I could hear this man talk for days, anyways I recently subscribed and I been having a blast.
I miss the drive people had back then. I really enjoyed our passion when SC2 was released and we just wanted to be better than the players who thought they were gods. man, I really do miss that.
I rarely play much games anymore, never played tekken or soul calibur, but I still watch Aris vids, this guy is awsome. He tells great stories and has a really good personality.
Fuck yeah , dude. I moved to Anaheim, and started playing at Southern Hills around the same time you did. Premier competition there. The thing that was a trip about Southern hills was that it was almost as if any game they had there, people would be playing it at the highest level on a Friday night. I remember watching some asian dude playing some obscure japenese puzzle game at blistering speed. At the time I was playing Tekken 4 on the big screen, as well as SVC on the big screen right next too it. This video brought back memories.
The arcades was such a fun place to be. I used to cut school in Chicago to go to a big arcade place. The sounds. The lights. So fun. $8 would last me all day. Not a care in the world.
Bloody Roar was the first fighting game I ever played when I was like 8 or 9 years old on my cousin's PS1 and I only played it once. Then I became a fan of SF for a short time and I moved to Tekken when I first knew it and I completely lost interest with SF after, and Tekken has been the fighting game that I loved the longest. The first Tekken game I played was Tekken 3 and I played it at the arcades because I didn't have a console during that time.
Played all than games bk in the day early 80s to even playing sf1 afterburner outrun hang on shit load of others use play Ryan heart on t3 been gamer over 25 years respect aris knows his shit never played him on tekken yet maybe one day hope the he's reads this
Damn, the put down of Disneyland lol. I haven't been there more than a couple times but things have become more interesting. Still never been to california adventure and they're going to put galaxy's edge in disneyland which could be cool.
I know this is a little late but Southern hills Golfland was located in SoCal in a small city named Stanton. I loved that place and went there probably more than 100 times. My house was maybe 10 minutes away so sometimes I would just walk there. There was an Edwards theatre on the other side so that area was packed on the weekends. Now they have plowed everything down and put in some condos. I miss the 90s
Aris is actually mistaken about Bloody Roar only being on Console as there are three games in the series that were in the arcades before being taken to console (some that were japanese only I think), which were beastorizer, Bloody roar 2 & 3. Primal Fury, Extreme (being an updated version of primal fury. but that did end up being released in arcades) & 4 didn't see the light day in the arcades. Oddly enough the 3 games were exclusive to the ps1&2 after their success in the arcades, only to be split up to being exclusive to the gamecube & xbox (Primal fury going to gamecube & Extreme on the Xbox/Arcade). But then 4 ended up being exclusive to the ps2 again, rushed, unfinished, unbalanced and the least liked one within the series. Rip
Bloody Roar was originally an arcade game so I am not sure WTF Aris is talking about in regards to that. Calling Bloody Roar a console fighting game is like calling Tekken a fighting game, as each was released on console not too long after arcade launch. It did not catch on because it was overshadowed by Tekken and the core gameplay mechanics kept being changed. It was actually a cool concept, and the first game was pretty damn cool for the time.
It was much more a console fighter.. it sold better on console because no one wants to pay for that shit in the arcade. not when they have Tekken, Soul Calibur/blade, mortal Kombat,Street fighter, killer instinct, time killers. It was just lost in an ocean of fighting games.
Bloody Roar had pretty bad luck during its entire series. Bloody Roar 1 competed against Tekken 3, Bloody Roar 2 vs Soul Calibur, Bloody Roar 3 vs Dead or Alive 3, and Primal Fury/Bloody Roar 4 together vs Tekken 4. Bloody Roar never sold above 500k in any installment and got progressively worse with each installment. And most likely we will not see Bloody Roar 5 as long as Konami has the rights to the series.
Aris should write a book
+Galactic Specter He should indeed.
well, if u think he should write bc of he played a lot in 90's, come to me, i played more and experienced more than him ;)
Christian BMonkey about how ugly he is lol.
Aris has a loveable personality. The gum on ur shoe probably got more style than u, only thing u should write is a suicide note.
SAGITARIO82JG watch your mouth, otherwise u'll get stomped out by 69 stoner cops high off of Mr.wizards a1 butthash. Dem cops be crazy son.

Shinku MTZ Your profile picture is a cursed image.
We need some vintage videos of all the Big Socal fgc dudes in the arcades in the early 2000s
Back when you actually had to carry around a camera instead of just pulling out your phone so there’s less footage
"Activating the V-trigg" hahaha

I rarely play much games anymore, never played tekken or soul calibur, but I still watch Aris vids, this guy is awsome. He tells great stories and has a really good personality.

"That wasnt that long ago, around 2003"
Does Aris play Maximum Tune? I play that game to pass time since not many ppl play Tekken 7 at our arcade.
Edit: it was called tilt studios

Demolition Man pinball earned my $6000 ... So worth it.

i'm lost "it's like calling tekken a fighting game" wut i thought it was a fighting game? By that logic, it's like calling cod a 1st person shooter
It's like calling tekken a console fighting game. Kinda implied but thanks for the correction.
It was much more a console fighter..

OldManNutcakez This is a year late, but bloody roar was almost non-existent in American arcades back in the day, compared to Marvel 2 and Tekken 3.
Bloody Roar had pretty bad luck during its entire series.
