I love that you’re not rushing her, even if you could get away with it. You are setting her up for success by making sure she gets all the fundamentals. This speaks volumes of a trainer!👏🏻
it was sweet to see her poll drop when you put your weight on her back. y'all are building such a beautiful and trusting rapport! thank you for all the updates, i am loving this journey. xo
Well, join up sure isn’t a problem with this girl! She sure seems level headed and calm, and seems to trust you almost completely. When you were acting like you were going to put the saddle on her she seemed to be wondering why you didn’t just hurry up already. Sometimes I wish I knew what they were thinking. She is going to be a steady, calm and trustworthy horse, for sure.
When you said " Well, join up sure isn’t a problem with this girl! She sure seems level headed and calm, and seems to trust you almost completely. I said the same thing i was like "I wonder if the horse is thinking why isnt she putting the saddle on already?!" lol
I'm not sure why, but this is the first Mustang I've thought - Hmm a Therapy Horse perhaps. Anyway, that was great to have you narrate! Thank you very much! Keep going, your doing wonderful work! Laural
I love this little mare. She’s a beauty with a great temperament. I really appreciate your expertise. Thanks for all you do with these beautiful Mustangs.
Looks like you have yourself a wonderful tempered horse. I'm impressed that you were able to get all of your weight on her. Looks like you will be able to ride her soon. And you seem to be having a good time yourself lol. keep up the good work can't wait to see your next video.
Looks like she has some draft horse in her bloodline, and is she a blood bay? She's such a sweet girl, her future owner, whoever they may be are going to be incredibly lucky to have her.
Sam VanFleet I just gonna say you have inspired me and you deserve everything you have given me more courage to say that I am going to do this with my horse. I now have more trust In my mare. We do now ride but we are going to work on that. I have already taught her to be patient so she turns her head away from me when I have a treat. I am teaching her to bow as well. Thank you. Thank you for everything .
Can’t wait to see where this kid goes! She’s definitely lazy but so smart and such a fast learner. What a shame so many horses are three strike mostly because they are just a ‘basic’ color. 🥺❤️
Sam I am new to your channel but have watched quite a few videos now, you are a delight to watch, really enjoy your voice overs, as a child I had ponies & watching you brings back so many happy memories, sadly now I am mainly bed bound but there a lovely freedom I get watching you work, love your approach you always move with love that is such a wonderful quality in life, may you go far my lovely X
So happy I found your channel. You do such a wonderful job. Patient, kind but firm. And your caring technique shows in the ways your horses respond. Thank you for sharing!
These videos are so relaxing to watch, I love horses but will probably never own one. I love the explanations and how you talk through what you're doing
I’m pretty bummed I’ve been waiting 2 years for the Mustang Makeover to come to Los Angeles, and it’s been cancelled/ both times :-( would have been this weekend...Good luck at the virtual event, that is one sweet, willing horse!
All your little steps - are allowing her to do real good! As you where jumping up & then resting on her back - her head went down a few notches once you where paused on her back. Great to see! She is going to be a very solid horse because you are a insightful trainer. Good to see! Thanks
This is a Modoc County ( California) mustang, transferred to Ridgecrest Ca holding area....the employees of both facilities really try to start socialization with the strange " humans" early on
She has such a good disposition. With all your great training she is going to be an outstanding horse! Typically how many hours do u spend with her each day? Love your videos and look forward to each day. Thank you!
Ur talent and patience R nice to watch n learn from . How does one go about getting a mustang from u ? I'm sure there's some type of paper work through the government with the registration process . If I don't get a response from u perhaps I can google the process . LOL .
What is 3 strike? I know nothing about Mustangs, I'm in Australia. I've watched every video of this mare's journey. Learnt about Mustang Makeover (how cool) and about to subscribe. I had horses years ago and bred ¾ Arabians with my part Arabian mare. This is a feel good channel, Sam you are a really good trainer. Edit: BTW this is one lovely mare you picked up 😃
I think it’s great that your moving fast but you’re not shoving things at her. I feel like a lot of people would have been on her on day 4 with how good she’s been but then they’d probably have had a blow up somewhere. You can tell she really understands and is comfortable with her new job and relationship with people.
Hi I have a question.. what’s your top for a big horse who can’t be tied up.. he have a gelding 2000 pounds around big strong horse and he broke a fence post and it was a big post 1-2 feet on each side. And he ripped it to peace’s. We tried different things..
Brighton And Bella bahahahaha what a coincidence I’ve never really thought of tiki as a horse name till the day I comented this, but it seems to suit a lot of horses
Yup! This is a 100 day training challenge but that doesn’t necessarily mean her training will be over, she will still be fairly green so Sam will likely look for a good home with someone confident in continuing training a younger green horse when she rehomes her after the challenge. Hope this helps! 😁
@@RideMyWay I wondered what happened to them afterwards. The challenge seems like a great way to encourage people to train them so they are tame enough to go to loving homes, especially since there has been a decline in adoptions.
She is doing a program, she trains them so they are more adoptable by people who cannot train. If she keeps them she can’t train more. She trains them so the horses can have a better life with people at home instead of in a pen for the rest of their lives
I love that you’re not rushing her, even if you could get away with it. You are setting her up for success by making sure she gets all the fundamentals. This speaks volumes of a trainer!👏🏻
Thanks!
Just got done writing essentially the same comment. Totally agree.
I agree with you
It’s crazy how smart she is and how fast she’s learning. She’s going to turn out amazing *knock on wood*
This little mare looks so proud that she’s learning how to be a “big horse”... really adorable little chili bean
I want this mare!!! She’s got such a lovely personality.

I agree. I think for adults with ptsd, also. Her trusting, calm nature would help so many people to learn to trust again.
Would love to have her at the therapy center I volunteer at!
This beautiful girl will be a special one. Something about her...
A real thinker.
A gem to admire❤
This horse is a truly amazing character. She's very special. Watching her is a joy!
At some points she is just like, “What the heck are you doing?” 😂
Yeah totally 😅🤣
I love this little mare. She’s a beauty with a great temperament. I really appreciate your expertise. Thanks for all you do with these beautiful Mustangs.
I have high hopes for this mare
I don't know much about training mustangs but I really like her 👍
I really love watching the process. When I get older I really want to work with horses. They are amazing creatures. Love you ❤️
I’m sure her future owner is watching these & thinking about the first ride. What a testament to your training methods.
I say this every time, but what a great mare! I can't believe this is only day five!
She is sooo calm and cute! Whoever ends up with her is gonna be so lucky 😉😊❤️
I have decided that a prerequisite for doing a mustang makeover is being a good jumper! 🤣👏🤣
She's a special mare. Quietly confident with your reassurance, she naturally seeks to try & please you. I can't wait to find out her name!
I’m secretly hoping for Pandora 🤞

Sweet horse. I guess she gets to you :-)
Thanks for explaining each step. I love learning and even relearning.
The scene of you dancing with her was so cute lol. She seems like a dream
Looks like she has some draft horse in her bloodline, and is she a blood bay? She's such a sweet girl, her future owner, whoever they may be are going to be incredibly lucky to have her.
I doubt there is draft there....but maybe some " carriage horse " lineages
DROP EVERYTHING SHE HAS POSTED!
I clicked so fast!😅
Same
I was watching Daily dose of internet saw her post and went, YASSS! 😂
😂

This mare is a saint! Standing there while you were all crazy with the music, and her face was like "seriously? Okay then 😑"
I am so in love with this mare. She is so chill. I can’t wait to see what you do with her.
You were born to train horses!
Can’t wait to see where this kid goes! She’s definitely lazy but so smart and such a fast learner. What a shame so many horses are three strike mostly because they are just a ‘basic’ color. 🥺❤️
Thank you for showing this in such a comprehensive way. Showing your methods like this is priceless . Many thanks x
Looks great 👍👍👍👍👍

I really like your narration as the video plays very informative when you point out things I would never notice.
Her coat is gorgeous!
how i would love a horse started by you!

Omg you are the best trainer for mustangs I would love to buy this mustang but I have 1 thoroughbred and 2 mustangs
Someone is going to be lucky & proud to have that mare. Hey, someone will be lucky to have Sam also. 😊
All your little steps - are allowing her to do real good! As you where jumping up & then resting on her back - her head went down a few notches once you where paused on her back. Great to see! She is going to be a very solid horse because you are a insightful trainer. Good to see! Thanks
i think her name should be sunday! she’s just so relaxed and chill like them
I agree with everyone. What an easy going personality.
Thanks for showing Sam! 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕
Fabulous progress.
Always thank you for all the explanations for all the steps - -
Fantastic horse
Dude this horse is amazing you are doing amazing work with her
That looks amazing! Love how you work so structured and building it up slowly. And I love how you desensitize her!
Love the work you do with these wild mustangs. Learned so much from watching your journey. I want to be you when I grow up...seriously😀!
Awesome nice work
Thanks for sharing
Looking great. You're doing a fantastic job with her

Hi
Love that mare your doing great job and love your techniques simple but effective can't wait until next video
Another very good training day!
As calm as she is Serena would be a great name for her.
You’ll be herding cattle with her in another week lol. What a great attitude she has.
She absolutely adores you!!!
I like your techniques.
Wonderful learner! I love this Mustang so much! Thanks for all the uploads. This has been such a great treat! :)
aw she is so good :)
Haha I love the song that you were playing above her back😂
I’m so glad you addressed the names. I’m new to your channel and thought maybe this was part of your training process.
Are you sure you got a wild mustang and not a giant labrador?
🤣
I love your work I wish I could get the colts I work with to act like that
So cute!
U r doing an awesome job with her
Thanks!
She has such a good disposition. With all your great training she is going to be an outstanding horse! Typically how many hours do u spend with her each day? Love your videos and look forward to each day. Thank you!
Right now about 1 hour
It’s so awesome watching you work with this girl. Curious, have you measured her?
Lovely!!
I want to see this beautiful horse 😘😘🤗🤗😘🐴🐴🐴❤️❤️
This horse is so calm already ur already leaning and putting lots of pressure on her back and had a saddle on to me that’s very fast.
Amazing
Great VI 😍❤️
What a good girl she is.

I like this overvoice but I really recomend doing it in maybe a closet or some where there is not too much open space.
Would she be a good candidate for a police horse? Also what a fantastic way to educate the public having a mustang in the city!

Watch her video from after Day 2, I explain it in there
So does # 7906 have a name yet? A lot of red in her coloration isn't there? She's going to do well, it appears to me.
Such a pretty girl ! When are you going to name her ? " This Mare " need a better name 😉
I think it’s great that your moving fast but you’re not shoving things at her. She didn't know quite what to do when you started jumping and patting around, it seems you have won her complete trust.
I feel like a good name for her is tiki, don’t ask me why 😂 it just popped into my head lol
Tiki was a name of a lesson horse that acts a lot like her! Pretty lazy mare she was 😂
Brighton And Bella bahahahaha what a coincidence I’ve never really thought of tiki as a horse name till the day I comented this, but it seems to suit a lot of horses
Maybe first? Not sure Edit: Gasp. I’m actually 1st. ❤️
TheAlpha Fang yes you are!
Congratulations on first! 🌾

Lilly Bitner :D
Yay! 🌈
Es una yegua bien manso cómo agua de estanque
Where do you get your ribbon wand?

How many days to take a complete training

eve delight yeah! I totally agree!
Why you have to leave them? 🥺
She is doing a program, she trains them so they are more adoptable by people who cannot train. If she keeps them she can’t train more. She trains them so the horses can have a better life with people at home instead of in a pen for the rest of their lives
Do you have any tips for someone thinking of getting a mustang?
When I ask my horse for a side pass he backs up🤷♀️ I’ve even tried pressing on his shoulder instead of his rib cage and it didn’t work.
Maybe work on a different cue? It seems that he thinks what you're asking for means backing up
Are you going to give this special girl a name?
49.4k
wait are u next door to sherrys house
Hmmm, I don't know if she's going to be brilliant or a dud. 🤷😂🇺🇸
What’s her name!! ??
Her name should be Cali or Angel
