Here’s an interesting fact: Hypothermia works when you get extremely cold for too long, yes. But it doesn’t start to get deadly until your body starts to quit or have a sleepy sensation. This means that your body has given up, while shivering means you still have energy. If you start to feel this, find help immediately. Shivering = good, Sleepy = bad. Edit: Now thats insane, 990 likes in 3 days??? Wow. 😍
rashingo yep! And being extremely warm/talking clothes off = EXTREMELY BAD. This is called Paradoxical Undressing, and it is when the nerve endings in the body start to go numb making people feel irrationally hot when they’re in the cold. (I’m not entirely sure if it’s numb so correct me if I’m wrong!) They will strip down their clothing and speed up their freezing to death process.
Kind of reminds me of when I got a nasty infection and they told me I had sepsis. I remember the night before just being super cold and shivery so I took a hot shower. Then I continued to feel cold but also kept falling asleep. I'm sure if I didn't go to the hospital it would have been bad but I remember once they gave me antibiotics I was sweating like crazy and felt much better. Not hypothermia but I the shivering reminded me of that.

This has always been my go-to interesting fact: The monarch butterfly migration is an insane feat of nature on its own, but there’s one part of the journey where they fly over Lake Superior. While over the lake, the butterflies will bank a left for miles, go straight, then head right again and continue their straight line. No one had any idea why they took such a huge detour over flat lake water, until it was discovered that over a MILLION years ago, there was a mountain there. The monarch butterfly migration path is so permanently engrained in their DNA they’ve been evading a mountain that has been gone for a billion of their generations.
Not so fun fact: Most laugh tracks recorded as early as the 1940's to the 1960's are still used in shows today, which means you could technically be listening to dead people's laughs while watching a sitcom.
Here’s my fun fact (since I had such fun reading everyone else’s): house cats don’t have a “white fur” gene. Instead, any cat with white fur has a “color blocking” sequence that shuts off the coloration in part or all of their coats, causing the white in the absence of color.
I feel like this one is more known but: Black Panthers don't exist and are never actually a solid black, they have spots. The cats we call Black Panthers are Leopards or Cheetahs, and they simply, due to a genetic mutation, produce too much melanin which makes it hard to but not impossible to see their spots. Also, when it comes to solid black cats most have a gene that suppresses the tabby pattern, rather than suppresses color like the white cats, others have the same thing as Black Panthers but rather than producing too much melanin the pattern isn't always suppressed.
Fun fact: The set for The Addams Family (1964) sitcom was actually pink! As far as my knowledge goes, pink was chosen over all other colours because it looked the best for black and white television!
Yep! And chocolate syrup was used as fresh blood because it’s thick and a dark color. So all those murder scenes with “blood” everywhere-it’s a set covered in sticky chocolate syrup. Imagine how gross that has to be to clean up 😂
Sorry but that is not a fact, it's a myth. It's just a hat with folds from the creation of the hat. It's design is a French Chef's ego for the hat to be taller than anyone else's, all based on the Brigade System which is the line of command in a "traditional" French kitchen. Each "level" of skill, or station learned, leads to a new hat style or change in general attire. The head Chef would be easier to see and identify with the tall hat, that's it. I know I'm late but here are a few other fact. Scar wouldve killed Simba instead of letting him run away. Also the lionesses wouldve eaten Scar if food was that scarce. The fight between Scar and Simba at the end of the the movie is not logical. If Simba only ate bugs, he wouldn't have the teeth to bite Scar in any way. Sorry for ruining like everyone's childhood. 😶

whale shark throats are the size of a quarter, so they swallow huge amounts of water and filter it for plankton and other small species. People think that because they are so big and have such big mouths they can swallow giant fish (or even humans), but in reality they live up to their nickname “gentle giant”.
Thank you, for this precious info. I was just doing an assignment on lobsters and their lifespan during winter in saltwater, ways north-west above the global line. Turns out they’re more likely to survive cooler and saltier water further north-east and where the water is high on nutrients and iron per kilometer of every fourth tube of water. They are also happiest in sand bottoms with grains on sand that weigh specifically 1.1000 gram, so it’s easier to propel of the bottom like a superhero. In small societies and families the lobsters live happily and when babies are born, only fourteen precent leave their habitat after birth? Five percent will probably die after one hundred and sixteen hours after birth in the arms of their crying fathers. Out of those fourteen percent, three percent return with partners on their own to renew the bloodlines because incest is wrong, even in the lobster world. The eleven percent settle down in other lobster societies and live happily there. Wait, we’re not spewing random funfacts?
Interesting fact: So you know that dancers generally say “5,6,7,8” they don’t start with one cause that is what say musicians, musicians say “1,2,3,4” while as you may know dancers say “5,6,7,8”
Dance steps are usually counted in 8's so they count the ones before the beginning of their routine so they're going to start in 1... I think musicians say 1, 2, 3, 4 when a song has the 4/4 metre, so they just count a whole metre before beginning in order to set the tempo...
different dancers actually use different counting/timing methods! most will count from 1 to 8 and back for simple choreographies. some will only count up to 4, some will count from 5 to 8, and some will actually make random sounds XD

Fun fact: Für Elise (written by beethoven yall have heard the song at least once in your lives) translated from german means "For Elise". Elise was some sort of nickname for a girl called Therese. But while composing the song he found out she didn't love him and was engaged with another man so he made the rest of the song so hard she'd never be able to play it. If that isn't petty idk what is.

Wow. 😍
Didn’t know that thanks for the fact
rashingo yep!
I got sleepy like 2 times in one day while it was very cold and all I had was one sweater
Yep I’ve learned that from greys anatomy except but the ppl who experienced hypothermia were already injured.

Here’s my fun fact (since I had such fun reading everyone else’s): house cats don’t have a “white fur” gene. Instead, any cat with white fur has a “color blocking” sequence that shuts off the coloration in part or all of their coats, causing the white in the absence of color.
myglasseskeepslipping Also: White cats have a much greater likeliness to be born deaf on one or both ears.

@@puffy1430 thats what surprised me too tbh
thank you, this is my favourite fun fact I've ever heard
Sorry but that is not a fact, it's a myth. It's just a hat with folds from the creation of the hat. It's design is a French Chef's ego for the hat to be taller than anyone else's, all based on the Brigade System which is the line of command in a "traditional" French kitchen. Each "level" of skill, or station learned, leads to a new hat style or change in general attire. The head Chef would be easier to see and identify with the tall hat, that's it.

- movie trailers were named because they used to be shown after the movie
- rainbows were called "bows of promise" in old victorian english
that's all :)

Fun fact: if your entire school decided not to follow the rules they really wouldn't be able to do much about it.
Ah I remember when I said to my friend "you do know if we all want to we can have an entire uprising and revolution on the school", I don't get why we never did...

fun fact: when elvis presley's 2015 if i can dream album released, it kept Justin Bieber from hitting the number one album sales of that month. in 2015.
edit: in 2015, the royal philharmonic orchestra remastered and released some of elvis's most popular songs on an album called "if i can dream."

whale shark throats are the size of a quarter, so they swallow huge amounts of water and filter it for plankton and other small species. People think that because they are so big and have such big mouths they can swallow giant fish (or even humans), but in reality they live up to their nickname “gentle giant”.
Now I want to hug one 😭

Correct grammar: Otters hold hands while they are sleeping to prevent from floating away from each other.
Fun fact: lobsters are basically immortal as long as they have enough energy to molt
When I die I will become a lobster....where's the nuce
@@rodentinthewoods3338 thank you for the very science-y fun facts I love you
Ty that was cool

Lobsters: HAH! Mortals!
I love coming back to these videos. They are so relaxing and comforting.
Just not true is it
Well that tactic that I talked about was used in the 90’s or so, so it really isn’t not very much used now at least correctly
Or there’s also 5 (beat), 6 (beat), 5,6,7,8
different dancers actually use different counting/timing methods! most will count from 1 to 8 and back for simple choreographies. some will only count up to 4, some will count from 5 to 8, and some will actually make random sounds XD
