what kind of research do I need about scuba diving

I'm trying to explain a thing to a person, and I don't know much about scuba diving specifically or in great detail.
Am I correct in assuming that the scuba rig does not use electrical parts?
I do know a thing or two about pressure gauges, and I have never come across one that relied upon electricity. I however do not assume that they do not exist.
