the battery range % is now there after Toyotas update. The update also adjusts the DC charging curve to improve the 10 to 80 percent charge experience(slight improvement)
Thanks for watching! Ok great, that is excellent news and I would be curious to see how much the curve has improved, especially on the CATL pack model (AWD Version). If you have any info or links to this, please email me at EVRevolutionShow@gmail.com!
Nothing wrong with the bz4x, go9d range, efficient motors, 10 years warranty on batteries etc etc
Thanks for watching and agree. Just wanted to make sure that prospective customers understand the charging ramifications for road tripping. Knowing the real experience is quite helpful before buying.
Update: Discovered no glove box because of leg warmer option for the front passengers. Also, forgot to mention no rear wiper....will see how that impacts visibility over winter months. With regards to warranty, in North America, it comes with industry standard 8-Years 100,000mi/160,000km component/battery coverage for 70% capacity. However in UK, it is 10-Years 620,000mi/1,000,000kms (yes 1 Million kms)! So obviously, Toyota can offer this because of the super low-risk stress they will allow the battery pack to be put under.
Sep 5 UPDATE: I've been informed by a viewer that the battery range % now shows on the drivers display, and the DC charging curve was improved slightly, to better the 10-80% experience. This after a recent Software Update. If anyone has more info on this update, please email me at EVRevolutionShow@gmail.com.
After few month now, I still love m’y bz4x XLE 4WD. Even in winter. Love it.
Hello, thanks for watching and appreciate your feedback on this vehicle! Glad you love it and it is a very nice BEV!
Great unbiased review. Thankyou!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
Great review!
Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
I would have considered buying this car when I was first shopping for a BEV back in 2019 when the battery capacites got up to 65 kWh with what I consider is a livable driving range. I looked at the Bolt, Leaf, Kona, and Niro BEV'S and I think they still compare well with Toyota's offering in 2023. AWD option is the only thing the Toyota has over them. Oh yeah that leg warmer is good for us old folks too. 😂
Thanks for watching John and yes agreed. I did not try the leg warmers but can see them being very useful! :)
I live in Portugal and I have my own limited version since July 13, and it has since from beginning battery percentage near range kms. Unfortunately my BZ4X has no wireless Android auto only wireless connectivity for Apple Car play….very strange. Despite all of these I have made more then 5000 kms and very satisfied with the car. Congratulations for your drive test. Kind regards
Thanks for watching...Portugal is on our bucket-list of beautiful countries to visit, hope we can make it one of these years!
Appreciate your feedback and comments on your experience. Glad it works nicely as I knew it would. Also, thanks for joining the "EV Revolution" with your all-electric!
Nice looking EV ,pretty edgy looking. Price is really good for a Toyota I thought it was going to be a lot more than that. Another vehicle with no one pedal driving and no rear wiper. Out here in B.C. charging stations have a long ways to go as far as 150 +kw chargers being available. It will come along as it has to.Great video. Thx.
Im in BC too, I never saw the need for rear wiper, and never used it on any vehicles. BC is really good for EV, my condo and my parents condo all have 8 charging stations so the BZ4X is gonna be a great reliable city commuter
@dougabbott8261 Thanks for watching and agree. Well at least money is being spent on improving fast charging in BC!
@XMG3 Thank for watching and I forgot to point out the lack of rear wiper. Another OEM doing it. I can see in BC, but the true test is very cold areas where we get that crap snow that gets dirty and stays around for some time. Will have to see what owners report after this winter.
im surprised no one is saying the value of the base L trim, yes its missing power seat, bigger screen, power rear gate etc but for $5000 savings, thats huge. I have a base on order here in BC, we only get $9000 combined rebate compare to QC but still good
Thanks for watching! Yes I agree and stated that (I may have said LE, but meant L). In QC, L can be about $43K, and in BC the L can be about $45K ish. That's really good.
Great show buddy and yes Toyota need do a better job in the future and get more customers to buy ev car and more model and just start a full ev but again they have to build a better ev car is the key factor.
Thanks for watching!
15.9kWh/100km is very decent for a car this size.
Thanks for watching. Yes it is that is why I am surprised at my predicted range versus actual driving differential. The pack might need to calibrate a bit more as every driver is different, however the prediction algorithms Toyota is using may need to be tweaked.
Turn the puppy on!!!😂 , not roar the monster
Thanks for watching!
You spent too much time talking about charging
Thanks for watching, well it's very important to many so I needed to spend the time on it.
Great review Ken & I understand the need to discuss the charging on this car as it's the weak spot.@@EVRevolution
Even after the update the charging is beyond annoying. So slow
Thanks for watching and for your comment. Can you let me know what annoying is, what kind of rates/time you are experiencing?
Worst ever
Thanks for watching!
