A lovely palazzo. It seems to be in very good condition with no signs of roof leaks or damp. Renovating would be a large, long and expensive task but probably worth it if you like the area. i live in Sicily - moved here from the UK on 2019 and I still can't believe house prices compared to the UK. Sometime prices fall and there alway seems to be deals to be made. It's so sad to see these beautiful buildings left empty and neglected. Good luck with your search :)
So Larry . Are you happy with your move to Sicily . I’m in the states and home prices here are crazy. My son just bought a home yesterday for 300k and it’s only 1300 square feet.
@@jeffconley819 Very happy. I left the UK for several reasons: Brexit was one as I consider myself a European. Wanting a change/challenge was another. But also as rental prices were increasing in the UK and at my age I was never going to own a home or afford to rent by the looks of it. Moving doesn't solve all your problems - it just changes them. It's not perfect here, the bureaucracy is maddening, the heat unbearable sometimes. However, we have been able to afford to buy a house and have a comfortable lifestyle. If you are thinking of moving: do your research including several visits and try and find out how things work and wether the change in lifestyle would suit you.
Now that you ask I’d love to see a fully renovated modern space . These old places are great but the rehabilitation costs would be incredibly high and take a few years to make them comfortable.
Stunning property which really showcases the gorgeous architecture of Salento. I love the integration of the features of each property, the area itself and of course the food! We cant wait to go later this year (our second time in Puglia and def not our last). We love the way you have made the Tarallo a hero of the floor plan walkthrough! Can you please share your back story of how you got inspired to create the channel?
Such a beautiful building. It’s sad that part of it was sold off and the other part we didn’t get to see. I would really love to see one of these as whole. Also, I am in love with rooftop terraces and courtyards. Can you find any properties that showcase finished courtyards and terraces? I’m curious to know how people in Italy furnish, decorate and enjoy them. Thank you for your gorgeous videos ❤❤❤
I found your channel via my recommended, I can’t tell you how grateful I am. Very interesting to see inside the world of Italian real estate and the priceless amount of history that is attached to a lot of these properties. Complimenti da un italo-americano. If you are ever in Campania it would be cool to see some of the properties from where my family came from. (Saviano, NA) Or even the rural comuni of nearby Basilicata, some of my family was from Ruoti, PZ. Grazie mille, keep up the good work.
What is it like accessing materials and tools for a renovation ? Could you do a video on the supply chain, stores and costs ? Love your videos , thinking of purchasing something.
It costs 1500-2000 euro per square meter to renovate in Italy. Prepare for very unreliable contractors and shortage of skilled labor and extremely slow bureaucracy. You will require a permits and will have to hire architects and geometras by law for virtually any time of renovation/modification you want to do on your property. This is why these propertys are so cheap!
Amazing Palazzo. I especially love all the original features. It reminds me of an appartment I owned in Milan which dated back to 1890. The floor tiling is very similar. Would cost a fortune to renovate but would make a lovely B&B.
I really enjoy the calm nature of your videos :) Since I live in Austria, I would love to see you exploring the northern provinces like Trentino-Alto Adige, Lombardia, Veneto,....
Gorgeous to say the least. Really a beauty, I liked some of the pictures of Renos from other historical properties, how they were not too invasive to the space. That kitchen ❤❤❤❤
650 sm = 7,000 sq feet - cost to renovate that much space would exceed the purchase price. Just like with old BMWs, "there's no such thing as a cheap palace".
O tamanho desse PALÁCIO é um verdadeiro absurdo !!! Ele é lindo demais !!! Eu acredito que os IMPOSTOS a serem pagos para manter esse PALÁCIO deve custar uma FORTUNA !!!
Another very well done video! Food looks awesome. I miss being in Leece. For those curious about airports, Brindisi is not far, and connects to many others.
Hello Marco. I enjoy watching your videos. Beautiful and informative. A recent episode brought us to Galatina and the absolutely smashing palace. The architecture of this palace is stunning. The size is overwhelming. The price is a steal. I’m wondering if you come upon properties of this architectural style but smaller in size in this beautiful town of Galatina? Thank you, Ross Hanley
thank you so much for visiting this palazzo :) I was recently in Salento to see if it would be the right place for me to buy my dream house and visit some... but I had to cross this one off my list because unfortunately I'm not rich enough for it 😅
Howdy! Little by little, I am going through all of your videos. You have been great about providing additional information. Food. History. Words. Place. So inspirational. I am curious! You took refuge in a church and often visited places with deep historical history. (If those walls could speak with all that they have seen) Have you ever encountered what you might be able to call a "spirit" ? Do you have any supernatural stories? Something that may have happened that suspended your skepticism (if that be the case) ?
The highlight of the building, apart from all the space, are the ceilings and frescos. The terraces are another superior feature. Unfortunately, it lacks any real character outside of that. The rooms them selves are plain and simple, no fireplaces, only one nice floor. Given the cost to renovate, its going to be a tough one.
Beautiful palace! But i guess there are reasons why it’s not been sold yet. One of the reasons i guess is there are no airports around + lots of money to restore it.
Your videos are fantastic, really well made. What is the name of the hotel with the circular shower at 6:35? I’ve seen it somewhere before but can’t remember it.
Another wonderful video and excellent presentation! Bravo 👏 🎊 Lovely palazzo, I’ll buy it (haha!) 😂 but seriously, doesn’t the government have a very interesting incentive for renovators of historical properties? The investment is paid back at 110% or something?? It makes it a possibility for someone to borrow enough to do the job correctly and promises a return on the loan, but I imagine it’s more complicated than it might seem. Thank you, maestro videographer!
@@sfnyc thank you for the very realistic insights. I will certainly keep this in mind. But there is so much potential I just wish, for Italy’s sake, that the government could make things possible rather than less likely. Grazie mille.
I hope you get fat eating all those pastries. Even I can't eat that many constantly and I'm skinny compared to you. 😂😅😂😅😂😅 The lunches look healthy, though. 😍 These palazzos are always so confusing the way they are arranged. I always get lost. 😮 Ciao! 😊😊
I was wondering if you could say more things about proximity to airports and hospitals for those of us considering retirement to Italy. If coming from another country, as I understand, a cash buy is likely needed. Are you a realtor and local of this area?
Beautiful bones but it would needed it a lot of Reno and also if it historic building you can’t just do what you want with building there will be regulations so I would thing at the end it will cost around million euro
any idea (rough order of magnitude or hi/lo) on reno costs? in total or by m/sq? i do know ‘it all depends’, but there has to be a starting cost and a fool-to-spend-€-more limit looking for a project in s.italy
I wouldn't let them pay ME to take that house. Why? Renovation is one thing, but *restoration* is quite another VERY VERY expensive and/or time consuming task of monumental proportions. I've seen properties like this where when you punched the wall, the plaster fell off onto the floor from dampness.
sorry, I realized after watching several more that I didn't have the volume up loud enough to hear it. I had guessed up close to a million, that's amazing, what a place.
We love your videos, you give us the opportunity to travel from Australia to wherever you are and my husband will definitely join you for a sweet breakfast every time 😅 please let us know if you ave instagram or you decide to do live videos. Lots of regards from Australia
That opening is Oscar worthy.
I love the addition of the pastries. When/if I buy a place, a big factor will be the local shops within its radius.
Wow! This palazzo is amazing. Galatina is enchanting. And your videos are so stylish. Plus I love how you always make time for FOOD! Food = Love! ❤

What a magnificent structure and what possibilities!!! Great video
Could you do some videos covering rural properties? Specifically farms, or estates with generous land. Thanks for making these amazing videos!
Yes, please.
Same request..

I would love to see Lecce Litorale little seaside villas, per piacere 😊
Beautiful and large means lots of money to renovate. No international airports. Yes nice but for the very brave with a large budget.
I would love to see some farmhouses and small farms in the surrounding area. Fantastic content, deliciously presented 😊. ❤
Quite funny having this video suggested by UA-cam if you are a Galatina's citizen... and I was having an Ascalone's pasticciotto for my break lol!

You won’t find many fireplaces in Salento, the weather really doesn’t call for it. These palazzi were fairly simple with fine furnishings.
What a beauty!
Beautiful palace! But i guess there are reasons why it’s not been sold yet. One of the reasons i guess is there are no airports around + lots of money to restore it.
These properties are often tied up with centuries of families making them very hard to sell. This is one of the last for sale in this town.
Thank you 🙏

What a beautiful Palazzo!! let’s get 300,000 people to pay a dollar each so we can all buy it!!😁
You'd be into this for 1 million after rennovation, if you could get plans approved, and probably take 2 years or more.
