Season 1 of Cardfight Vanguard is probably the best I’ve seen for that. Season 1 and several episodes in every season are just friends playing card games.
Not gonna lie, the ending completely caught me off-guard the first time just like Chaotic Crisis, there were way too many plot holes in the canonical fanfic that were intentionally glaringly obvious that I wasn't able to notice.

There needed to be mode episodes like this in the show where they actually use the card's then perhaps more people would've taken up Chaotic. I honestly don't recall another moment in the show where they actually played with the cards besides from the beginning of the series there needed to be a healthy mix of the two not just the monster Battles.
The game didn’t die from a lack of player base, it died because 4Kids tried to steal the rights to the game. They also had a few episodes where they played physical: when Tom lost maxxor, and outside the doors to the deep mine. I’m not saying I wouldn’t have liked an actual tutorial episode, just that they did play more than they seemed to.
Exactly, Yu-Gi-Oh did a heck of a lot better in that regard because, "Screw The Rules" moments and card reprints aside, most matches in the show are _possible_ with the IRL cards, and it's entirely possible to learn to play the IRL game from watching the show. Chaotic is two _completely different_ games, you can't "dodge attacks" in the card game and you're not restricted to "drawing from an attack deck" in the drome battles.
I still remember the commercial for this specific episode stating that this episode will be the series finale...when i saw that commercial and heard what was said. Sure you theoretically could see it that often in a match but usually you’d have to recycle it with other card’s effects. Or else have some long cycling battles that reshuffle your attack deck. Which seems unlikely when he’s using a Mugician focused team with pretty low energy. Could be that he doesn’t own a lot of Underworlder cards or great attacks for them so he was just trying to be clever with ones he knows. Which could also explain why the counterfeiter’s deck was mostly buff versions of reasonably common creatures. Peyton’s not seen that many really ultra rare cards that a man who could make any card for his deck might play. Or the strategies that go with them.
In peytons match with counterfighter, counterfighter uses searring symphony which is an underworld mugic but he was playing with overworlders another flaw in peytons story

Counterpoint if chaos prevents gain elements not take away their thinking elemental denial 4. Scarab of ankyha prevents losing elements not reduce damage 5. Zamool prevents mugic and abilities while he battles so mugic couldn’t have been cast 6. Incessant wave does 15 with water 7. Cadence clash doesn’t require 2 mugics refrain of denial does

Could you imagine a VR game of Chaotic ??
I’d settle for something in the realm of Pokémon go
i feel Like the Actor is Suppose to be Drawn Like the Actor who played him Scott ray
Anyone else think that most overworlder designs are furries
Nah thats literaly the overworlders, furrys and aliens
Why isn’t Paytons last name confirmed on the chaotic Wiki?
Mistakes show made
1. Arthoa has water not fire
2. Magmon engulf gives fire 5 and reckless 5 to all underworlders with fire so gladiators fire does 20 0r 25 always not 15
3. Counterpoint if chaos prevents gain elements not take away their thinking elemental denial
4. Scarab of ankyha prevents losing elements not reduce damage
5. Zamool prevents mugic and abilities while he battles so mugic couldn’t have been cast
6. Incessant wave does 15 with water
7. Cadence clash doesn’t require 2 mugics refrain of denial does
If only he would’ve used his counterfeiting abilities for good orica cards instead of evil forgeries…
Why does he have a online accountant if he only plays the card game
So this counter fighter don't know chaotic is real
What the fuck is this show and why was season 1 look so bad and this looks off too?!
1: At 0:01 to 0:51, Oooh I really like that Overworlder that looks like a gorilla 🦍 with four arms. His name is Illiar correct?
2: At 4:25 to 5:37 and at 19:26 to 20:14, you gotta be kidding me, who does Peyton think his is 007 or something.
3: There is no way that Peyton did all of that, and there is no way that any of this is true.
This was fanfiction that he made up for a contest.
Kinda lame how Petyon lost Zamool so quickly. You'd think he would have done better with one of the most broken creatures in Chaotic.
Tom and kaz only liked the story because peyton mentioned that they were in it
More flaws with peytons story
why would counterfighter have a screenname if he doesnt play online and plays with cards and if he doesnt play online how does he know about peyton
Counter-fighter....counter fitter.....really?
Sad thing is, I’ve heard worse and weirder fanfics than this. Peyton’s imagination is good but making a good cohesive story needs a little work. Still, interesting stuff. At least it’s not just “AND THEN THEY KISS CUZ I SAID SO!!!”
😅
To be honest, this episode was boring. Because I prefer drone matches, not playing cards.
@Michael Taylor true, but still.
