Have you ever tried making potato chips or big hot beancurd sheets yourself? Speaking of snacks in Yunnan, surely there will be handmade potato chips. Actually, we can eat potatoes three meals a day, which even would give us the potato order when we speak. Whether it's the golden and crispy deep-fried potato chips, the numb-spicy beancurd sheets, the crunchy millet crisp crusts, the mung bean cakes that would melt in your mouth, or the icy-cold glutinous rice ice pops, they are all our favorite summer snacks.

the one thing i love about watching videos of her and Li Zi Qui is that i barely, or even haven't seen so far any plastic objects in the entirety of their videos. i see wooden pails, bowls, utensils, sometimes glass, but never plastics. this adds to the earthy and calming feeling in watching them.
That's a nice, BIG freezer though. One day I want a stove like that one she was using. By the way... the ice lollies were made in plastic molds.
Li Zi Qui would intentionally buy new stuff for her videos(you can tell pot or containers are new), but imo I think a lot of time Xiaoge just use whatever she can obtain around her. Well, maybe I was wrong. I just appreciate Xiaoge more and I barely watch Li Zi Qui. As a Chinese, Xiaoge seems so much natural to me. Although I've never live a life in the countryside, I know Xiaoge is representing a realistic side of LIFE.

@@lunawhite4779 I don't like Li Zi Qi because her videos seem too artificial to me. I know this is staged as well but it still gives off way more natural and simplistic vibe than Li Zi Qi's videos. They're too tacky in my opinion.

I love how they seem to have a village farmland that its tended by everyone and harvested by everyone as needed. No fighting, no politics. A wholesome community with a mutual understanding.

But after I moved to city for school, and been here for many years, going back to countryside villages, seeing a cockroach run by would scare me
@@tizzy-hizzy pollution sometimes there was cockroaches like in the corner 0f the room watching you sleep it was very very scary. Needless to say I’m extremely afraid of bugs. But one thing that was good is that if you literally know everyone. You get so much free food, other that it wasn’t that bad. Other than the occasional energy shortages and the bugs and the unclean winter we still had air conditioning.

She is realy lucky to have a big garden and natural surroundings...
This isn't her garden, it's the property of the village's farmers. You can see on other videos they pay the farmers or trade with them for the right to take some crops. This is how the village sustains itself.

I love every part of it, from the beautiful landscape where she picks or plugs fresh ripened vegetables or fruits, then cutting style and sound, making different recipes out of it and then serving with everyone in the family specially the elderly ones. Her work is awesome and the nature she is living in, i doubt there might be any health issues. Superb work!!!
What impressed me is not the foods, it is this young lady's house work and country life skills and attitude.

I've always been curious when you go harvesting ingredients; some places you're foraging, getting things from other locals, but often you go to these large fields of produce and there will be others in the background, and I wonder: Are these fields some sort of open farm the whole village shares? Is it your family's own farm, or are you paying/trading with the field's owner to harvest there?

I love her bamboos utensils, in rural India it is used but nowadays we are shifting to modern utensils....but soop, dagra ( bamboo plates) and bamboo kalchhi is awesome.

Am a bit curious why some are so hooked on how much money the different vloggers make. Consider how much a movie star makes, and how much you enjoy the films or TV series.
To me the only criterion here is that I really enjoy the videos in all repects, that all three I watch (Liziqi, Dianxi Xiaoge, and XiaoXi's Culinary Idyll) come across as very nice, dedicated and industrious persons, so then whatever they make from their efforts is totally irrelevant. And whatever it is, it is well deserved for the joy they bring to so many.

Shyo Video 山药视频 are also great!
Those people are probably money-obsessed or just plain jealous. Back when it was only people they saw in movies or on TV that were raking in $$$, they were OK about it because those stars seemed to live on another plane of existence from the rest of us. But Liziqi, Apenjie and other hardworking UA-camrs are 'real' people like you and me. How dare they make all this money and make them (the haters) feel bad about themselves!!

I'm a born Chinese, but live in Austria and in my perspective, I think this has a lot to do with the mentality. China is as the US in some perspective a very materialistic country. For them only money has more worth then anything else, although they forget that it only brings short time satisfaction. That's why you have the feeling of never have enough and the consumerism is insane. However, they forget why UA-camrs like this start doing these kind of videos. They are from very poor places and the main intention is to get some attention to this places to heighten the living quality. Also it's not that Xiao Ge is greedy or something. Her dad is sick and that's why she decided to go home and make an income this way. She is actually a police officer, graduated from the Sichuan University Police Academy. She was about to become a homicide detective. If she want to, she could keep her job as an officer, but she decided to help her mum with taking care of her dad. This is what a lot of people forget.
And FYI, what’s rarely known even in China is Dianxi Xiaoge was awarded twice for bravery: One was to save passengers from a burning bus, another was rescuing people during a dangerous mudslide.
I miss the subtitles. They help me learn about your cooking. Without them, I am just guessing. Love your videos
