      I think it's the way he pauses and the way he doesn't always use, "He/she said... ." It really draws the listener in; makes you feel like you're there.

    Just think, the one guy who makes it out alive to tell real cosa nostra stories turns out to be one of the most masterful storytellers in history. Every Sammy video gives you that feeling you got the first time you watched Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Casino.

    I can close my eyes and visualize every story from beginning to end!!! Old timers (no offense Sammy! Haha) such as Sammy, mobster or not, are fading away on the daily!!! These stories are fuckin great!!! I've listened to the full season 1 podcast 3 times!!!! And every time I hear it is like the 1st time I heard it!!! I salute you, Sammy!!!

    You can tell Sammy is 1000% honest about his guys all staying to go to war with him because of how emotional he gets. He puts his hand to his lips and touches his watch when he’s getting emotional and he does that a couple times during that point. Sammy is an amazing storyteller. I hope people can get by their bullshit view of him and give his stories a chance because they are amazing

    As I do agree with most of what everyone says about Sammy being a good story teller every one is forgetting about the producer of the shows. The guy that asks him all the minor details and picks apart the stories in order to put them in perfect descriptive format. He is part of the reason these stories are told so well

      The same reason why we live all over a nation which used to force humans to work, killing them if they refused.
      If we abandoned every location with a dark history, we would currently be floating around the north and south poles in a sea of ice.
      Educating youth in an effort to keep them from creating their own dark history is a damn good use of that location.

      They took a location which used to be used for unsavory behavior and bad habits and turned it into a center for education.
      How is that "bad"?
      I could understand if they turned it into a casino or something else equally useless.
      But EVERYONE ALIVE needs an education.
      Otherwise we end up with people believing they somehow live on a plate.
      Legitimate education centers are always a good thing. At least that is my current view.

    Sammy is one of the best story tellers! It's like being a kid sitting on the floor listening to your grandpa tell a story. You can't pull yourself away from it and the way he tells it you can just visualize it.

    Sammy my dad had an 8th grade education level. He missed most of his Freshman year then He went to prison at 16 for 5 years . He became a carpenter and was one of the best around. His finish carpentry work was excellent and he was a master storyteller about his younger days and hunting trips. Thanks for reminding me of how much I love and miss him. AMF

    Netflix needs to make a series out of these stories. Like five seasons of Sammy's whole life, encompassing all these stories. A movie wouldn't be anywhere near long enough. Each story is at least an hour long episode. This story could be a movie on it's own!
