May I put forward something a Jordie mate told me once. “Put a leather strap on it wound round your wrist. Why? Because you’ll drop it all the time when hit. Hi Matt, I’m physically disabled and I live in a state where we are unable to “carry”. Also, the penalty for being in possession of an expanding baton, bladed weapon, stun gun, etc is automatic and severe. All of these items may not legally leave your home. Any advice on self defense is welcome here!!!! Thank w

When i am a bad area and feel unsafe and keep in my car in case i am attacked a carry a mini sledge hammer than i bought at harbor freight tools. I guarantee you no matter what part of the body it hits its going to do major damage. I think most people see you have a sledge hammer in your hand , i don't think they don't want to risk being hit and severely hurt.
good info. Subscribed. I am always carrying 2-3 basic weapons as you described, I am going to look for shillelagh as a walking stick, good for travel, hiking and other instances
Matt you are right. There's Police shortage everywhere in world right now in fact I come from South Europe and we have same problems here because of police shortage.
Some great idea here. In my opinion, pepper spray is terrible idea, as it creates a false sense of security. I've seen three different people sprayed, with little success. My favorite self-defense tool is paying-attention. My second is my Airweight .38 Special with the front sight removed. It lives in my back pocket. Worry about the jury after you save your family. There are some very good key rings with "palm sticks", the "Kubotan" being my personal carry. Nice you mentioned Mr. Tak Kubota.
I think that while an LEO will end up wrestling a subject, a civilian can simply spray the attacker and then open up the distance between them and the subject. There is no need to close with an attacker as a non LEO. Spray, distance, 911.
Right. It’s definitely a better thing to use for non LEOs. Imo Best thing for LEOs is being smart and using backup as they’re required to do to apprehend the perp. For the regular person. Get a stream type and high MC OC content Have it in hand if truly feel unsafe (like you can’t with a CC) and if one accosts. Hit em with it then gtfo. And stay out of bad neighborhoods and be home and a decent time of night haha

The wood dowels can be improved by drilling small center holes on either end and placing a metal bolt inserted up to the head into the ends. Same idea, attach a metal washer (same diameter as dowel) with a bolt or wood screw into the ends. The heavier and sturdier grey PVC pipes (with or without caps) are a good substitute for dowel sticks and can be filled with sand for extra weight - when asked why you have one - a DIY construction project.

In Germany we are not allowed to even carry a simple kitchen knife...
The German government seems to hate its citizens. I here about bullying from the Greens and the government almost daily from my friend who lives there.
Thank w
I carry an 18" Guatemalan flute in San Francisco. Also consider an extremely powerful spotlight- 100,000 lumens, to temporarily blind a criminal.
Carry a hammer and say you're doing construction
A carpet cutter
@@DBCooper3 Even that is limited in California. However, I sometimes carry a ballpeen hammer in a shopping bag. When I go for a walk I carry and 18" wooden flute.
Use a metal pen. Something to draw with, to take notes but also can be used for defense. The excuse is, well, lots of people carry pens to write with.
Unless politicians who passed these bills live by them themselves, why should you. They have armed guards to do their dirty work. They must leed by example.
Gel peper its better that spry. Gel does not fly back.
This guy is a great teacher! Awesome content.
A telescoping club (AKA: a “Zippo”) is illegal in most US municipality’s & is considered unlawful carrying of a weapon.
😮😊thanks Matt for the tips and tools😊
good info. Subscribed. I am always carrying 2-3 basic weapons as you described, I am going to look for shillelagh as a walking stick, good for travel, hiking and other instances
good afternoon Mr Matt watching from Daly City California!
Thanks
They have a hiking stick that is a taser they sell at Cabelas.
Matt you are right.
There's Police shortage everywhere in world right now in fact I come from South Europe and we have same problems here because of police shortage.
Thank you for sharing that! We live in challenging times all around the world!
THE TRUTH IS:
Police don't stop criminals or prevent crime!
@@turtletruth sometimes.
Are you from Bavaria? Austria? Slovenia?
Some great idea here. In my opinion, pepper spray is terrible idea, as it creates a false sense of security. I've seen three different people sprayed, with little success. My favorite self-defense tool is paying-attention. My second is my Airweight .38 Special with the front sight removed. It lives in my back pocket. Worry about the jury after you save your family. There are some very good key rings with "palm sticks", the "Kubotan" being my personal carry. Nice you mentioned Mr. Tak Kubota.
Varg Freeborn's book "Violence of Mind" is a very good resource!
Everyday I carried two or three different things concealed one of course is my cane thanks Matt everybody will soon be on their own 😮
I think that while an LEO will end up wrestling a subject, a civilian can simply spray the attacker and then open up the distance between them and the subject.
No need to stay out at clubs til 3am either. One of the biggest best lessons I learned. Don’t be where and when the shit starts lol
Carry your own self defense weapons and get arrested by the cop who wasn’t there when you were attacked. That is the stark reality. Get rid of those who dare to be self reliant
Thank you sir for your advice, be prepared indeed.
I like channel locks with nice sticky rubber handles.
It helps to have a big strong arm and hand like you do 😊 Still appreciated seeing these ideas. Thank you 😊
To my female friend I give a suggestion Buying a framing hammer Or a Cedar shake Hammer good for Close quarter combat
If one cannot fight without a weapon, then one cannot fight with one.
Know how to fight, have the will to fight, and everything becomes a weapon.
Excellent point Hugh!
God bless you nice advice where I can buy these things cane still please let me know thx
Thank you. Get a rattan self defense cane in this store bit.ly/2ZS1Cku

Yes. There are many places to buy them.
Hi Matt, great info from San Antonio..
Excellent idea!
Damn savage 🤪
Thank you for sharing your self defence techniques:)))
I carry suv shock absorber...
That would hurt!
Excellent video Matt, and thanks for the tip on the book
Great presentation!
What would you choose If you only had the PR24 and the Tonfa on hand but you were only allowed to choose one, plus you know an enemy is heading towards your house right now.? 🤨
PR24. It is heavier, longer, harder.
Thanks again Matt!
