Thanks Russ. Nice to see the viewpoint from the train . Been to most of the other spots trackside but what a difference.

I remember travelling on the Horseshoe Curve in 1966 when I was 6 years old. From Canton, Ohio to Altoona, PA on the PRR.

Rick, that was in the good old days of the mighty PRR, when there were four tracks on the Horseshoe Curve! And in 1966 I was working for the PRR while attending Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Steve, thanks! Sorry 😢 about the dirty rear window and side window! And I got to the side window after we had already started rounding the World 🌎 Famous Horseshoe Curve!

@@russellsharptrainvideos No worries! I was at Horseshoe curve and Galitzen in August, cool to see it from the trains' perspective!

That was a fun ride. A different and interesting point of view from the Virtual Railfan camera at the curve.
First time seeing one of your videos, I'll be back...

Russell, I really enjoy your videos, but you misstated a few things on this one: The tunnel you went through is the Allegheny tunnel, which was double-tracked, notched and the roadbed lowered in the early '90's (not the '60's as stated)so Conrail could run double stacks through it. The sealed tunnel is Gallitzen tunnel, which was rendered obsolete by the improved Allegheny Tunnel. And I was at Cassandra when you went by! If I'd known you were aboard and filming, I would've waved! Keep posting your great trips.

Durrell, thanks 😊! Regarding the tunnels at Gallitzin, before the video I had done a search and what I narrated was what came up on the search.

If only Amtrak would bring back the old open-platform observation cars, and clean the windows properly!
