So complicated but finally after almost 3 hours of watching the video and just playing with it I figured it out. But I strongly believe they could have done a better job in the video, better explanation and instructions... btw what are the buttons RND abd CD for??
RND = Random ON/OFF ( 5 or 10 Minutes early or late From Setting) to Fool Buglers. CD = Count Down Time. I Didn't get Instruction Manual. Can Someone Post a Link to That?
I agree. Had to watch sooooo many times if only the video was a little more comprehensive. What are the extra buttons ( RND & CD) for?
Holly shit !!! I spend 2 min
@@shannonmcmillen5434 So this will fool people who play the bugle??
Also works for the 24/7 Daewoo timer! Thanks for this!
Ok, just got this and it was a serious problem not mentioned. When you are turning the timer on. There are 3 modes On Auto and Off. Here's the thing. Turning it on does not turn the timer on. It turns the plugs on regardless of the timer. Auto is the timer. Also when hitting the mode button you will notice that it goes, on - auto - off - auto -on. Basically changing from one to the other going one way then the other. This, I think, is because it has a time on and time off and relies on that. Thus when you are hitting the mode button and it goes from on to auto, the plugs will be on. then you go to off and then back to auto and the plugs will be off. I'm not sure I'm explaining this so you'll understand but basically if you are starting plugging in your stuff and you are in the middle of the time when it's suppose to be on, then hit the mode button till it goes from on to auto. If it's suppose to be off then hit mode till it goes to off and then changes to auto.
Thanks for that input - that was my problem - getting the unit to turn on and off (after the programmed time was entered).
Manual button.
Yes! This was my problem thank you!
Thanks for this!
THANK YOU!!!. I WAS LIKE WTF IS GOING ON!!! BIG BIG HELP. I was literally about tho throw this thing in the garbage! lol
Great instructional video! I had lost my instruction (I use this timer for my Christmas trees), and this video solved it, thank you!
Just got two of this. Very happy with the design. Once all days are set, just set to on, and if within the set time, switch stays on when you put back in Auto. Something which my previous timer refuses to do! I actually had to set an extra program to turn it on in about a couple of minutes, just to get it going (irritated me a lot!). So yeah, I highly recommend this, especially for aquarists like me. ^_^
Glad I found this because the unit is confusing but this helped a lot I kept forgetting to press Manual after plugging in to set the auto
Love this video used it now like 5 times!
I have a Noma unit and mine turned off 5:44am but didn't come back at 5:45am. Only wanted to power down for one minute in a 24 hour cycle to reboot my LTE cell internet modem every night. I'll figure this little thing out I hope.
I just found one of these at the local SAVERS thrift store with another surge protector for only $5.99! It's brand new too! Now I need to figure it out for my recreational grown cannabis plant!
How come when I press manual mode the last step the lamp comes on? How do you have the lamp come on at the set time?
Is it possible to have program two different things for different times or do they both have to be on the same timer?
mine isnt working because I didnt let it charge first.. should I plug it in then rest??? then set the timer again
UP button for increase/forward should be on the RIGHT, DOWN button for decrease/backward should be on the LEFT.
i.e. as per English language reading direction.
That change alone would make the user interface an order of magnitude easier to use.
I disagree, put up and down on one side of the timer and arrange the 4 other buttons logically to the other side. Why put up and down side by side when they could literally be above and below each other.
@@alexreith4877 Perhaps - if you were doing a complete redesign. Changing the left right buttons could be done in software, or via a minimal PCB routing change. No need for a complete re-tool of the enclosure.
But either way you have to agree that the current arrangement of buttons is completely counter intuitive.
So frustrated with my timer that I dismantled and rewired the two buttons on the PCB circuit board the other way around. At least now I can program the darn thing without throwing it across the room in frustration.
Is there a pm and am option
What does RND do ?
What they left out was how to change the 24hr clock to 12hr
Simple just push SET and CD at the same time...
I’m confused why would I have to change it from 24 hour clock to 12 hour like what is that about?
@@tar3002 been so long I don't remember what it was about
Why wasn't the clock adjustment in the written manual?
Thank you!! I was able to setup real quick.
The red light is on when charging, but reset doesnt do anything and pressing SET for 2 seconds doesnt do anything. Help?
i see, so after watching so many videos that never got me anywheres, i plugged my lamp in this time, pressed auto, off and on with lamp on and one of them shut the lamp off ... so hopefully when i set the timer for 8pm the light will come but i won't be here to find out ...
I don’t have up and down button
Does it need to be plugged into a wall or can i plug it on an extension cord
You can use both same
Will setting just 1 off and 1 on do all 7 days or do i set 7 on/off presets for 7 days thats what is confusing me
I assume youve figured this out by now already but for future reference to those that see your question and are wondering the same thing...
When choosing the day(s) settings of your timer, you must cycle through the days individually mon, tues, weds etc etc up to sun and then it will give you the full 7 days mon-sun option and if you continue cycling through from that point you'll be given a few other options as well like every other day, just weekdays, just weekends and maybe a few other options before starting back at the monday... you can also press the down button from Monday and cycle reverse through the various settings.
How do you turn on the OTHER outlet?
The outlet timer allows you to control 2 different devices simultaneously. The devices with be on the same schedule. Hope this helps!
How does the time work on it tho there’s no start time only the amount of hours for lights....
Mach1Alex it’s military time there is a way to switch it by breading cd and set at the same time
@@arranjohnson9795 my timer won't shut the lights off and its on 12* hour mode
Set - its a ( Enter) like on pc
So, for the ''on'' time i put 18:00 and the ''off' time i put 6:00 because i want 18 hrs of light and 6 hrs of darkness. Did i do this right?
18:00 is 6pm
6:00 is 6am
The default is 24 hour time
No you didnt. 18:00 is the same as 6:00 (PM) . You would have therefore ran for 12 hours until 06:00 (AM)
I can’t get mine to turn back on . It will turn off at the time I need but not turn back on . Also how do I change the am/ pm
There's a 24 or 12 hour mode. Says in instructions Try the 12 hour mode
Its in 24 hrs not 12s
I need this to activate a device every 10 minutes. Is that possible?
Unfortunately, this device can only store up to 10 programs. So technically you can only set this up to happen 10 times for one timer.
I failed twice to set up start time on Sunday, anyone can help ? Thanks

Easy to follow. Thanks for the video. Took no time at all.
I've gone through this video countless times and still can't figure out how to set it up. Is there someone I can call or is there another more detailed video arround. I just bought several of these and don't want to have to send them back for a refund.
Hello, sorry for the delayed response. Please contact us at support@fospower.com and we can help you better from there. Thanks!

@@Fospower In your instructional video, y'all need to include the tip on how to change the mode from 24 hr. to 12 hr. It's very easy to fix but I had to search to learn how to do it. Why isn't this in the video? Otherwise, I've been using three of these timers for years. Great product!
For any one ** switch between 24hr or 12hr** by Holding down the SET & CD buttons at the same time....
Thanks that was helpful!
There is another timer that uses the same microprocessor and uses the same buttons and programming functionality. If you are struggling with the instructions then do a UA-cam search for the “Crest” branded timer where there is a much more detailed explanation in two separate videos, 1 and 2.
thank you for helping your fellow youtubers you are much appreciated
@@serpentrae Glad to help.
Definitely. Thanks for the advice. The Crest Digital Timer Setup videos are much easier to understand. The Fospower written instructions are even more confusing.
ok now how to get 12 hour format? 🤔💭💭💭
Hit "SET" and "CD" at the same time to switch back and forth between 12h and 24h modes

How do I turn off the EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING alarm noise that goes on and stays on for literally 2 minutes once the 1st off tome hits. Insanely annoying.
No Am and Pm display
Ok got it
I like how there’s random buttons on there 😂
all of the comments from people that are mad about it being in 24h format are seriously youtube gold.
Shining examples on how not to be a dumbass. It is beautiful.

This product is so complicated
Hello Adam,
Sorry if you find this complicated. Please drop us an email or call us so we can guide you through it. Thank you!
After all these comments from people that purchased your product, you would think that you would get a hint and make an easier video.
I will just return mine and get my money back. Hitting your pocket may give you a hint.
Hello Dee Zee, we are sorry to hear it does not work out for you. If you still have any question about the product, feel free to email us so we can send you a whole details of instruction.
Get rid of the music and have someone narrate the instructions, or at least use a chime sound to indicate when the video moves on to the next step. This is too complicated to follow without taking your eyes off the screen, or constantly pausing the video at every step which is beyond tedious. I've had these timers for years now and one of my units stopped displaying the lower half of the screen, but I'd rather struggle through it than throw out an otherwise functional timer, but following these instructions while counting in my head to keep track of what I should be seeing on the screen is a major pain in the ass. I'd blame it all on the faulty screen except that I remember setting this up the first time was a pain in the ass.
Unclear video and mute what is that I regret my money
One of the most poorly designed products available today. Took hours to understand the programming. Should have kept my old Intermatics running.
Would have been nice to have verbal directions also instead of the horrible music.👎👎👎👎!
not a good video on how to set up. It just says repeat steps to set up days. Well what ARE THEY???
Why am I here
pretty frustrating.. the instructions are below par ..
Hello Violet,
Please go through the manual again to make sure that you didn’t miss a step, since missing just one can mess up the whole program.
One of the common mistakes we see is that the OFF/ON program is not set correctly, so their plugged in device doesn’t turn on or off properly at the set times. Make sure to check the “days” that are properly set for the timer as well.
Another important thing is to make sure the timer is set to “AUTO” if you want to use a program. If you don’t, it will either be on the “ON” or “OFF” setting. If it is on the “ON” setting, then the out will always be on, so whatever you plug in will always stay on whether you like it or not. If it is on the “OFF” setting, then the outlet will always be off, so even if you plug something into it, it will not power on or whatnot. Some people accidentally leave it on the random function which can make you think something is wrong with the timer as well. This is indicated by the “R” on the LCD.
If you still have any question about the product, feel free to email / call us so we can guide you through it.
This video doesn't help AT ALL they seriously need to do a different video on specifically how to work this thing so now I got it and set it and it doesn't go off at the time I set it for tf?
I gave up! I feel ripped off!
I hate this timer. Thought it would be easy and I don’t think I’m stupid
i have a good idea, Put your hand in front of the screen so no one can see what you are doing.
This too complicated. Not to mention there in no program that will apply to all 7 days. Annoying.
Far more complicated than it should be. Instructions are poor. I will be throwing this in the the trash.
People will complain about its complexity, but those same people would complain about overcomplexity if they designed it any other way lol. It's just one of those things you have to figure out yourself if you want to use it how the way you want. Sometimes I feel bad for these companies who design these things so well, but people will return it cuz they're too dumb for simple programming
I followed the instructions both in the package insert and on this video and the unit simply does not respond as described. For example, when I press the RND button, no "R" appears on the screen. It did turn on my lamp "randomly," but instead of a 10- to 31- minute period between 6 pm and 6 am as it's supposed to do per the instructions, it came on and stayed on for hours.
@@Gira21Gramos That's because you programmed it incorrectly.
@@GeorgeWPush according to the instructions they came with, what it did is not supposed to be possible.
