- I have always been intrigued by J. Press and its enduring appeal as one of the most iconic and revolutionary menswear stores in the past century. As I delved deeper into its history, I uncovered more and more amazing stories. To have thrived for 122 years, J. Press must have done something right, and the more I learned about the brand, the more impressed I was.
Special Thanks to Robert Squillaro, Jim Fitzgerald, and Richard Press.

While other once-great men’s’ stores, such as Trippler and Chipp, have vanished, others, such as BB, have completely lost their way. Thanks the Lord, Press has stayed the course! We are better for it!
Pure class! A company holds and cherishes traditional clothing styles and manufacture. That's what today's mass production, multi chain stores lacks both in quality and wear value. Rock on "J. Press" forever!!!
Wonderful company history. Thanks for sharing. In watching this video it reminds one why fit is so important in shirts, sport coats and suits.
Great video!
well done Timothy
Nice video!
The build quality is not so great tho
An overpriced overpriced J Crew basically
J crew was partially inspired by j press. But not the same really
Whorsipped his Grandfather yet let some Japanese company take over. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
While I see your worry, the funny thing is that there is a large portion of Japan that have shown a deep appreciation for American Ivy and Americana heritage style along with its preservation. Its in Better hands there rather than with an American VC company imo.
The Japanese have a strong affinity for keeping the Ivy League aesthetic alive. Take Ivy is a great example of their passion, and even Uniqlo offers items that fit the aesthetic.
It not being owned stateside is the better option, especially when so many clothing companies are owned by vulture capitalists that degrade brands into the dust bin.
if it wasnt for onward j press as a company would not exist lol
