Very good video as always. Just a pointer for the future: The electrostars in Train Sim have a hill start button (Crtl+D). Drivers on the real railway are taught always to pull away using this button. With the button pushed in, step one brakes are applied. When the driver takes power, the brakes will remain in step one until the button is released. You may already know about this, but I just thought I'd mention it as this route has a lot of hill starts.
I soo desperately wanna see you do Shenfield to Liverpool Street as it's my childhood, I've said this before but seeing those shots at the start made me have flashbacks and really wish you would do it! Videos Great as ever really enjoy watching them!
I fully intend to cover this route in the not too distant future. I've been waiting for the Armstrong Powerhouse/Waggonz Class 315 unit to come out first so I have the correct train for the journey, and then I will be making this video. :)
Hey PTGRail not a bad video. I stumbled across this while looking for some new TS routes to try out and wondered how well they had implemented the North London line. Its not a bad effort but a few points I'll make (I havent watched the whole video) For clarity I'm a real life train driver and I used to sign both the North London line and the Class 378 units. The timetable can be easily kept. I'm sure the distances are correct. You mention gradients. A 378 is immensely powerful. Under AC power it will storm its way to 40 mph in just over 20 seconds. Also We don't say idling - we say coast or power 'off' position. Idling is more appropriate for diesel traction.
+simonmd2000 This video took a lot of work to put together, from the learning to the recording to the editing! The new PC handles the game very well indeed now, though even then I do still occasionally get a little bit of lag. :)
I'm afraid there is no PC that can run this with 100% no lag, the very old 32bit game engine is just too overworked. I think you've got it as good as it can be and considering youre recording as well, it's very good. It's such a shame that DTG don't go the extra mile and give us some Underground stock, even just for AI use, Richmond and the lines up to it would look so much better with it. Looking forward to the next video, keep 'em coming!
I'm so excited!!!!:D I just ordered a new gpu so I'll finally be able to play all my games, including this, at max settings!!!!:D I currently have to run as lowest settings.
+Class380Fan Thanks! It sure did! I drove this route through several times to try and perfect the driving technique - and still made a couple of mistakes in this final video lol XD
Peter, another fine video full of interest and sharp images. Just a small point in case you do another video of the North London line: Brondesbury is pronounced as if the "e" between the "d" and the "s" was not there and is one syllable shorter than you made the name. Many thanks. Roger Crick
+Roger Crick Thank you Roger! As always, I'm glad you enjoyed this video. I didn't realise that about the pronunciation of Brondesbury. So I'm guessing the 'e' is silent, and as a result it sounds like 'Brondsbury'?
What happened to '5-Car Train' sign and the 'Overground' roundel (sp?) sign? They pretty much disappeared from both ends of the train after leaving Stratford.
+70humdinger I honestly have no idea. I didn't even notice that they had disappeared until you just pointed it out. I can only assume it's a bug within Train Simulator, as there's no reason for them to disappear like that lol!
+Shawn Bickel Thanks! I can't really say when, I can only say I will do one. Videos like that take a long time to put together, so I will do it at some point in the future :)
Can someone help? I've bought all the required dlc and have done the subscribe thing in the workshop but the buy addons button is lit up and the drive button is faded so i cant play it
I know it's probably a couple of years ago now, but can you give details of the specs you were using to play this, CPU, graphics card, RAM, and so on ?
When will you be doing the Frankfurt U-Bahn, I've waited too long! Also, will you ever drive the BR155, or Gas turbine? You have a ton of routes so I'm assuming you'll have the 'free', 'upgrade' to the game.
+Marshell George (The Growl) That's a good question, and I'm honestly not sure. The train is an absolute pain to drive, especially with the HUD turned off! I do indeed have the BR155 and Gas turbine though have no plans to make videos on them in the near future. :)
+the ship spotter I've already done two videos on the Portsmouth Direct Line. I may consider doing the West Somerset in a DMU in the future. I've already done the West Somerset in the Minehead direction in a Class 33 :)
+PoliceAndTheTube I would always favour a route over a train, and the Class 222 is very similar to the Class 220/221 from Just Trains. Therefore, I would recommend the North London Line over that :)
PTGRail: Regarding the London - Brighton Class 377 and Class 390 Pendolino runs, how do you anticipate the change in speed limit even before you approach the speed board or see it from a distance, while on the run(high speed run)? There are no caution orders provided to you in the program or any kind of warning apparatus in the driver cabin. That fact surprises me.
I think the 375/377 and 387 have an acceleration rate of 0.62 while the 376 and 378 have 0.66 (all measurements about acceleration in 3rd rail power. A train will *always* be more powerful on overhead than 3rd rail).
Very good video as always.

+MrLambo27 Thank you. I was aware of the hill start button but wasn't aware of the keyboard shortcut for it. I will consider using it in the future :)
I bought this route during the Autumn sale. Can't wait to do a timelapse video of it!
I soo desperately wanna see you do Shenfield to Liverpool Street as it's my childhood, I've said this before but seeing those shots at the start made me have flashbacks and really wish you would do it! Videos Great as ever really enjoy watching them!

That's great to hear, any idea when the unit will be available? Great videos though, always helps pass time
Very good video as always. Looks like you were following as you mentioned a slower train in front considering all the yellow aspects you were getting.

And yes, I'm going to try this workshop scenario. Excellent video!
Nicely done, must have taken you ages to prepare for. Your new system seems to be coping well with it, very smooth I noticed.

hi the tunnel after Hampstead heath station is called Hampstead heath tunnel.
A lovely five car train:)
+Jacob O'malley Five cars > Four cars :)
PTGRail Haha
With a lot of standing room, which is good, considering this is a metro style service.
I'm so excited!!!!:D I just ordered a new gpu so I'll finally be able to play all my games, including this, at max settings!!!!:D I currently have to run as lowest settings.
Great video! Must of taken you ages to learn without the HUD!

Great video. Thanks
+the ship spotter Thank you :)
How on earth did you get an enhanced version of the 378? Great video!
They are part of the capitalstar family aswell
+Jacob O'malley I'm aware they are called Capitalstar, but really that's more a subtype than a family. The family of units is the Electrostar :)
Stratford International 😊
Great video!
+Robert Mugabe Thanks :)
Very good video is the next great hope everything well explained.
+Alan Antonio Bre Thanks, glad you enjoyed this video :)
PTGRail No problem. ;)
Great video as always. Shame they did not include any of the other lines such as GOBLIN and East or West London line.
+baseballfan99 Thank you! I agree, I think this add on could have been better if more had been included.
What happened to '5-Car Train' sign and the 'Overground' roundel (sp?) sign? They pretty much disappeared from both ends of the train after leaving Stratford.

Another great video! Also when are you going to make a US signal guide video? Thanks!
+Shawn Bickel Thanks! I can't really say when, I can only say I will do one. Videos like that take a long time to put together, so I will do it at some point in the future :)
Nice sound for the train is mod or nope thanks and do more videos
Can someone help?
I've bought all the required dlc and have done the subscribe thing in the workshop but the buy addons button is lit up and the drive button is faded so i cant play it
No London underground stock? Just use the class 483 (not that it is from another era or anything :P)
+Grandbomb27 Haha, wrong era and wrong type. The Class 483 is tube stock, and I need normal underground stock :p
I know it's probably a couple of years ago now, but can you give details of the specs you were using to play this, CPU, graphics card, RAM, and so on ?
nice vid! btw will you be doing the just trains railjet advanced train?
+anonymous geek Thanks! I will cover it in the future when I have purchased it :)
How to get this game
When will you be doing the Frankfurt U-Bahn, I've waited too long! Also, will you ever drive the BR155, or Gas turbine? You have a ton of routes so I'm assuming you'll have the 'free', 'upgrade' to the game.

It's one of those trains with the weird handle eh. Oh well, guess no U-Bahn anytime soon.
Nicely made and informative as always! Are you going to cover the new Semmeringbahn route?
+Highspeedline01 Thank you! I will indeed make a video on that route when I can afford to buy it :)
+PTGRail testing, you may remember me, you couldn't respond To me I just wanna know if this works now
how do you change the display board on the outside to show were it is going.
+Declan Hurrell You have to do this in the scenario editor. It's difficult to explain in a comment, but you can find the information in the manual :)
ptgrail could you please do a video either on the Portsmouth from Southsea to Woking or West Somerset line with a DMU. thanks. the ship spotter.
+the ship spotter I've already done two videos on the Portsmouth Direct Line. I may consider doing the West Somerset in a DMU in the future. I've already done the West Somerset in the Minehead direction in a Class 33 :)
great thanks. I will look at those.
I love train because they have lot for cotmase eltriss egine
Hey Peter can i ask how do you get the sign on the front of the train where it says 5 car train?
+Dean Knight Hi Dean. I just selected a 5-car train and the sign was already applied :)
Great video! May I just ask, what do you think is better the North London Line or the class 222 advanced on just trains?
+PoliceAndTheTube I would always favour a route over a train, and the Class 222 is very similar to the Class 220/221 from Just Trains. Therefore, I would recommend the North London Line over that :)
+PTGRail Alright I will buy that! Thanks.
are you going to cover any railjet journeys?
+kai Harvey Possibly in the future. I don't currently own the Railjet add on.
+PTGRail okay i look forward to it!
How do you create a custom scenario in ts2016? how do you put it on workshop?
+munkboy15 That's a very long answer which I can't condense down to one comment. I am planning a scenario creation tutorial in the future :)
I have SOOOOO Many questions, Last one of this video, Promise, How'd you get so smooth games? Especially TS? Is it settings?
+PoliceAndTheTube To get smooth running in TS, one has to either lower the graphics settings or upgrade their hardware :)
If there would be a really realistic german train, you would see the speed restrictions in the EBuLa (I am not shitting you, thats the actual name)
+Siemens 407 What is the EBuLa? Other than sounding ominously like the name of a tropical disease lol XD
PTGRail: Regarding the London - Brighton Class 377 and Class 390 Pendolino runs, how do you anticipate the change in speed limit even before you approach the speed board or see it from a distance, while on the run(high speed run)? This is where the driver's experience comes into the game.
like the the high speed 1
26:26 did you saw the S sign
This train is similar to the class 377 in the cab, but not as good or powerful
I think the 375/377 and 387 have an acceleration rate of 0.62 while the 376 and 378 have 0.66 (all measurements about acceleration in 3rd rail power. A train will *always* be more powerful on overhead than 3rd rail).
Can u get this on iPhone
+Billy Johnston Unfortunately not, it's currently only available on PC.
you are gronded for 395 012/395 096
+Vannessa Peachey What do you mean?
fuk ffo nyor big fat bayi sex aw
Could you perhaps try that again, but in English this time? XD
