It's pretty great. I was surprised to find out it was taken from a Miami Vice episode (re-recorded for the purposes of the game, but it's the exact same piece of music)
First Amiga game i played on my own Amiga when my parents gave me the "Screen Gems" pack for Christmas :) When i first set it up, i didn't connect the phono cables to the modulator and didn't have any sound, thought it was faulty :( thankfully i found my mistake and this theme started blasting out. has been a very special piece of music in my heart ever since :D
you don't even know how much I LOVE THIS GAME! I was obsessed with it - the mood, atmosphere and music were just out of this world when I was like 11 and crazy about fantasy! I've actually finished this game without "ten pints" ;)
Such a nostalgic soundtrack for me. I remember first seeing the main menu scene at 01:58 and hearing that music... such an otherworldly, deeply mysterious feeling. The whole game and soundtrack has such a different vibe to it than anything else I've played. Was never able to complete the game (I think it's hands down the hardest platformer I've ever attempted), but it will always stand out as the place I'd most want to visit in a dream. Pysgnosis back then was a level of elite experience so far ahead of its time. So glad it was a part of my childhood.
As if the drums are made from the tanned skin of that beast that you lure under the spike trap. And the flutes are made of branches of these unholy trees. And the xylophone made of the wing bones of that flying thing that keeps the friend prisoner. The music feels so beautifuly tied onto the magical world of the game.
It reminds me of Brad Fiedel's work. Shame it wasn't included on the original game! Love this whole soundtrack as a concept piece. Whittaker's SOTB1 had the unbelievable hooks, but the music for SOTB2 works more for me in synthesis. The late 80s/early 90s video game equivalent of Opera lol
Thank you soooo much for this. You just brought back a tune I´ve been thinking about for decades. I recorded what I think was the menu track on the A-side of a cassette and then recorded the first part of the ingame suite (both tracks on a loop) on the b-side of the same cassette. That was the only cassette I played in my sony walkman while reading the Lord of the Rings for the first time, at age 15. I´m 48 today. Great work dude! 🙌
I bought this game back there in the 90s for about 110DM, which was awfully expencive for a computer game then. And even I´m a very enthuciastic player, this beast2 nearly got me the creeps, cause it´s just to hard to play. Once you reached a riddle an didn´t make it in time (3 or 5 secs or whatt?!?!? YOU MAY RESTART YOUR ENGINE - Holy Moly! Nethertheless Beast rules and was a neverfogotten milestone for amiga-Gaming!!!!

I had the same commodore monitor. Used from 1992 to 2020. Connected either a digital t.v. converter or vcr/ DVD player to it. Gave it to my neighbors before moving. Its probably still working.
Goosebumps all over listening to this again after all those years Sensational Some of the best scores have come from games but this is up there as one of if not the best ever ❤ And that game over track . Oh my 😊
Omg as soon as I hear that opener title after the intro I'm thrown straight back to my childhood. Love it. That game gave away so little so my imagination went nuts. 😂
In addition to the unused title theme that i included in this upload, the UnExoticA release also had music for a mysterious level 3. That music is also not used in the game. I didn't like those tracks at all, so they aren't included.
That unused title theme is really reminiscent of Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." I'm almost wondering if some inspiration was taken from there.
I wonder if anyone tried to do a faithful "remaster" of the music - perhaps the composer himself :-) Not a remake, more like a restoration. Perhaps finding the original samples in 16 bit 44 kHz or higher.

This game and it's sound track is underated compared to the first Beast game but I really like this sound track. I do wish they used the unused theme though as that also sounds amazing.
Tim & Lee Wright did the soundtrack for SOTB2 & 3, which is why they sound similar. SOTB was scored by David Whittaker and has a very different style, more to my liking personally.
This is the first time that I hear the unused title theme. Wooow it sounds so impressive. Where did you get it from? Is there any secret in the game how to unlock this tune?

Same here man. I hope you are ok and healthy after 5 years of this comment.

God damn, the Game Over tune for this game is absolutely phenomenal.
