  • The Mola Mola or Ocean Sunfish is the largest species of bony fish on the planet. They are related to puffer fish but can grow quickly and release millions of eggs. There are two species found in the Galapagos, the Mola mola and Mola ramsayi, the southern sunfish. This was shot at Punta Vicente Roca, on Isabela island where we had an incredible dive with 11 individual sunfish. The water was clear and cold (55f / 12c). They are odd looking fish that propel themselves through the water using their top and bottom fins. To License footage contact Becky@LiquidProductions.com / 610-364-7850 Shot in December 2022

Such an oddly beautiful fish. I hope to dive with them one day too.
