The Parking Assistant finds suitable parking spaces and supports you when parallel parking. We heard you when you told us a common problem you face is overturning your steering wheel, so we developed the Parking Assistant smart car technology to aid our luxury vehicle customers.
Activate the system by pressing the Parking Assistant button, which is located on the center console. The iDrive screen will display instructions on how to utilize the BMW Parking Assistant. To stop the Parking Assistant at any time, simply release the Parking Assistant button.

The problem with this is you signal your intention to park after stopping , the person behind you would have already blocked the parking location making the use case only viable if no car is following you.
I guess they didn't think about that one..
Well just did the test by activating the Park Assistant AND using the direction to park BEFORE the car stopped. Worked perfectly! My car is a 520d G31 from 2019. Fantastic tool 🥂🚀

That parking space you can drive in and turn and park perfectly without even reversing.
eh, you'd end up with a big gap between the car and the kerb or you'd have to drive over the kerb which is a big no no because it damages kerbs over time if everyone does it. id do the manoeuvre even in this case.
I really need this for my driving test. Reverse parking sucks.

Yeah, I would say so. I have never measured it. But, I have used it in parking a lot smaller than that in the video. I have a X3 M40i 2018 with the latest update from 2020. Not sure if it matters

Is it possible to add a 3rd driver profile in order to save memory seatings and other features for that driver?
My screen seems to be different.
It worked once. Then the next time I tried it, it said to stop the car to activate and then nothing happened.

I have a 2023 bmw 530e and it doesn't have the 360 overhead camera view, nor does it have park assist (it has sensors but will not self park). I paid $60,000 for this car and I feel like I got screwed out of some very basic features!
A few top end models have it included as standard but for most it is an option. Parking Assistant does the parking shown in this video, Parking Assistant Plus adds the overhead camera view.
I've been told that for the 2021 model year, the BMW parking assistant will also add dashcam recording to the vehicle. Anybody else know about this?

Will this work for my 2018 BMW f80 dct too?
I doubt it F30's and F80's are using older tech still, you will need a G series for all the new tech

Be aware of wrong guidance! Do NOT remove your foot from the brake pedal, if the camera doesn't detect a kerb by different reasons, you will end up like myself after seeing this video hitting your wheel, or even worse. So keep your foot always on the brake pedal and release it when you think it can do a safe manoeuvre.
Hopefully one Day all BMW's will be so highly automated there will be no need for any human intervention and we can truly make use of BMW's not having to put on the indicators!

New How-to series are now filmed in Germany instead of USA.
The auto park in BMW sucks! The entire process of auto parking is cumbersome and sometimes very inaccurate.. can’t understand why BMW ignores this issue?
Sooner or later we will ALL just be passengers and the BMWs will literally just fly us around from point A to B with no human interaction. LOL
