    They are both great for collision sensor coverage, 2S is soooo good as long as it's not pushed into areas with skinny brown or dead branches......
    I love my 2S, and now have an RC1 controller for it, much better communication with the drone with it, but way way poorer maps compared to the N1 controller using my Ph and google maps.

    Hii, I will stick to my Air2 S for a while, and since I also have the Mavic Air2 ... I have 6 batteries in the fly more combos for both drones to use ! An other thing is prop change ... Air2 S gets a new prop in 10 sec with quick mount. mini drones use screws ...if you then are out in an open field and loose the screws then you are screwed ... no thanks ! The RTH and presicion landing is also very accurate with my Air2 S !

Gah ^^

      While im not a professional, photography is my passion and main reason for getting a drone.. so im struggling with the same thing. Would love the bigger sensor as I like to make large prints, but I think the deciding factor may be my trip to Australia/New Zealand at the end of the year.. the smaller the better for fitting in my camera backpack with the rest of my gear. Plus the under 250 gram weight class seems smarter to avoid any potential regulation issues.
      Edit: Just watched the full video.. honestly the M4P video looks better in every instance to me, and the 48mp photos look at least as good, and better in the center than the A2S. The corner sharpness comparison was the only time I felt the A2S was noticably better, even though it wasnt the best comparison with the zoomed details not on the same subject. I was thinking, with the ability to vertically turn the camera, you could do vertical framed panoramic shots stitched together for higher quality/larger prints.. 🤔

  • @winther5

    At low light it's a clear win for the Air2s - that 1" sensor allows a higher iso whereas the mini's photo quality falls apart at ISO 800. The extra weight of the Air2s allows more stability which enables you to lower the shutterspeed and ISO beyond what the lighter mini can do. I have the mini for travelling and flying in areas with more restrictions, and the Air2s for professional work,

    Nicely done and informative video. I would go with the Air 2s personally but I'm biased after flying one for a couple of years now. Just can't beat the "athletic fly-ability" as one youtuber calls it. It's great workhorse that just gets the job done if DJI doesn't get in the way by locking it down for some dumb reason.

      Thanks! “Athletic fly-ability” is a great way to put it. It really is basically the Mavic 2 Pro in a slightly smaller body. If it had only USB-C charging it would be the perfect travel drone (as I think the Air 3 is a bit too big). Keep rocking it though maybe pick up some new batteries if yours are starting to get higher cycle counts (over 150).

    • @underthedrone2735
      @underthedrone2735 8 місяців тому

      There was a sale not long ago on the batteries ($43) so I picked up one more bringing the number to 5. They've all got less than 40 cycles so I should be good to go for years to come. I make money from time to time with mine so it has paid for itself. I know the Air 3 is a good drone but I really like the 1" sensor's image quality. It's so much better than the Mini 3p I also have. I do hope an Air 3s is on the horizon. Maybe this summer or fall.@@DigitalTechReviewsTips

      @underthedrone2735 8 місяців тому

      BTW; the Air 2/2s batteries (renewed) are still available on Amazon for even less than I paid. There was zero cycles on the one I got and others said there were 2 or 3 on theirs so this is a good time to get more for those like me who plan on flying their Air 2/2s for years to come.@@DigitalTechReviewsTips

    I have the mini 1, loud sucking noise, for 4 years and the air 2s for about a year and a half. Ok (ignoring the camera difference) the point is that the mini is a good starter drone as its small and not to scary. But its a mini and if I put it up 50 meters and look at the controller, I look back up and its gone. The 2s is just a bit bigger and noisier so its a lot easier for me to see. It also has a landing light that you can switch on. I just got the Air 2s into Class C1 for Europe and its a bunch of hoops to jump through. Last year I had it in A2 and had to pass a licence. This year it went to A3 but now it has the C1.

I just feel like the mini 4 pro is more fun and super feature packed. That little circle for repositioning really sold me. • @DigitalTechReviewsTips
      @DigitalTechReviewsTips  7 місяців тому

      Very much in the same boat as you. Currently have pared down my fleet to just the Mini 4 Pro and Mavic 3. If I could’ve only had one drone (M4P or Air 2S) I would’ve probably kept the Air 2S cause the image quality is significantly better, but since I also have the Mavic 3 the Mini 4 Pro’s small size is more helpful.
      And as the newer drone the M4P for sure is more feature packed. Also, supposedly HLG has better image quality than D LOG M but it kinda depends what your shooting style is and what you’re shooting for.

    And a few other comparison questions.
    Propeller change/ battery options/ and the controller options.
    I’m thinking about buying on to take overseas and carrying less.
    USB c charger without a brick is great( what size plug do I need?)

    • @DigitalTechReviewsTips
      @DigitalTechReviewsTips  5 місяців тому

      Ok so to answer your questions:
      - Recorded audio for the drone walk-and-talk bits using the Zoom F2 and synced it in post using the process I describe in the video I have up called “How to record audio for your drone footage” (or something like that)
      - Propellor change is definitely easier with the Air 2S as it uses quick change propellers like the Mavic series drones whereas the Mini 4 Pro uses screws which can easily strip out
      - Not sure what you mean by “battery options”
      - Controller options: check out the drone comparison spreadsheet I maintain which lists all the specs for each DJI drone including which controllers they work with bit.ly/dji-drone-comparison-spreadtsheet
      - I recommend this Anker charger for people cause it offers extra USB-C ports and also a USB type A. It’s a bit pricey but it’s the one charger to rule them all. amzn.to/3QtrwWF

      Yup. It has 48mp mode using a quadbayer sensor array on the OV48C sensor which is useful is some situations (low dynamic range top down shots for example) but the trade off is it’s only 10bit colors (vs 12bit raw for 12mp) and makes the pixels a lot smaller so there is more noise in the image.

    • @DigitalTechReviewsTips
      @DigitalTechReviewsTips  8 місяців тому

      Yes, to the first part. There are a few other DJI drone that are under 250g and also cheaper. Basically any previous model of the Mini series (Mini SE, Mini 2 or Mini 3/3 Pro) is less expensive than the Mini 4 Pro.
      However, while they offer a lot of the similar features and still very good image quality, they obviously won’t give you the same results as the newer model - but still worth looking into.
      I personally think the Mini 2 is a great little drone. You should be able to score one for under $600 with the full kit. If that’s still higher than you were hoping then try looking at either the Mini SE or a used Mini 2/Mini 3.

      Others can chime in as well, but I personally used it a bunch and never had any issues with it. Just make sure you’re getting the DJI RC and not the newer DJI RC2 (the one with antennas) cause it’s not backwards compatible.

    In the resolution comparisons, it seemed to me like the 4 pro was a little brighter and crisper. I own the Air2s and really do like it a lot, but Hmmmmm. I like the idea of having the smaller 4pro, some extra battery time, and maybe the more advanced tracking features. Thanks or a very well done and thorough video. You really filled a void on this one, I think. Marc T.

      @DigitalTechReviewsTips  4 місяці тому +1

      Glad you found the video helpful! One thing I would say is not to be too distracted by the brightness and crispness of the Mini 4 Pro images. That drone does a lot more processing of the JPGs than the Air 2S which is great for if you just want to post directly to social media and not do any editing, but I’ve constantly found the Air 2S DNGs better for editing with more dynamic range and better true sharpness with the 20mp photos.
      The advanced tracking, smaller size, better battery, etc are all great though so for those alone it might be worth checking out.

    The air 2s’ color profile in auto mode is its weak link along with the battery life 😢.. I’m guessing you shared graded logm footage in this video for the air2s.
    My air 2s was all over the place in color reproduction when shooting in auto mode. I’ve been really happy with my air 3 video and haven’t touched my 2s in some time. Maybe I’ll break it out. Esp for its photos too.
    Should also note the mini 4 pro night mode is a game changer for most novice drone pilots.

    • @DigitalTechReviewsTips
      @DigitalTechReviewsTips  8 місяців тому +1

      Actually, all the footage for both of these drones in this video was shot in normal mode and ungraded (except for a few clips that were HLG). I personally haven’t had an issue with the Air 2S and its color - but I will (outside of this video) often shot in HLG mode.
      I think your experience with the Air 2S vs Air 3 is partially the difference between the Sony sensor and Omnivision sensor which the Mini 4 Pro and Air 3 have. Sony sensors are built more for professionals and the whole process is set up to give the user the best possible image from a technical standpoint (though that will often require a bit of work to get it looking like you want). The Omnivision sensor is a smartphone sensor so it was intended to put out images and videos that look pleasing to the eye without any major adjustments. I definitely notice that when I transfer an image straight from the drone for sharing the Mini 4 Pro often even looks better than my Mavic 3 (Sony sensor).

  • @twowheels808

    Mini 4 has a bit more saturated colors and cool temperature color science. The 2S looks more natural color science. Image quality is everything with a drone. Everything else is gimmicks most people won’t use more than a few times until the novelty wears off.

    Advance Air 2s: bigger sensor, 20 mpix photos, much handling wind, easy installation props, 500 meters altitude, 4 positioning lights, bright white light under drone.
    Mini 4pro advance: quieter, vertical photo, omnidirection obstacle sensors.
    Nowadays all dones must me registered so magic 250g not any more benefit, mini 4 pro is restricted to 120 m- it could be challenging especially in mountains. Mini 4pro active track is quite disappointing

    The active track is actually American made which I thought was cool but I disagree the Mini 4 is waaaaaay ahead of the air2s…. I do own both and a Air3 but yes the air2s is outdated tech sorry the Mini wins

    • @underthedrone2735
      @underthedrone2735 8 місяців тому +1

      It's hardly outdated if it still works perfectly fine for doing the job the owner wants it to. The Mini 4p is a damn fine little bird but it isn't in the same class as the Air 2s or even the Air 3. I'm taking a pass on the Air 3 but will take a good look at the Air 3s if it ever comes out with a 1" sensor and 40+ minutes of flight time.

    • @DigitalTechReviewsTips
      @DigitalTechReviewsTips  8 місяців тому

      Wait, is that true about the ActiveTrack? Had no idea. Is that all of the ActiveTrack versions or just the new ActiveTrack 360?
      And I agree that from a tech perspective - sure the Mini 4 Pro has the Air 2S beat. But if you’re using the drones for photography or videography uses, often all you care about is the image quality and on that front the Air 2S still is at least tied with the M4P or even a little better.

    "Upgrade" to Mini 4? Thats a downgrade, dude. "Upgrade" a proper 1 inch flying camera for a 250 gram toy at the same price is ridiculous. How much DJI payed you to say that?

    • @DigitalTechReviewsTips
      @DigitalTechReviewsTips  4 місяці тому +3

      At the current moment I’ve technically paid them at least $3000 to make this video 😂
      And did you even watch the video? My whole point of making it was to push back against the marketing narrative DJI (through all the tech channels they ACTUALLY PAY) pushes that newest is always best and help people who have an Air 2S fight the FOMO and see that it’s still a very good drone.
