Love that solo, respect for Thomas McClary
Love that song
It's amazing that a lead that is fairly simple has so much soulful feeling that you remember it throughout your entire life. Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this lesson! Aloha!!
I've always loved this solo!!! 💜 I remember seeing the Commodore's playing this on Solid Gold.
Awesome lesson! Thankyou
The kids today could learn from this one! 😂
Nicely taught KDA! Thanks!
Man, takes me back! What a great song and solo! Thanks for the lesson!!!
No Way, damn Dean, long story but Ive been thinking of this tone, they just don't play these classics, thanks, I owe you a beer, Aye!
Nice, KDA!
The solo is indeed iconic - a rockin' yet soulful solo amidst an easy listening pop song sure did stand out when it was released, and as heard in your tutorial, still does.
As a beginner guitarist, I've mainly been focused on the basics and staying away from solos, but this one seems easy enough to give it a go. Thanks much for putting the piece on my RADAR and showing us how it's done!
Something kinda interesting, I bought some land once that had a Commodores connection. The land had this big mansion on it at one time but it burned down at some point in the 80s or 90s. The Commodores used to rent out that mansion and stay there some in the 1970s, probably wrote some of their tunes there and you know they had some killer parties at that place.
Ohh this was a great lesson. Thanks KDA!
Just need to comment about info you give as well as great breakdown of songs very good I enjoy all your videos actually made me start to record my playing and post too thank you 🤘🏻🎸
Playing the song is the ez part, achieving a great tone is the hard part.. No matter the song
What did you use to get Tom mcclary's tone?
Is there fuzz involved or anything cuz it's got just a great sound you almost duplicated it right on the money?
Fuzz pedal. Yep
