Thank you for the video on crimpet, purchesed the crimpit now back in flavour with the old gal lol. Being a Yorkshire man tight & of 71yr old plus eye sight not as good now I find a tip I use Lidl cheapest loaf 36p, I turn the black box upside down & cutting round you get a perfect fit of slice. really enjoyed.
I only found You yesterday going on about the air fryer and You had me. I love You! I can see this crimp thingy with Nutella, applesauce with cinnamon and rum raisins. Leftover roast, oh the opportunities!
Just found you two and love you already. We use an air fryer most of the time now and also an Instantpot which is also brilliant for making stuff like pulled pork. So much quicker. Our oven ad hob hardly get used. Have you considered reviewing a bread maker. Another of our must have gadgets in our kitchen. Strong bread flour is 69p in Lidl. 3 hours in a bread machine and beautiful bread without the shop price of a load with all the rubbish additives.
We watched this video of the crimpit and decided to buy a couple of them. We love them, they are a great bit of kit to have in the kitchen. Thanks for your recommendation 😊 😀 👍 Cheers
When we have the grand kids for sleep over. for breakfast they want Papa's BLT pillows. Slims, lettuce, tomato and bacon. Always go down a treat. thanks for you showing me these.
Just discovered your channel and am now addicted! Have already used some of your tips, the handles made of foil for getting the dishes out of the fryer, thanks for that one! Will now buy a crimpet! Love your banter too, keep it coming!😅
I got my crimpet back in June and a week later invested in the ninja air fryer! I love em.. use it regularly.. so handy for a light lunch and endless options to fill em with :)
I have one of these. In the air fryer use the thins the other way around. Put the already toasted side inside and butter the outside. Absolutely fantastic.
Martin and Sharon, you have me in stitches every time i watch your videos. You two are wonderful entertainers😂😂. I am so glad i found you my day is so much fuller with you both in it❤. You play off each other so well. Keep them coming and glad to have you both back😊
Don't throw the crusts from the bread ones away. Curl them up like pin wheels, hold them in place with a cocktail stick. Sprinkle with cinnamon and fry in a little butter. Fora low fat sugar free teat
After watching your video I decided to ask someone to get me one for my birthday. I used it tonight for the first time. I used bread but it was thick sliced so it was quite difficult to crimp but I managed it in the end. Before putting in the air fryer I brushed them with melted butter and they came out nice an crispy, I recommend the butter treatment. I've now bought some white and brown thins to do the taste test and will give my results later.
Bought one and will be sending it back, they should of made it bigger as even when you use with the thins it wastes the bread and like you said a waste of time in the toaster, you guys are quality 😊
At least 50 years ago I used to make filled sandwiches and toast them in a saucer shaped receptical (double sided) it clamped like a clam shell and toasted on a gas ring. It looked like a UFfO This looks like a modern version with electricity. The name of the gadget is forgotten in annuls of time
If you go to Google IMAGES and type in: 'Vintage round, sandwich toaster 1950's' - Many pictures come up of stove top 'toasties' gadgets. Various brands, but all as you describe, but with long handles... 'Nutbrown' Sandwich Toaster (Made in England), 'Toas-Tite' Camp Toaster (USA), 'Aerolatte Diablo', 'Nevco' Toaster, 'Jem' Toaster.... Plus French, German and similar models. It appears that the 'Nutbrown' (English make) was very popular in the 1950's.
I'm not surprised at the plain bread producing better results. Something I used to do 30 years ago when I lived in a bed-sit and had noting but a kettle and Breville sandwich toaster was to take the cheapest supermarket white sliced, cut the crusts off and roll it as thin as poss with a rolling pin (or empty wine bottle more usually!). Butter the resultant wafer-thin bread on both sides, sit the bottoms in the grill so they sagged and made a shell to fill with whatever. The result was a crispy pastry parcel thingy. Some brand, (Princes?) did Mussels Provençal in a jar which was my favourite filling. Wicked! Would love to try that again with this Crimpit and your air fryer.
I use good quality white bread (not sourdough or seeded) and spread block butter both sides (not margarine or pseudo butter) then sandwich with filling of choice (I like cheddar and blueberry jam or cheese and caramelized onion) then fry in frying pan until golden on both sides, about 5-7 minutes altogether. The butter adds a crispness and extra flavour and its rare for the filling to spill out. I don't roll out the bread, just leave it at it"s normal thickness. Favourite breads to use are Jackson's white bloomer bread or Black Sheep sliced tiger loaf. Yummy 😋
Love your videos my friend, I have Air fryer for the last couple of years absolutely brilliant started off on a small cheap one now I’m intending to buy an expensive one I will never use my traditional oven again thanks for the videos carry on excellent❤
you could use ready rolled pastry to make a pasty , put the crimp it on the pastry ,.cut around the square with a knife then fill it and egg wash the outside and cook as normal
I like this product, definitely going to get one. When you mentioned it's little bit like a pasty it got me thinking... Could you use pastry in the crimpit and make pasties/bakes? Maybe a future video? Love your channel!
I've made pies with mine using ready made pastry and they've turned out great. Just remember to dust them with flour before you put them in the crimpet as they can stick.
Hi Guys great vids brought this item the other day thinking it will be great when I get home late from work tried it last night 200 / 5 min turned it over half way and it melted . . . . so you win some and you lose some keep up the good work . . . . Cheers
Hi, I find the best way to use the Crimpet is to make it how you want filling wise, microwave first, then put under the grill until browned off, works every time. Great filled with chocolate spread and banana. When I use bread from a loaf, I roll them thinner with a rolling pin then proceed as before. Please take care and stay safe.
I'm in Canada and never heard of The Crimpit. It's not available here yet. I'll be looking out for it though. The bread one looks delicious. Thanks for sharing.
I got a crimpit two weeks ago and then an air fryer a couple of days later…… I made cheese and tomato toasties in the air fryer and they were lovely….. I use thins which fit great!
I got one of these. If you think that's good, you need a Morphy Richards Mico Toastie Maker. Those make the most amazing toasties in the microwave 2 minutes each side.
Good video baby! Could save the bread offcuts for crumb toppings in airfryer. Try slicing spuds, put around the edge of plate, cover with wrap, cook 5-7 min in microwave, or until cooked. Put mince and cooked pasta (cook in micro) in casserole, top with spuds, sprinkle with pasata, then cheese, crisps up in airfryer. Kids love it!
I saw a video on tiktok where they used hot dog rolls, removed some of the bread inside and filled them with beans and topped it off with cheese then in the air fryer. Looked delicious
We just tried ours, made the mistake of buttering the bread before crimping 🙈 Thins worked great but i like the bread version, so crunchy, im going to try it with a Danish loaf, mighr be less waste . ❤
I have just subscribed from NZ. I have just bought an air fryer and I’m so pleased I did because I found your channel. You are both great at what you do. Keep it up. Great entertainment 😊😅😅
I'm busy eating smooth peanut butter out of jar..mmmm! 😚 But I must say my mouth was drooling over the corned beef and onion....😛 Time to get one of those machines.👍🏴
Well that gave me a good laugh, especially when you forgot which sandwich was which. Absolutely loving everything you do. I just bought a sandwich toaster but I'm liking the look of that Crimpet! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing lovely bit of kit thank you for all the great videos through the years too my kids an I absolutely love watching use from restorations to school desserts use do it all everything we all like and love thank you for being absolute gems on you tube ❤
I'm thumbing it in round the edges!! Proper coffee short moment!!😂😂 Love u 2 been trying to binge watch back vids😁 Came for one air fryer recipe n now I'm hooked, keep up the good work and being your natural selves is so refreshing Thanks for the laughs and info!!😂👍👍
We used to have a sandwich maker with deep pockets and I always used bread. I would put an egg and a bit of bacon in the pocket ... or tinned apple slices. I saw someone in a sandwich shop cook a toasted sandwich and then put butter on the cooked surface which works too.
I just tried the Crimpet using brioche and apple pie filling, brushed the outside with butter and on Max Crisp in the Ninja dual. it was really nice. X
That was a good laugh what was said need to tease it in / make sure you push it all in / you want it all moist / push it in around the corners, if i was blind and heard that i would know what you were talking about you had a Crimpit 🤣
so glad you both liked it Sarah & Garry (SUFFOLK UK)
Good fun Garry.

Corn beef onion and mashed potato is nice

Yessss the air fryer gangsters. I love crimpets, just tried them in the air fryer, amazing👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Just discovered your channel and am now addicted! Have already used some of your tips, the handles made of foil for getting the dishes out of the fryer, thanks for that one! Will now buy a crimpet! Love your banter too, keep it coming!😅

You are freaking HILARIOUS! Sharon has to keep up with your craziness but in a good way! Buying this now!
I got my crimpet back in June and a week later invested in the ninja air fryer! I love em.. use it regularly.. so handy for a light lunch and endless options to fill em with :)
Could try using the ready made pastry to make little pastys or sausage rolls
I have one of these. In the air fryer use the thins the other way around. Put the already toasted side inside and butter the outside. Absolutely fantastic.
Great tip!
I'm going to try them this way
Lovely simple easy to use.May get a crimpit. All the best to you all.

Or, let them dry out and use as croutons in soup, or 'soldiers' to dip in soup.
TRIVIT
Hmm look delicious, great video Sharon and Martin.🙏🙏😃😃
I just got the Crimpit, but they don’t fit in my toaster, so I’m going to try this in my brand new Corsori. So glad to have found your channel 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Love watching you because you are giving an honest opinion.
I got a crimpet for Christmas and made a small bread pudding in the airfryer with 3 offcuts and one extra slice all chopped up, it was great!
That looks so much better than the sandwich toaster ones spot on Martin and Sharon 👍👍👍👍
I discovered you 2 days ago! Bloody love you guys. 💟Definitely going to get a Crimpit. Thanks for the video 👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Brilliant
Such fun
Fabulous music in background playing
Such a warm and friendly channel
Bless you all
Many thanks

Have added this to my CRIMPiT playlist (trying to compile a collection of all the CRIMPiT vids on here). This vid was good craic 👌
I have been using ready rolled pastry and mincemeat in mine to make pies it is heading for Xmas after all.Next I'm thinking of home made mini pasties
Nice one.
Bought one and will be sending it back, they should of made it bigger as even when you use with the thins it wastes the bread and like you said a waste of time in the toaster, you guys are quality 😊
Yummy guys.Thanx I ordered myself a Crimpit from ebay😉😁
Great video folks. Just got a Crimpit
At least 50 years ago I used to make filled sandwiches and toast them in a saucer shaped receptical (double sided) it clamped like a clam shell and toasted on a gas ring. It looked like a UFfO This looks like a modern version with electricity. The name of the gadget is forgotten in annuls of time
I remember those too!
@@sallysmith6543 And me. We used to put eggs in it to make toasted egg sandwiches.🙂
I know the device you're talking about! They were good!
@@sallysmith6543 Rd I remember my nan buying one over 40 yrs ago ! I think it was from the ideal home exhibition , lovely cheese toasties 😋

what you could do with the square bits is do what i do with nan breads is wipe them lightly with water it keeps them moist
I'm not surprised at the plain bread producing better results. Try using that one cal spray stuff - fry light 1CAL golden sunflower oil. Works great for making fried bread in the air fryer as well.
Yes, butter it like normal sandwhich toaster and it will be perfect. I think we all should get one for snacks/ lunch. 👍
lol delicious thank you for sharing watching from South Africa
I've got one they're great they also make a large one that you can use wraps in or use pastry to make pasties
Great little tool, love a toasted sandwich, peanut butter and jam, never heard of that one before, may be brave enough to try, great video guys, 👍🏻❤
Peanut butter and jam is ace!
The classic American peanut butter & jelly or PB & J🤣
Nice demo, Martin and Sharon.
Could use the Crimpit with pastry as well. Can create a Gregg's bake.
Fabulous Congratulations on 10.7k subscribers yay thrilled for you 😊☀️
Thank you so much!!
Love your videos my friend, I have Air fryer for the last couple of years absolutely brilliant started off on a small cheap one now I’m intending to buy an expensive one I will never use my traditional oven again thanks for the videos carry on excellent❤
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video.
you could use ready rolled pastry to make a pasty , put the crimp it on the pastry ,.cut around the square with a knife then fill it and egg wash the outside and cook as normal
This is what I would do 👍
Brilliant, you’ve made me join the Crimpit Club.☺️
The spare bits of bread you could save and freeze, to pop into a winter soup. So the cheap bread version is better all round.
“Thumbing it in”? “Nice portion” “nice and moist” jeeeeeeze
Look lovely but agree would coat outside with butter of the thins better as you say with bread xx
I like this product, definitely going to get one. When you mentioned it's little bit like a pasty it got me thinking... Could you use pastry in the crimpit and make pasties/bakes? Maybe a future video?
