If your corp doesn’t use caps I’m sure it feels like they aren’t worth it. But if you deploy or get to engage using caps, it’s fantastic. Using a cap or two as a suitcase for deployments is a huge quality of life improvement on its own. Defending caps from sub cap fleets, or escalating those fights are some of the best and most memorable Eve experiences I’ve had.

Does anyone take members in Eve as unofficial members, who are not being blown up.. for pvp etc.. ?
i live in c1,and three c3... bercause my few friends have created a base in wormhole space... but they have so many acccounts and so high SP.... they rarely even play the game.. just do Pi, login, to rat 30 sites... or manufacture T4 factory assembly lines, produce stuff, just idling on 100+ bil and not actually playing the game.... ive played on/off since 2008 and only 40m SP cuz of that... because Eve is really booring if u dont actually what the game was meant for , PvP ...
or does anyone have a good advice for a good solo pvp ship... wich can actually do something in low sec... and not get blown up in matter of seconds....
I remember training skills for Curse, is that still a good pvp ship for solo... ? a lot of changed in Eve... so many new skills and ships etc.... i tyhink i last time played like in 2013 for a month.. and before that like in 2009 or 2010...

One way to make capitols more useful and interesting, is to make it possible to staff big ships with more players/capsuleers, for example:
    - extra pilot to increase speed/maneuverability
    - extra wing commander to increase fighter damage
    - extra engineers to increase repair speed
    - extra mechanics to increase rate of fire/reload speed
    - extra shield/armor engineers to mitigate incoming damage
... and so on, I'm sure there are better more/examples.
Maybe it would even help with time dilation in big fights with having fewer ships on grid ... or it would have the opposite effect.
I realize this would include creating some kind of "mini game" to keep this staff occupied, but with so many big ships in the game it could probably start at cruiser level with 1 extra crew slot and scale up to 10+ for a titan. I think it would make the game more interesting and dynamic, while also giving it a unique feature.
A big issue would be how to transition from today's one pilot=one ship without ruining the ship building economy =P

I own around 100 or so capitals, from Titans, to Freighters. I utilize most of them every day/week. They make everything in NS 100x easier. This includes logistics, mining, and ratting. In my opinion this is the true endgame because without them you could not do anything in NS without them.

There should be more PvE content for caps. These new KRABS are a good start, but it needs even more. More payout for Cap-PvE, then more people would do it. And if there are more caps krabbing in space, then more PvP drops would follow, which leads to good fights and content.

    • @taiphoz3530

They had a perfect ratting progression and they shit all over it, it used to go vni > ishtar > Battleship > Marauder > Carrier > Super > titan, it made sense, each ship along the path made a bit mroe isk than the one before, and each one along had you putting more and more isk at risk with more expensive ships out in space.
CCP fucked up when they nerfed the vni, the fucked up further when they nerfed carriers and drone agro, and continue to fuck up with each successive patch, I really dont have much hope for fanfest, and am seriously considering selling my capitals and just having fun with subcaps.

  • @stefanwilhelm3523

I agree with you. In my opinion CCP should add something similar to Incursions which can only be done by Capitals/Supercapitals. Maybe Structures with a lot of damage and very good applikation, that ist able to wipe out every Subcap.
Edit: They should make it worth spending ISK on Capitals/Supercapitals with this method, so very high bounties/extremely rare drops would be good for this activity.

for example: add most powerful gun slots, rig slots(faster producing things or something else) or upgrade things that boost some economy rates ...taxes...boost % etc (so that you can only obtain those things for stations from missions only for capital ships) and players can defend their stations while sitting in station. to turn guns on in station there will be timer count down so customer players in that station will have time to leave station before its too late and warned that station guns will turn ON in 3-10 minutes.

Launch the marauders! Great idea! And what will they immediately do? They will Bastian. The Dreds will say, thank you, and instantly blow them up.
Mr. We don't need no capitals, corp just lost all their marauders and he is not screaming on discord and mumble, were are all our members we need our battleships!

i concur with you about capital ships now. not quite as old as you are (in game) but i have seen the changes from start to finish. capital ships cannot defend themselves in any way against sub caps. in r/l, if you challenge a capital ship you better bet they can and will defend themselves. but according to cccp, caps are to be used in fleet ops, never alone so...there is THAT explanation. combined the role changes with construction changes and you see why they're so expensive today. granted cccp did walk back on the materials needed a bit, but only just. a ton of new items are required for capital ship production and not any of them makes the ship bigger, better, faster or have more dps. thusly i named these items "buttplugs" as they have no practical reason for being there.....just to be there and spin. to add insult to injury, now any capital parts requires 6 gases to make. so in short, you need materials from all four corners of eve just to make 1 ship...not worth it to me. i have about 10 or a little more capital ships and now i mainly use them as suitcases for deployments. sad ending for a once great shiptype i gotta say.

If you live in a nul-bloc and you have to go on deployment with 5 doctrines. And you want to do the trip once. You'd better have a capital or you're going back and forth with sub-caps and usually there's camps along the way and it's a pain. So convenience factor for deployments insane. Couldn't go on a deployment without at least 3 capitals as you want to bring your BS, Command ships, and other things. And some small gang pvp ships. And you need 3 of them.

THat is my problem with eve. I came back after couple of years of pause, i go to my idustrial capital, and bam some things are changed, in worse. I am not a pvp person, i play shooters for that, and i play eve for the pve and industrial aspects content, because is gorgeous and fantastic. My goal was to get a big ass capital and have no worries. There is no such thing now, there is no point in training for them, there is no end goal game. Not to mention that eve economy is fked up and the inflation is 100% since i left, so everything is double in price, good for my assets that i get double the value but bad because i have to pay double to get anything. And, they increased the price of subscription to, when any normal company would actually make as cheap as possible for people to play their game so it can increase the player base, plus mining is fked in eve right now, and mining was the base of eve economy ffs. This game has gone down so much. I know how to make isk easy and fast i have billions, is not a problem for me, but any new player will rage quit after he will lose his first 50 mil ship for witch the poor guy worked a week or more to mine in a venture some crappy worthless veldspar. Is sad but eve devs do not think at all at new players and they make it harder eve for returning veterans to play their game.

If you’ve ever tried to move a shit load of stuff, titans make it much easier with jump portals for freighters and of course fleets, it excessive but a titan can enhance a corp majorly, you can move 13 jump freighter worth of stuff for the same price of a titan with 5 standard freighters for 15bil plus titan, of course the jump range wont be as far as a jf, you can jump back and forth in a jf but who wants to be doing that when you can get tje job done faster and get back to making isk sooner, this mostly applies to nullsec production and being close to your alliance staging/market
You have alts in caps, mains in subcaps, cause it is true caps are slow but you dont need to pay that much attention to the cap pilot, melt ships with the haw dread and pew pew in the sub cap
Plus buying caps just to keep the hull is also an investment in game, my titan was bought fully fitted for 65 bil in 2019 now super carriers are that much, cap hulls have gone up in price by 3x since then
For new players looking at getting into a titan, make sure your alliance or corp has the resources to keep it safe, you do not want to safety asset one of these but dont let this video hold you back to owning supers or caps

    • @Car_Mo

They (CCP) might have had issues with the carrier vs. sub cap pilots requirement balance. It's a weird balance when one side of a fight can be 2 pilots in a carrier each and the other must be 20, 30 or more pilots to barely kill said carriers. To get the upper hand, the 2 carrier pilots just need one more friend and they own the grid. For a sub cap fleet to get ahead, they would have to bring 10-20 friends. I know a fight almost never looks that simple, sub caps could be marauders or frigates and carriers could be normal or super carriers ... but I'm just trying to visualize a point.
I'm also not saying nerfs are good or bad, but there might be a reason for them from a CCP perspective. EVE is all fun and awesome until YOU are the one being outnumbered.

I've been saying for a few years now that CCP should create more systems; null sec, wormhole, all of it and at least do T2 and 3 versions of the caps that could be mobile bases. All the newer games have far more content just on the side of space to play in alone. If New Eden had the new spaces, it would (I feel) create the outcomes that CCP hoped it would have with the ore shortage. If you look at the real world, when there's a shortage the banks close their doors and everything stops. That's a recession. But how would the big alliances handle a million more systems and ships that could anchor and unanchor? If you had a T3 Rorqual that could refine, manufacture, and carry a moon drill and the space to play in, what would you do? If you had... a chimera (historically not that great) that could anchor and have the features of a fortizar and a market? If you had a Leviathan with the capabilities of a keepstar? Would you go hunting a T3 rorq? Would you try to fill up a station's worth of ore and try to unload it in a station like the mining outposts in Outer Ring? How many players would come back if they didn't have to grind for a big alliance and solo play like you do in null, or if there were twice as many wormhole spaces or there were as many triglavian spaces that players had access to like wormholes?

It was always "go big or go home." Now there are games like Elite Dangerous with far more systems for players to express themselves in-game. The alliances have become stagnant. The borders are more or less well defined and everyone has become comfortable. They tried the needle jack to get players into null and so forth. It didn't do anything. The game is defined by the biggest players in the game. It's no different than a Petrie dish. Once the food supply is gone, it dies off. Open world mmos are defined by their space. Make the dish bigger and put a lot of food on it.

The game is coming along but has a high barrier of entry and nothing fundamentally different than what eve has done for decades. Of course other than the POV. Eve is well positioned to surge in popularity if they play their cards right and continue to push content that expands player autonomy and interaction. The sandbox nature of eve is so sick!

Industrial capitals are obviously a diffrent story.

The gameplay always ebbs and flows to ensure players dont all rush to caps to feel brave and sadly capable of playing, eve is diverse and has a multitude of gameplay functionailty.. some of the best gameplay ive ever experienced was not in caps, rather small to mid range fleet coops in mid cheapish hulls and fits, many great times in omens and stabber fleets..with lots of spares fitted ready to clone into and get back in the fight after only a few hours of ratting instead of weeks of ratting for one ship that just idles for hours on end to get blitzed in 5 mins.. dont get me wrong caps are great but the alternative is awesome..

Honestly Marauders and Capitals and most faction ships are not worth it. And honestly im thinking about using some skill extractors and take away SP from marauder and put it in to something that is F-ing useful and not just a gank magnet. I mean you slave away for days to get 1.5mill and lose it in second becuse ganking is so fun for 1 party of players. Honestly it make the shit pointless and just outright a hassle more than anything. Sure if you join goons or test or any of the big block by all means Marauders is great to have becuse you know you will have a 50+ man fleet coming to save your ass.
To me marauders and capitals are just over expensive toys that has no good use, easy to lose in matter of seconds or minutes and all they do is add a bit more dps. Like take Marauders as an example. Like people will do everything just to gank you for luls becuse the ship is expensive. Also takes a damn long time to train in to. Same with capitals train long to get in to can only be used in war becuse every one will move heaven and earth to kill you. I don´t mind pvp but when 20-40 people just hunt you down becuse you are flying a marauder then you don´t take the risk becuse doing level 4 or null ratting is not worth taking the risk becuse the reward is ass. This is why I never bothered to train in to T2 mining ships becuse it´s not worth spending the extra skill time and the extra isk just for people to gank you for luls. Im not playing eve so others cam have fun at my expense. I love doing pvp in eve but ganking that just being an asshole just becuse being an asshole is fun for some.
And I also want to add when it comes to Marauders the insurance is fuck stupid why do we even have the fucking mechanic hey have a 1.5bill ship and you get 90-110mill back. At least give back half it´s worth or just don´t have the mechanic. I mean losing a Marauder and get 90mill back is just insulting.
I fully believe that if your have a mechanic in a game and it´s just a not worth it or a pain or a hassle just remove the shit no need to have it in game at all.
