Just want to say THANK YOU! I was having such a hard time understanding how to get the sales percent and then wondering why it still wasn't working. I had to find the weighted contribution margin. My textbook has too much Jargon. This video was such a life saver. I fully appreciate your explanations! Now I know step by step how to find the sales mix and weighted contribution margin. Also highly thank you for showing how to find by units and sales dollars.
I thought when you calculate the sales mix we are supposed to be concerned with the revenue/amount not the unit sold. Item A 500*2450=1225000 Item B 600*1050= 630000 The total is 1855000 I think you get the idea, but I am not sure which way is right.
You can use sales dollars to determine the sales mix as well. You take the sales (in dollars) for a product/item and divide by total company sales (in dollars) to determine the percentage of sales for that particular product/item.

You can do it either way and you should get the same answer.
What if units sold is not given to you?
