Increasingly, the UK is not a good place to live. The cost of living crisis, corrupt government and opposition, burgeoning authoritarianism, I could go on and on. One of the few good things that if we have is the ability to send our electronic repairs to Sorin. Your integrity, honesty and kindness towards those that need your help is off the scale. Thank you Sorin for restoring my faith and being someone I can get help from if and when I need it.
I was having a nice day until you reminded me about life in the UK. 🤣
and worst of all: beans on toast
But you can't deny the GBP is pretty strong.
Said out of the perspective of a third-world country.
Of course there are elements that are advantageous but increasingly we are suffering ridiculous price increases, official inflation rate is 10% but in the real world is much higher. Younger people, even with a decent job are unable to buy their own home. Having said all this, I do appreciate that some people are far less fortunate than us. Romania's loss but we have Sorin, who has already repaired my friends smart phone at a very reasonable and affordable price. @@madcat4563
Beans on toast are indeed a bit dodgy!@@sketchiefello9002
Very good lesson, you still got his data back also, loads of music i bet, excellent work Sorin! Thanks
Thank you too!
Sorin is the father of electronic repair school in youtube👍👍👍
if you upload a repair video. you'll make him a grandfather
Yeah!!!
Hello Sorin, as always excellent work. Don't stop showing and sharing your knowledge that many of us always try to learn from. Thank you as always, greetings from Spain - Granada
Hi Sorin, please give us all an update sometime on your RPM graph. I have removed AdBlock and been watching adverts all the way through on yours and others channels, as I'm sure many others will have been doing too, it would be nice to know that you are seeing some benefit. A bit like a game, if we the content watchers can see the graph go up for you it will positively reinforce our behaviour to make the graph keep rising (I hope). I don't know about anyone else, but I could sense a real positivity about you on this video, long may it continue ;-)
Same here! I hope my little contribution will help the channel.
@@justinspiredfallout Here too. 2 workshop PCs format and reinstall Windows. There will be no ad blocker. Greetings from Mexico.
I pay for YT premium. No forced adds here. No adblocker 😅
I use a stand with 2 big fans blowing air on the bottom of the laptop. So far my rtx3050 laptop is still working after 1 year.
And also good morning from Ghana
Keep up the great work and also teaching us
Thank you, I will
Always learning new ideas from every video 🎉❤
Grate work i appreciate.
Excellent repair Very good lesson👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent repair. I know this is a stupid question but, how come the mosfets started to bubble up while you soldering them back on with hot air? Obviously hot air, but I just have never seen. Is this common?
It's the flux paste. It liquifies and starts boiling at a high enough temperature. Perfectly normal.
Hello Sorin, that is not a GPU core problem, its highly a vram problem, you can try using nvidia mods 455 for this 30 series card pinpoint the faulty vram, reflow if pads broken or replace if chip is dead. The power of community..... lets fix this acer.... sometime error 43 is triggered by a bad gpu bios
Sometimes , but this is unfixable 100% . All of the vram is dead.
i had a similar issue with my laptop, but luckily it had a GPU board that was separate from the motherboard, and allowed for easy replacement.
Mxm GPU I believe? Sadly they don't use that anymore
Please dont spoil the ending of the video with the title!😄
I wish these educational videos popped up before i bought this piece of s. laptop it shorted itself after a year.
I've got a dejavu from about 10hours ago
I think the costumer knew the ,,romanian tradition'' with the coffee. :))))
HaaHaaa ... is called 'tip' :D
Mosphire you replace 1st was burned during the soldering you can easily watch it 😜
love From Bangladesh
In Australia, the expensive laptop is still covered by warranty if it fails one week past manufacturer's claimed warranty end. Acer cannot wiggle out of replacing the board in a case like this one, because it is reasonable to expect that a premium item will last beyond a set time. For such a laptop the consumer would have a case for repair even at 5 years. Not sure about Acer, but Lenovo, Dell, and maybe others re-manufacture such boards for warranty replacement purposes, so the cost to them is virtually zero. It's probably a wise investment for owners of such expensive laptops to take an extended service agreement for small money in a country which doesn't protect consumers very well.
Have you disabled your AdBlock?
Why don't they use some sort of protection before or after these mosfets? Is it because they don't care?
What is the reason of short circuit of mosfet? High temp or any other?
Pretty cool sorin
Nice one
I've got on capacitor 0.1 amp. Is this mean it's shorted? This one close to the Charging port.
Free Coffee..nice..
👍👍👍
hello sir, i have same problem after short and repair error 43, i choose remove one inductor because after replacing one mosfet and driver mosfet gpu made high side mosfet shorted again
Sorin, do,you still use CH 341 programmer for Bios?
Is there a way to prevent this Sorin?
Could someone offer a quick explanation on how he knew it was most likely a mosfet on the CPU or GPU based on the low resistance on the current resistor. It would really be appreciated as I'm trying to learn.
On modern laptops both GPU and CPU naturally have a low resistance. CPU resistance is typically around 2 - 10 ohm but GPU is very low from 0.2 - 2ohm. GPU vram from 50 - 150ohm. Mosfets separate CPU and GPU from the main power rail. If you look at the main power rail and it measures resistance within the typical values of CPU or GPU then most likely one of the mosfets went bad and connected CPU or GPU directly with the main power rail which is obviously very very bad.
@@karolkrasinski8947 thank you that really helps
I think your ads are back. I saw lots of them. It's strange that the GPU is still detected. I would expect it to just disappear.
İt is looks because gpu is still good but vram is bad
hello have problem acer nitro 5 not turn on 19 volt in consator but no 5v volt or 3v in keyboard
Hello i have dell Inspiron n5030 it was shutting down randomly while using but was powering on then it stopped charging even with charger plugged in but was working fine later on it shut down ehile using and never came back on again. what could have caused that problem
I have a laptop with a GPU problem. One day, when I was playing a video game, a warning window appeared saying 'GPU is outdated, please update your driver'. Then, a BSOD appeared. After the laptop restarted, my GPU was missing from the device manager. When I forced a shutdown by pressing the power button, my GPU appeared again. However, when I play a game, it bluescreens again. What the problem with the gpu?
How did he know the CPU or GPU might be dead based on 8ohms on the current resistor?
Experience?
@@Dohcom1 Experience is quite an obvious answer. I mean how does a low resistance on the current resistor correlate to a dead CPU or GPU. I was looking for an explanation
@@brainoverload6288 i am still learning myself, we will just have to keep watching and practising i think,
It's due to the fact that GPU and CPU have low resistance... Normally if one of these get burnt their resistance increases... And as of Sorin finding out which one's bad is through experience... In my experience too as a tech it's also a symptom of a faulty chip or mosfet...
@@cjdeleon9146I think that is getting to be a common fault, A laptop cooler is vital on a gaming laptop especially but does extend the life of most laptops also...
I don't think you can replace different gpu on this one unless you have working bios
what thermal you use
Can I ask you Sorin where are you from?
Thank you.
❤❤❤
Please sir what is the name of your multimeter
Uni-T UT8802E
Here we had a nice Acer Laptop
... i wonder how an ugly laptop looks like, really! :)))))))))))
Am dezactivat adblockeru dar tot nu vad reclamele, sunt dezamagit.
You can reflow the memory.
Well this really sucks... 1 month AFTER warranty and then this?! We all know what these kind of laptop do cost so I feel so bad for the owner.
Well, I still think for a 3060 its still worth to try to replace the glowing vram chips. The customer will take the expenses probably.
The probability of GPU/memory controller being damaged is high, but I also think he should have run Mats to see if he gets errors on all memory banks, or just one or two. It would be a good confirmation I think .
İt is sucks that mosfets taking out gpu and vram with itself ,totally a disaster.
Hi. Everyone. Can you show me about cpu and gpu ohm Dead. I want to know this. I want to know chipset cpu gpu ohm. Thank for help me
You mean we can’t replace the GPU anymore
👍👍👌👌
I'm glad that you were not a police officer because this is considered as a bribe 🤣🤣🤣 I'm joking 😆 looks so delicous coffee though
Great repair skills but im dissapointed about the reliability of these machines. Having to service an expensive laptop after a month of usage makes me think that the technology isnt there yet, or maybe theyre using poor quality parts. Its not even about planned obsolescence anymore..
It's not "a month of usage". It's a month after the laptop's warranty expired. Assuming Acer, it's one-year warranty on hardware.
my bad then, but it's still an awfully short amount of time if you ask me@@yeahright9014
How to send you my laptop im from india
sir you have used old multimeter 😿 i need multimeter but no money can you give me multimeter 🙋♂️
