Hello everyone, my name is Alexey, I live in Russia in the city of Yekaterinburg. My four-legged friend's name is Pyosel. To make my dog’s name clearer to you, in English it sounds something like “Doggie”
Today I came to the forest to see the condition of my dugout. It's cloudy and raining outside. It snowed a few days ago. Spring this season is not ordinary.
When I opened the doors of the dugout, I was surprised and a little upset. There is a lot of water inside. Most likely this happened due to the fact that there was a lot of snow this season, and the second reason for this was that I did not clear the snow from the dugout, as was the case last year. The snow on the roof melted and water flowed inside.
I took a shovel to try to open the door and measure the depth of the water. I can't even get closer to the doors and see what's going on inside the room. I'll be back here tomorrow with all the necessary equipment.
A few days later I came to the dugout again, but without the dog. I have a lot of things with me, so I decided that I would be alone. I took with me a drain pump for dirty water, a hose and a battery.
I again tried to get inside the dugout, but I didn’t succeed. It seems to me that something inside is holding the door and preventing me from opening the door. After the pump pumped out a certain amount of water from the dugout, I tried to go inside again, I think I understood what was going on. The floor boards have risen up and are preventing the door from being opened. Using a shovel, I pressed on these boards and was able to go inside the dugout.
It's a mess inside, everything is floating and it's very cold. My feet are cold, the water is also very cold.
In winter, someone came to my dugout and left a soft toy as a gift, as well as cookies on top so that the rodents would not eat them. I have to go outside to stay warm and stay warm. It's good that I have hot tea.
I plan to light a fire and cook some food while the pump pumps out the water. Remember, I made an oven underground, today I will cook in this oven. Unfortunately, when I opened the underground oven, I saw that there was also water inside. Oh, what a pity. You will have to light a fire and cook over a fire.
But first you need to clear the area for the fire from dry leaves and grass. I also poured water on the ground around the fire to prevent a forest fire.
For dinner I have ground beef, vegetables and bread. I wanted to cook a more complex dish, but I changed my mind. I spread the sauce on the bread, then put all the ingredients, cover with a second piece of bread, put tomato and herbs on top. It turned out very tasty.
The pump stopped pumping water due to low water level, I put the pump in the drainage hole that I dug when building the dugout, the water accumulates at the lowest point.
Sometimes the pump stops pumping water because the sensor falls to the ground, this pump is designed so that it should only work when the sensor is above the pump, I secure the sensor manually so that the pump does not stop working.
After the water was removed from the room, I decided to tidy up a little. Next time I will come here and light a fire inside the stove so that the moisture that remains inside the wood will evaporate and mold will not eat my dugout.
Thanks for watching and see you next time!!

Can i ask why you dont talk?
@teressabacklin2840 When he has spoken, it has been in Russian. I don't believe he knows any other language.
Yeah, I saw that too. What a shame after so much work. From the snow melt or excessive rain?
@@teresatrump8366 they had very heavy snowpacks and a fast melt. Terrain and ground also issues.
Hi Alexey, Husband and me watched in shock when you opened the doors. So sorry for you after all your hard work. How you remain so cheerful is a gift you have that not many others have! You and Pyosel go well.
Dear Alexey I was very impressed with your attitude and how you handled the situation. Im hoping you will find a solution to the flooding of your dugout so that it doesn't happen a second time. Keep your kind humble attitude it makes you a good man with patience. Thank you for sharing

What a mess to find! Our spring is not ordinary either this year. It was good to see what a great job you did dealing with the water. That is a great little pump. Your meal still made me hungry.😋👍
Yr all over this brother.... We stand with you... Stay strong...yr not alone..

Alexey, I am sorry your cabin was flooded out. But even though it was, you didn’t let it get you down. You kept a positive attitude about it. Plus you fixed and enjoyed yourself a great meal while waiting for all the water to be pumped out!
Keep up the great work!
Your optimism is legendary Alexey, it's an honor to follow you. Best of luck fixing up the dugout, if anyone can do it, it's you!!
Oh no Alexey, not you as well with the flooding! 😭 I know Alex Wild had the same problem. Alexey you're doing the best you can, and it looks like you have a great meal. Keep your chin up and keep going and things will work out. Alexey it is a lot of hard work, keep your thumbs up my friend. ❤👍
Can't open inside door because floor is floating.
My heart goes out to you brother...keep the faith and it will all be well again!
OMG I am so sorry !!!. I wish you the strenght to pump the water out and cleaning. I wish I can help you...
So sorry for you Alexey. I watch other UA-camrs who have dugouts in Russia and they too have suffered the same problem as you this year. It must have been a really snowy Winter.
Brother, I saw this and I was so sad. Happy to see you didn’t let it get you down and just got to work fixing the problem. Knowing you, you’ll have it sorted in no time. Thank you for the video. Das vidanya
I'm so sorry that that happened to you. It's so good to see you again, it's been a while. Prayers to you.🙏🙏
Yours is the third channel I watch that had a flooded dugout. I'm so, so sorry. I hope there is some solution to prevent this from happening again. Thank you for the long description!!
Hi Alexey, nice to see you back and Pyosel. From the looks on your face, you somewhat feel frustrated to see the dugout flooded. but it's not only you who've experienced it, others too! The whole world is experiencing extreme weather (more snow and rain there) while us here in the Tropics have the.opposite, no rain and too much heat that our rice fields have dried up.
Hope to see more videos soon..take care Alexey! Sending my hugs to Pyosel...
Hello Alexey, I'm so sorry about your dugout getting flooded.. this is so devastating, but you always keep a smile on my face ❤ this has happened to many people who have built dugouts...
Your dinner looked simple but also delicious so easy to make... hope everything works out for you over there.. stay positive and keep smiling 🐕 ❤
I had to giggle a little when Pyosel took a couple steps down, looked and was like "Yep, flooded...I'm gonna go play in the woods Alexey, this is a you problem buddy." LOL
😁😁😁
Absolutely commendable! Despite facing the challenges of a flood in the dugout, your resilience shines through as you take action to pump out the water and adapt by cooking over fire. Your ability to remain calm and resourceful in the face of adversity is truly inspiring. It's a testament to your determination and strength of character. Your actions not only ensure your safety but also demonstrate your ability to find solutions and persevere through difficult circumstances. Keep up the amazing work, and may you stay safe and resilient in the face of any challenge! And I am Floating Village Life.
Oh no Alexey, I am so sorry this happened! All that hard work you put in to building all this, it has GOT to be devastating to come in and see that. You will have to be very careful though because now you will be dealing with mold. That black mold is the worse! It will attack your lungs and make you so sick. Please wear a mask when entering the cabin, you may not notice the mold at first, so please be careful!
Alexey, I just watched these two videos, and I commend you on your hard work and steadfast optimism.
As a child, I had built quite a few "forts" in the woods, and for some reason have always felt at home in them.
I have watched a number of videos on life in Russia, and have always been amazed at the strength and determination of the people, especially when there are many obstacles in their way. My heart goes out to such strong and resilient people!!!
I am looking forward to seeing the final result of your hard work, I know you will be proud Alexey! The world is very proud of you and your determination! Bless you brother!
When Alexy build the dugout, I already knew it would flood. I just hoped I would be wrong.
Dugout should be built on higher ground.
I'm sure that that happens to others and they just don't show it. Kudos to Alexy. Unfortunately, now he has an elevated risk for mold. And this will happen again unless he digs a channel from the lowest point below his floor out horizontal, or just downward sloped until he hits the side of a hill. Put a 4" black slotted ABS pipe in it, cover it with lots of small rock, put a barrier over it to keep the dirt out, then fill it over with dirt.
Higher ground won't help. A dugout is essentially a hole in the ground, and holes in the ground get filled with water one way or another. The only solution is to build on a hillside and include drains.
Or a battery opperated bilge pump with a solar charger 😊@@bullpen4109
Or on a slope works to as natural drainage
Higher ground with an auto sump and solar battery bank would work perfect.
omg I was sooo sad to see your dugout,
after all that hard work you did:(
but you hang in there,,alot of us out here rooting for you...
What a mess!! I’m so sorry, Alexey. I’m glad that you were able to pump out the water. Hopefully, the damage isn’t too bad. Take care❤️
Sorry to see the disaster that struck your dugout. I hope you can repair it, but if not you can spend your time focused on your new cabin build. Good luck Alexey. Give love to Pyosel.
Big risk make undergroud room
@@sutiayunanda7302 Yeah, never a good idea. It will happen again too...

Aww Alexey. I felt so sorry to see your lovely dugout full of water. You work so hard to keep it nice.
I wish I could help you.
Sending much love to you and your lovely boy ❤ good luck with drying everything out
Hello Alexei! I'm Sebastian and I follow you from Buenos Aires Argentina. I was very sad to see how the shelter was left after the flood. I hope you can solve all the problems that the water brought in there. It would be a shame if you had to tear it down. Big greetings to you and encouragement!
Alexey, cooking with the sharpened blade of the knife will harm your skillet, it will scratch it. Greetings to you and Pyosel from the Western Mediterranean Sea shore.
Wow I remember watching you build this shelter 😢 I’m so sorry this happened to you brother
I am so sorry for the flood in your nice hut! You are very strong and brave to work so hard!!
Waooo limpieza profunda. OBLIGADO!!!
Remove all cloth and other fibrous items, including the stuffing between the logs. You will need to replace these items to prevent black mold. Spray down the walls floor and ceiling with a mold repellent. It was good to see you again. Peace and safe blessings.
i really feel for you alexy
but you never let it get you done you are a good soul!

You built this dugout and I know you can fix it. Alexey, you amaze me.
Alexey I'm sorry to see your dugout totally under water...but your spirit is so full politeness that I have no doubt you will fix it up. I send my love from ca it's nice to see you again my friend🧡
No i fajna z Was para!Ty i Twój piesek!!!😊
Oh sweet Alexey! My heart broke to see your dugout flooded (especially so deeply).
I hope and pray all goes smoothly in getting the dugout dried out. You kept a great attitude as you dealt with the mess and damage. U think this 75 year old grandmother would have been letting loose a few swear words. 😮
Stay strong and safe. ❤
Oh Alexey, that’s terrible. You will have to get the other place finished mate. 👍🏼🇦🇺
Bless you,,I hope you get it fixed. Take care.
Hello Alexsey, It is indeed disappointing watching your dugout flooded. Perhaps consider making a deep well beside your dug out. With our constant climate change it will help drain most of the water within the sorrounding. Still love the enthusiasm you show even how strenuous work should be done. Pls. give my Hugs to Pyosel and take care. From CALIFORNIA.USA.💛💜❤💚
I guess that is the main problem with these underground cabins. They can't stand heavy rain. Drainage of the water is the first issue. Drying all the wood and preventing it from rotting is the greater challenge. And how can you prevent the next flooding?
Very sad to see what happens, I hope you can save it but make sure it's safe. Good luck with everything and stay positive.❤❤🇺🇸
You have such a calm attitude
We will wait for you next video. All the way from Canada 🇨🇦. So sorry this happened the weather has been so crazy. See you later.
Sending you dry and crispy vibes from Australia - I hope you can get your beautiful dugout back to normal again so you and Pyosel can continue your adventures 💖 I just found your channel today and can’t click away, I love your videos and hope you can spend time in the forest forever!
Hi alexey sorry to see your dug out flooded but look at the brite side it looks like clean water and not much mud to deal with mate
Alexy i feel so bad for you! You put in all your hard work and time. And so much money into this shelter to have this happen to you. When i get paid from work next ill see about donating you some money to help restore this shelter. This is my most favorite shelter of yours! God bless you and your pup.
Thanks 😊
This was brutal. My heart dropped when i saw all that water and destruction 💔. You handled it better than i would have. You waved, i waved. You gave thumbs up, i struggled to return the thumbs up. 😮😊 It was too heartbreaking after watching you work so hard to create such a cool place. And this happens😢. Did it leak in from the roof, or the door? Anyways, i will enjoy you working your asss off to bring it back to life while im cozy in bed😂 . Thank you for sharing Alexey. 💔❤️👍👋👋👋👋👋👋
Oh NO!! So sorry for the flood, Alexey. How heartbreaking, and so much work. I look forward to seeing it restored to cozy. I wish the best to you.
I’m sorry, my friend that cabin is a loss all I can see in there now is mold you’re gonna be fighting it. I’m so sorry.
Most important now is to get the residual moisture out ASAP - set up that oven and crank it up to max so that the moisture can evaporate out of the cabin. Otherwise, it will go into the wood and then the whole structure will be in jeopardy. Crank it up, heat it to MAX, keep the doors open so there is a positive flow of heat to remove the water vapor. I hold thumbs !
Flooding in dug out, even doggy is upset. Feeling very sad for you . Stay strong and healthy, have a warm meal and drink. This small disaster will make you inventive to find a preventive method. Wish you good health and stay happy with God's blessings. 🙂🐕
Alexey, It has been wonderful watching the progress on your dugout. I hope the damage this flooding caused will be minor in the long term, and that the dugout will be good to use soon.
Alexey I am so very sorry about what happened to your dugout, soo sad 😢
Awe man. So sorry to see this happen. I’ve enjoyed your videos so much. 🙁
I'm so sorry about the flood Alexey. I'm sure you will get everything back as it was and maybe come up with a plan to stop it flooding again
I watched you build this cabin my heart goes out to you. Good luck from the usa.❤❤❤
Toujours très bien filmé ! Beau travail et bon courage !
Oh no! I love this dugout! So awful to see this. You're a very resourceful man. You'll get it fixed up again. 👍🏻♥️
You always put a smile on my face.
I am so sad, sorry that happened
God bless you Alexey
Oh Alexey!!! I am so sorry this happened :( Stay strong my friend!!!
Prayers for you! Hopefully, you’ll soon get it cleaned out.
Oh, I’m so sad to see the state your precious dugout is in! 😢
OMG it's like a swimming pool !
I feel so sorry for you! It’s terrible. As a 6year old girl then, I remember now the 1,50cm of water in our house, in 1953 during the great flood in the West of the Netherlands. All was floating, ditty and mud. I wish you strength In repairing!
Next time you should make the door turning to outside. Now was not only the floor swollen, but the amount of water stopped opening the door.
This is heartbreaking.
You effort and skill have been admired by myself and so many others.
I wish you well in all your endeavors brother.
❤️🫡
You will overcome this problem. A large sheet of plastic or two covering the Dugout and area surrounding it and covered with at least 30cm of soil could possibly keep water from seeping down by diverting it away. You could put the plastic and 10 cm of soil then more plastic and soil and then another plastic an soil, and a better sealed entryway may possibly help. Drying the interior out will be time consuming, heat up the inside and keep it hot for days. Also, dig a sump hole and put in a solar powered pump to siphon out water. You have learned from this experience, the next dugout will have much better water proofing and drainage. Shelves to keep everything off the floor. And the next dugout, stack rocks up for a foundation wall before starting the timber build. Moisture is your enemy.
I am so sorry that ur dugout was flooded, Alexey. U work so hard on everything you do. U didnt deserve that.😢
you have a great attitude to adversity. I Enjoy your videos. Good luck from Ireland.
glad to see you again and also your little friend , tank you for visiting us again and sharing
👍👍👍 so terrible all that water as you open the door ah so so sorry you had to have that happens😯
From Missouri USA
This broke my heart. I am so sorry this happened.
The many pleasant memories.
I hope you can rescue the place!
Oh. And in another post, you asked for a name of the doll. How about Victor?
Because of your ultimate victory over fixing this flood
Hello Alexey, well there's nothing you can do about that. It's good that you're building your above-ground house. Find out whether your underground houses are based on groundwater reservoirs that are deeper in the earth, but at a depth of 15 to 20 meters the recovery will only begin with a delay. Here it takes longer for the rain to reach the reservoirs. “It could take a few months or a year or two.”
Kind regards also to Poysel, who certainly finds it exciting.👍
So sorry Alexy. It's a big chore to clean it up. Good luck. I see a couple of snide remarks from people who think they're smarter than everyone else. To those say " thank you for your expertise". Now FO. Cheers from Canada.
OMG...!!! 😮 Have courage Alexey, you’re strength. ❤
Finalmente ti rivediamo!
E encanta volver a ver a Pyosel
I am SO sorry to see this. It’s been a terrible spring for my favourite Russian dugout builders. My heart goes out to you….😢😢😢
Wow Alexei, I'm so sorry. I know you will get it back the way it was, but still it is heart breaking.
